I was on a solo road trip. My car had a major issue and broke down while passing Lafayette, IN. I was a total stranger to the town -- and to this part of the country.I rolled my car into Aamco's parking lot in the morning at no advance notice. They could have easily tossed me aside, but Joe and his team were excellent at getting my car back on the road by the end of the day. They were knowledgeable, honest, respectful, good, fast, and cheap.They didn't just fixed my car, they saved me from a potential road trip nightmare. These are the kind of people you want fixing your car.By the way, I went to automotive school. I used to fix cars. I never told them. They didn't try to oversell me things or take shortcuts while fixing my car.

Absolutely incredible. Joe was helpful and quick with his diagnostic check. He wasn't able to service my vehicle, but he also didn't charge me for the check. I'd trust them again with my vehicle.

We tried AAMCO since it was close to our new home. We've used them a few times since. They treat us like a member of the family making repairs and towing for us easy, quick & affordable. They always communicate before proceeding with any repairs. They explain every repair, if it can wait or needs immediate attention and why. Love this place.

My car was broke down for a few months, I took my car to them to have it looked at. Their service was amazing! I needed a great deal of work done to my car, they did it all and got it finished quickly!! I will always recommend them, they do amazing work. They are all great to work with! While they had my car the first time, they found out that part of my issues were covered by a warranty from Kia. They didn't have to look that up for me, but they did and it ended up saving me a bit of money. If you need any repairs on your car, take it to AAMCO!

They fixed my transmission for less than $200 and other places would have charged me much more! Very honest. They also got it in very quickly, and back out the same day. My reverse and first just disappeared. Aamco made a few adjustments and my VW drives better than ever. I am always happy with their work! I appreciate you Aamco.

My wipers broke down on a rainy day, 3 hours into a 5 hour drive. I called these guys up and they checked a few things, replaced my fuse, and I was on my way in 5 minutes. They didn't even bother charging me. 10/5 stars for this crew! It took me longer to write this comment!

I have not had this kind of excellent service in years. I am so very impressed with the honesty and courtesy given me on a recent visit to the shop. I will continue using Aamco service team from now on.Thank you so very much!!!!

My car was repaired to perfection . Joe was very professional and patient with all my questions. He kept me informed of the process of several repairs being performed. I enjoyed my first experience with the company and I will definitely refer a friend and come back and visit myself for sure.

I thought I had some transmission problems so I got and asked for a diagnosis. They treated my car well and got back to me as soon as they were done with it. Everything was good and I didn't get any charge of diagnosis. Real professionals, perfect service. The guys here are genuinely so amazing. They truly know what they re doing, and they put a lot of care into their clients and their cars. They seriously went above and beyond for me. I had just gotten out of the psych ward, and my car had broken down in the middle of the parking lot. These guys drove up to the psych ward I was at and helped me get my car moving to get back to their shop. They very well could ve charged me the $60 for towing, but instead they went completely out of their way when they were already busy enough as is. They did their best to get my car running again with the things they already had so I could save a few bucks, and they ended up fixing the part for me completely free of charge. I can t express how grateful I am for these mechanics. Truly the best service I ve ever gotten at a repair shop; I m not going anywhere else after this experience. Not only were they so compassionate, but they knew what they were doing! I just have them a brief description of what was going on with my car over the phone, and as soon as they got there, he had slid under the car and got it up and moving in just a few minutes without having to monkey around with anything- he already knew what to do. Seriously amazing work. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Thank you guys so much again!Service: Transmission repair

I am extremely satisfied with this store. The workers are attentive, timely, and have great customer service skills. I have been to this store multiple times when my car was having issues. I have never left dissatisfied and have always left more knowledgeable knowing what is wrong with my vehicle and what my next step is. My questions are always answered in full detail, and the staff are extremely knowledgeable. I spoke primarily with Joe who was a wonderful help. I called Monday Morning Joe had answered(Very Polite, Very detailed on paper work and the understanding of what I needed done) Told me to bring my car in the next day in the morning Joe called me within a few hours, emailed me 2 different options walked me through both and gave me time to think about it and to call back when I was ready, no pressure at all. Ended up getting it all done. He said I wouldn t get my car till the next morning to my surprise they got it done by the end of the day. I asked to see the drive shaft, he had no issues going and bringing the part out and explained everything that had happened even though they had closed already but he stayed over just to answer my questions. Contacted them at 5pm with my issue. They were very polite, professional. Worked my car in the next day, arrived to a clean facility. Provided a prompt estimate, services completed same day. We have been trying to find an honest auto mechanic for over a year now when we found Joe. Joe and his team are amazing. They explain everything in detail and in simple terms so you can understand what and how they are doing the repairs. We have now taken 3 of our vehicles to them and will never use anyone else again. They truly strive for the best quality, price (no hidden charges), and safety of your vehicle. The peace of mind is worth it's weight in gold!! These guys were great. I was able to drop my van off and they got to it pretty fast. They also kept in touch with me about what was going on and my options. I mainly spoke with Joe and he was very nice. They quoted me a decent price and didn t try to add any extras on. I thought my car had it ignition problems with the ignition switch but they found that it did not. It was just a security option in the car to protect me in my car so I m very thankful that they figured that out for me Aamco the best I have use this company for a long time. I ve had other issues with my car and they ve always fixed no problem.

Originally thought I just had a bad battery but diagnostics confirmed I also needed an alternator. Joe was great with getting the problem solved quickly so I could be on my way, even earlier than he predicted!Very considerate, quick. Took my car in because I was worried the transmission was having issues. They did a thorough inspection and determined that my transmission is running great. In stead of saying there was something wrong and charging me for services which I did not need ( I have had business do this to me before) he let me know that my car had no issues and sent me on my way. I am very happy with the extra time he took to make sure everything was ok. Great and honest people and I will definitely be going back to them if I do have issues with my car.Service: Transmission

I called Joe in August to diagnose a transmission issue that was causing it to stick going into and out of first gear. I said pull the trans and look at the governor. Dropped the truck off and he calls me later to inform me I've got a major issue that needs fixing first. I spend around $2400 to get the engine and trans out and oil pan replaced. He was great, explained everything he would do, tried to understand what I wanted to do myself, and we came up with a compromise to get most work done. He turns it over to me, but it still shifts bad. So I brought it back to him and specified to please look at the governor. He calls me back and gives me a quote for $700 since the governor requires the trans to be out. I had to get it fixed so my wife can use my other truck since someone hit her car, so I just did it myself. In the end, I have to trust the oil pan actually needed to be replaced and appreciate it, but he still didn't listen when I told he what I wanted done. Just got done cleaning the governor this weekend, shifts like a dream.Service: Transmission

Aamco is my new one-stop mechanic shop of choice. The manager that helped and guided me, Joe, is an outstanding young man with customer service and politeness above and beyond the competition in and beyond our area. Joe, Aamco, Lucas, the techs, mechs, and the Caradvise membership through Uber and the whole Caradvise teams, payment options, and attention to detail and attentiveness made this process possible as I couldn't afford the services without the help and compared to the other places that could change the steering pump and lines in a heavy-duty Duramax Silverado, Aamco was as honest and fair if not over fair with the pricing. I would recommend Aamco Lafayette, Indiana to everyone who is tired of and chafed raw from the no lube humpty hump beat down the dealerships are saddling customers over the rakes with. I Aamco! Joe was very helpfull with the problems I was having with my transmission and the noise in the rear end. They were able to diagnose the issues so a repair could be done. I had car trouble (check engine light and some vehicle instability) after hours, but luckily for me these guys have a key drop off. I called in the morning and my car was diagnosed and fixed the same day. Shop manager who contacted me was nice and to the point. He was honest about the cost and the diagnosis made perfect sense with respect to the issues I had. Car is running normal after the issue was fixed. They aren t my usually mechanics, so It was nice to feel their honesty when you have an emergency issue that could end up costing you a bundle.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair
