Please don't take your vehicle to this shop. Dave the owner assured me they could get out a broken spark plug. I was told me he had expensive drill bits that would do the job with ease. Well long story short they made it worse. I drove the car in and had to tow it home. They actually broke the cylinder head, I'm assuming they couldn't drill it out so they tried to beat it out with a hammer. Then the owner Dave lied to me, he told me a tool broke and they couldn't get it all out. One star is too many in my opinion. Beware this shop is the worst business I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

I had my car towed here after it broke down with what's more than likely a blown head gasket. As soon as I took it Dave agreed that it was, but it would need a complete teardown of my engine to diagnose for warranty and that it would cost around $700. THEN they promised me they would get to my car that Monday or Tues, so I gave them a week after the fact and called back. they said they would get to it that next Monday or Tuesday. It's been over a month of this. They said its because they keep getting cars in and pushing mine back to fix those ones. I am towing it somewhere else I've lost my patience. It's more frustrating because whenever you complain to him he goes on about how much experience he has and how qualified he is. Oh btw, this is all just the diagnosis, I can't imagine how long the fix would take. Don't take your car here if you actually want it fixed.

This place is literally the best place to go in Lafayette for automotive work. Dave and his team are very well spoken and professional. They are super helpful and knowledgeable. They are informative about the work being done and how it's being done.The most important part of this business is the fact it's a respectable business that stands behind it's product and craftsmanship. I have nothing bad to say about this place, and I take driving, and my cars very seriously. Thank you guys.

I broke down on the road and luckily AAA brought me here. This is old school service. They care. They communicated with me every step of the way as I stayed in a hotel. My car was fixed quickly and perfectly. I wish they were located in Madison Wisconsin. It is the only place I would take my car. Thank you for your great service!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Absolutely over priced and horrible work completed. They actually caused us more damage, and we had to go elsewhere to get the damage caused by them repaired. Definitely smooth talkers! They try to talk you into getting things done that don t necessarily need fixing. Do not fall for their Free Inspection tactic. They do that to get you to believe that your car needs a lot done! We would never recommend them to anyone.Services: Auto power window repair, Battery, Oil change

I've had multiple vehicles serviced at Auto Diagnostic, and I have never had a bad experience. Dave is honest and friendly, and never talks down to me about my car. The service is fast and accurate, and the price is always reasonable. I'm a loyal customer! :-)

Auto Diagnostic is fantastic. I've taken Dave, Aaron, Misty and the team several cars over the years and have always left pleased. From oil changes and regular maintenance to tires, used car inspections and major repairs -- they do great work and it's usually done faster than I expect.Here's the big selling point: one time, Dave called me a few days after I'd been in for a repair to report that he'd accidentally overcharged my account. Apparently, he'd ordered a part that they didn't end up needing and he sent me back the money for it.I was so impressed. (And you will be, too.)

Dave and the group are wonderful. They have talked me out of expensive options and found ways to minimize hours which works great for me, because I'm barely making it as it is. They are knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge while discussing the problems of my old vehicles. If you are like me and can't afford a more reliable vehicle and can't seem to go a year without something failing I highly recommend them to offer you the service you need at a great price. No fear of misleading sales tactics or slipping in unnecessary labor like some places.

Absolutely fantastic service facility. Worked on my Volvo with no issues. Dropped the car off on Tuesday, received the diagnosis Tuesday evening, and 4 repairs were completed by Wednesday. Dave is a very knowledgable and fair mechanic. Not to mention the exact same repair that was done to my left wheel 3 years ago cost TWICE AS MUCH at the dealer as the same repair to the right wheel here at Auto Diagnostic and Repair. Would recommend to anyone!

While it is hard to give rating to the service portion of Auto Diagnostic and Repair Center as I did not receive service, I did take my car to them for service and my experience was less than stellar.My car would not start one morning. So after playing with it for a bit, I called a towing service. The towing service tried to start my car and was without luck as well. I looked through google and found Auto Diagnostic and Repair Center and at 4.2 stars I thought I d test my luck.My car was dropped off late Monday and I called Tuesday right when they opened to let them know my car was in their possession and what was wrong with my car. They told me they would look at it later that afternoon.I called Wednesday, and they told me they hadn t had a chance to look at it and they should be getting to it soon. I got off work on a Thursday and headed down to their shop. My car was sitting in the same spot but my back windows were rolled down.I walked in the shop and asked about my car. Apparently, they looked at it on Wednesday and were too busy to call me to tell me that my car started right up. I asked about my window and no one knew why it would be down (I m glad nothing was stolen or that it didn t rain).He said they would still charge me $100, even though they did nothing to my car and it started fine for them.I am still confused as to what I was charged, why my window was down, and why I was never called about my car. I would not recommend this place if you care about your time, your property, or your money.

We decided to change our regular routine and not take the car to the Subaru dealer. We knew service for 60,000 miles would be pricey. I brought a list of everything Subaru suggests. I was given an estimate. For fun I called the Subaru dealer to find out what the service would cost. $200 more.Auto Diagnostic kept me updated. Everything seemed good to until a few days later when the car developed a hot, burning smell. We took the car back and they fixed the issue which turned out to be a leaking oil filter. While taking the car back was a bit of a hassle, over, Auto Diagnostic did a great job. We will be back.

Took car in for noisy power steering module, presuming it was either the module itself, a loose serpentine belt, or both. Dave's shop discovered it was a case of low fluid level.The shop also recommended spark plug replacement, following manufacturer's schedule. Added an oil change, and all set.Per usual, friendly, professional experience with some offered expertise sharing. Reasonably priced preventive maintenance and overall positive experience. Will go back and will recommend Dave and his shop.

They are very knowledgeable , up front and honest. They troubleshot my car and explained ,better than a teacher , what my options were. I made my choice and within a reasonable amount of time it was complete. It took me awhile to decifer the bill, but the rates were reasonable.

Dave is always an amazing guy to work with. He treats cars like a physician with his patients. He does great work and wants the best job done for the car and for the customer. Would not consider taking our vehicles to anyone else.

Terrible experience all around. I will NEVER recommend this shop to anyone. Very degrading and rude towards me. Not upfront about credit card fee when I paid. Took my car in for brake noises (it was completely drivable) and during their inspection apparently the rear brake bad fell apart and I could not drive it away. Initially, the quote was $1400. I asked the bare minimum that I could pay to just drive it away and they said $800. Close family member went in & I was able to pay $240 just to drive away (they just replaced the rear brake pads). VERY misleading and expensive.

Dave is so rude and unprofessional. They were trying to rip me off by charging me about $60 in labor costs just to look at my car! Extremely disappointed and I wish I never went to them in the first place. He tells me it was going to cost me $220 for the repairs and when I called up Sears or any other Auto Repair company, they were all charging $130. When I told him I wanted my car back and didn't want them to do any work, he said I have to pay an extra $20 for them to just move my car out of the building! Are you serious! I am definitely not paying this stupid company $80 for not repairing my car! What a rip off!I will not let any of my friends go to him and I would discourage all of you from using them too.

I have taken my Honda Accord hybrid there everytime I've done maintenance. I've always gotten in a timely manner. Friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable, and worth the money. I would definitely recommend taking your vehicle there.

Very unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend taking a bike to them for repair. My Husband and I brought in our car with 1 issue with it. When we came to pick up our car ( that was supposedly ready, according to the auto tech) our car was still not working, as well as multiple other problems with it that we did not have prior to bringing in the car. Our car was left there so they can fix it, we came back and our window was cracked. They have no idea how it happened. They are a joke. Anyone who takes their vehicle there is dumb to let morons like them fix it.

I've used Auto Diagnostic for 15 years -- always friendly, fair and observant. They've noticed tire issues before I did. This time a headlight was out. And the work I knew I needed is always done efficiently the first time. I'm sure they've extended the years I've gotten from my car, but when it's time for another, I'll take it here to be checked out.

Diagnosed a front wheel sensor malfunction and charged me over $600.Driving away I noticed same problem (thumping wheel on moderate left turn).Immediately went to WALMART tire center and they discovered a bulge on right front tire. Replaced tire and thumping disappeared!Management refused to compensate for their error which costs me over $600 for a new sensor that I didn t need!!------------------------Been several years now. No attempt to reconcile. I guess they get enough customers despite their unsavory service. Oh well, you win some and you lose some.Service: Steering & suspension repair

My stabilizer arms were worn out on my 96 gmc safari van. Needless to say it was scary to drive. Talked to Dave about it, and he said to bring it in and they'd look at. Called me later to explain what was wrong and the price. Got the part in the next morning and I picked it up after work. Drives great! Totally satisfied! Thanks Dave!

They don't have enough experience and facility to check ABS and brake system. They will charge you the time 50/hr even when you talk with them for nothing, they said that is sharing the knowledge, even nothing is done to your car. They charge $100 for test driving 20-30min two times but didn't tell you anything. Be aware of this place.

Pleasant staff and the got my vehicle done in the time expected. Found another issue and called before fixing it. Price wise, they are near the upper end on price. Not as high as the dealer, but most other shops will do the service cheaper. The 3% upcharge for using a credit card is misleading. It is pushed as a discount, but they quote you the cash price. I understand needing to recoup the credit card processing fee, but it would be best to quote the credit card price and offer the cash price as a true discount option.

Have been using auto diagnostics for several years now. Have never once felt cheated or that the work wasn't completed promptly and professionally. It's the only place I go to and the only place I'll recommend. I have a weird schedule and Dave manages to fit me in and I know the estimate will be good. They've even figured out weird problems that had everybody stumped.

Much better service than Midas. Found out that Midas welded brand new Sawy Bars in and Jeremy found that I had a rear wheel bearing in the process of failing. Awesome folks and looking forward to working with them again in the future!

They fixed a sporadic electrical issue that turned out to be nothing more than some corroded battery lugs. They could have easily tried to make up some spiel and overcharge but they were honest with cost and had the truck back the next day. Also used them to replace a leaking brake line. Great service every time.

I wish I never let Dave touch my car, let's just put it that way. Also, he wouldn't shut up to let me ask questions. He acts like a professional mechanic but with my experience here after today, I assure you, he isn't. I'm pissed and frustrated, never again taking my car to him!

Dave is friendly & honest. We appreciate that they call and let us know before work is done, allowing us to make the best decision needed for the vehichle & our wallet.
