They did a fantastic frame repair to my 2006 Saturn Vue, at very reasonable cost. This model has a design flaw where the subframe to frame mounts collect water and rust out. Had a half dozen places in town turn me down over the phone (policy on frame rust repair) but Chato's came to the rescue, surrounding the old frame mounts with new material welding the frame and subframe together. Honestly, I would have been happy with crude and effective but what I got was very intricate, with multiple pieces and beautiful welds. Not a factory repair but sure looks it, was even treated with paint/rust proof apparently. I'll need to come back for other services!

The guy Cailo kept my truck overnight and the whole next day just to tell me they don t do electrical problems, and charged me $318.00 after he told me he did absolutely nothing to my truck. I can t make this up! Wasted time and money pls try another place. People in Lafayette even told me to avoid this place and don t bring anything back here!Read the description on the 2nd picture!

On Sep 7, I was in need of a mechanic because my car was having issues with the horn. My car was honking nonstop on campus and there was nothing that I could do about it. I contacted many mechanics in my area and even went to Ford of Lafayette searching for a mechanic that can work on my car right away but to no avail because all mechanics had a tight schedule that day. I was hopeless until I found Chato's on google with decent reviews. I walked into their shop and was told that he could work on my car right away. I got the car back only three hours later after a temporary fix (disconnected the horn), and yesterday (Sep 12) I dropped off the car and he replaced the airbag clock spring in just 2 hours. He also did some other fix as he mentioned that the car has been in an accident before. It cost me around $190 for labor for all this trouble, which is really reasonable compared to other mechanics. Would come back if I need any help in the future.

We took our car there last year specifically for the front brakes to be done, and we thought he even priced decently. And got it done fast.But we took our car again just a few days ago because our belt was squeaking. He wanted to replace the belt, compressor. And we also had him look over our whole entire vehicle and what do you know he tried saying we needed our front brakes and rotors AGAIN! I asked him to pull up the receipt from last year and he realized he just did our brakes last year and that oh maybe we didnt need them done. Now back to the compressor and belt. He wanted to charge us 1,000$ to replace it we took our car elsewhere. And the other mechanic said there was nothing wrong with our compressor and he replaced the belt in30 minutes and charged us 85$. I do not recommend this guy! I feel like he was just trying to get money and replace things that didnt need done. Will NEVER go back or recommend toanyone. Guess i shouldve read the review first because he doesnt seem professional towards his negative reviews anyway.

Went there on the referral from cool guy at Auto Zone.I was talking to an associate of Auto Zone an explained how bad I needed a reasonable mechanic, and I needed affordable prices.I'm taking car in on the 3rd if July for power windows replacement motor or regulator will update on review after that.

First time I visited was pretty welcoming and seemed okay. Had to do a coolant flush and replace a thermostat. They gave me a decent price and did the job pretty well. came back again for another thing but one downfall made me not want to come back requested an other appointment for tires and rims shortly after and also a new coolant overflow tank and they told me they would call me back to let me know when they were ordered and when to come in. 2 days later never got a phone call. Called them back and said just do coolant overflow tank and they said sure it ll be a little under 100$. So he scheduled it the next day around 10am. Woke up the next morning and DROVE 20 minutes and wasted gas. The young guy changed his mind to 200$. Waste of time. Said it was inconvenient of me to request such a small job when it could ve been done earlier on the coolant job even though he said during the coolant job I can always come back if I change my mind about my bad overflow tank. Couple days days go by and I get hit with a scam in a way. So I guess it s an extra 100$ on top of it for inconvenience apparently which is kinda an excuse. Did it myself for under 60$ with ease out of frustration of leaving Pretty sure he thought I was some annoying young kid that didn t know anything about cars. I was like nope and walked out.. not coming back again.. thought it was a good place with friendly people but not so much. Most likely they ll think your annoying by changing your oil .so don t expect them to kindly agree with a simple repair or heck even a oil change without a ridiculous inconvenience fee that you have to pay an extra hundred bucks for!! good mechanics but rude.

They charged me for my free quote. They overpriced the services they wanted to do compared to other businesses. Truly felt they wanted to take advantage of the situation by underestimating my knowledge.

It was the night of Good Friday, 2021, and suddenly my minivan needed to limp off Exit 172 on I-65 and promptly expired in a Meijer parking lot. Filled with the wife, 3 kids, and a week s supply of post-Spring break essentials, we had 224 miles left to drive that day when any hope of arriving home was ripped from us. However, Someone was looking out for us since Chato's Mechanic Services was at the top of the list of local mechanics open on Saturdays. On the first call of the morning, they were sympathetic to my situation but honest about their busy schedule; two things rare when you think of a stereotypical mechanic. After the tow truck dropped off my car, they went straight to work on it. They were patient with me when I called every two hours and were able to find the root cause of the issue and locate parts before noon. They could have gouged me, big time, but the final bill was completely reasonable and I am happy to support their business. By 1:30, the keys were back in my hand and Easter dinner was saved! In addition to being good mechanics, they are fast, fair priced, and honest.I went to an auto glass specialist to replace my window regulator. They lost a piece and by the time I got it and went back to them to install it, the regulator they put in was broken. At Chato's I paid less for them to actually fix it than I paid for the botched job. Chato's also only took a couple hours while the specialist had me leave the car with them for a couple days.They also checked my engine light for free and advised me on what to do where the dealer would have charged me for a fix.Services: Auto glass repair, Auto engine diagnostic

He's always been straight to the point with me. On Monday of this week. 9 a.m. I took my Nissan in to fix a cracked radiator and an oil change I had not had heat in the vehicle for a little while. When I came back to pick it up. It has Heat. And it was no longer leaking. He always has fast courteous work. The only mechanic in town that I would go to.

Really cool. They speak both English and Spanish. They listen your needs and try to solve them with professionalism all the time. They are also very gentle and their work is very well done. From now, they are the only mechanic I will have for my car

While some other business claimed that even by just open the engine lid will cost me 2000 bucks, Mailo (the owner) helped me to examine the car condition for free and breakdown the price to fix each part. Great experience with Chato's Mechanic Service. Juan was able to help me with a pre-purchase inspection and went above and beyond with my request. The service is quick and I did not have to wait!I would definitely do business with again!
