Called and spoke with Allen. Explain I just bought a car and was having some issues with a sound while driving, no lights on. Not sure. He told me to come in and he would take it for a drive. Made an apt for the next day. When I went in He plugged me up to a machine and no codes ran, he told me there was nothing wrong with it and sent me on my way. Told me to wait until a light pop ups on the dash and then I can figure out what s going on. Like what ?!? I wasted my time and hopes on this auto shop. I would not recommend. Made me feel like I was a bother and didn t want to deal with meI would assume if someone is telling you the issue is while driving , you would take it for a test drive, right ?? Very disappointed.

3,300 ago they put in a brake light switch which failed.I went back and they said they didn't have time to replace it.I said it only took you 5 min to put it in the first time and they refused.It cost me $139.00.We had words and I said you will never see my business againAnd NO! the new owners are NOT! amazing.Greg would not have done this to me.I need this car for work.Right now its at a reputable auto repair.

The new owners of Wallen auto are really amazing. I didn t know Wallen but Cody and his father have fixed my two cars with consideration and quality of service. They really take care of customers and never cut corners or overcharge for their work. It s the best auto repair in town and to be frank, the best I have ever been to anywhere in the midwest and elsewhere I have lived.

They did a Awesome Job basically replaced my whole front end on my Truck, got it back in a couple days, I m so amazed drives so much better. Very reasonable rates. I will always go there for vehicle needs. Awful service, mostly never know what they are talking about. Fixed my spark plugs and days later my car won t run. I know good mechanics are hard to come by but do not waste your money going to this trashy place

This is by far the best mechanic shop in Laporte. Honestly probably in the Northwest Indiana area. They are very reasonable with their pricing and straightforward. They don't pull any punches.Its Owned by a former firefighter so you know you can count on someone that is there to help you.

Matt and Greg Wallen have sold the business - it is now under new ownership and management. Usually if you have a repair done and the repair part fails under warranty, the whole replacement is covered since you bought the part from them in the first place. Not here. A part they had replaced failed, and they got me a new one free under the warranty but charged me $20 labor for what was about 1 minute of work - basically two screws. The quality of their work in my experience is good - I have had work done there on several occasions - but I was disappointed that they charged me that much to replace a simple part especially when I had paid them for the initial repair job.

Doug is great!! We're new to La Porte and he has been more than helpful in getting our family vehicle repaired properly. He cares about his customers and really knows his stuff. The shop we took our vehicle to before Doug completely tried to swindle us. Finding Wallen auto was a blessing.

These people offer decent pricing, and know what they're doing, but most importantly, they are good honest people, who care about their customers, I'll never go to another mechanic shop. Only place your car doesn't come out worse than it went in.Service: TiresService: Tires

They where fantastic came here a month ago for a recharge did it and for only $60! for recharge very reasonably priced and friendly :) u see lot of auto shops scam women but they are very honest and straight forward and get the job done!Service: Air & cabin filter replacementService: Air & cabin filter replacement

The place to go if you want good work done right at a fair price! Matt and Greg Wallen were the Previous owners. The New owner Alan is awesome! Definitely go there!Al was very understanding when Carparts.com sent me a damaged Caliper and I had to make a couple stops in to correct the damaged Caliper from Carparts.com .Because he is an honest straight shooter he is usually backed up for a few days, but it is worth the wait.

Very nice people. Had an emergency and was out of town and took care of me well. Only a couple hours but saved me lots of money in time and repairs! My mother always took her car here.They were so nice to her.If she needed a ride back home they would do it. Never ripped her off.Real honest guys.Hard to find people like that
