I was told by the Fiat Dealership in Indy that my car needed $1,300 worth of work done on my brakes. I took my car to Thrifty for a second opinion, and they said there was nothing wrong with my brakes at all, just regular wear and tear, and that they would probably last me another 50,000 miles. They didn t even charge me for their time. Thank goodness there are still some honest, hard-working people in the world. They have my business for life!!Service: Brakes

I had air put in the tires at a tire store and was told I needed to purchase new lugnuts because the current ones were swelling.A set cost $ 80.00.I went to another auto repair shop and was told a lugnut set would cost $ 120 and labor could be $ 100.I went to an auto parts store and found out that a lugnut cost $ 5.70.Next I went to Thrifty Brake and found out I needed three lugnuts replaced. The owners of Thrifty Brake changed the lugnuts for free and I really appreciate what they did.In the end, the whole process cost me $ 17.87.

They were extremely helpful and straight forward with what I was going to need. I went in there prepared to have to pay $500-$600 for a replacement of the brake pads in my car; however, he explained exactly what was wrong and where. He mentioned that the brake line was rusted (the car is a 97), but that I only needed to have the rear lines fixed. I ended up having the whole line replaced and it was still cheaper than what ai would have paid elsewhere!Service: Auto brake repair

Wonderful service!! I was in a time crunch and was able to have my car done within a desired time frame. They owner and his associates were very sweet and were great at explaining the problems with my car as well as spoke to me with respect instead of someone who knew nothing about cars. Very reasonable prices and a great small business. Will be going back for all my brake needs!Services: Tires, Brakes

I was told by my dealership that I needed new brakes on all 4 tires and the cost would be $600-1000. I asked around a work and was told that Thrifty was the place to go and that if the brakes didn't need replaced they won't replace them. I am glad to say my experience here was top notch. After looking at the brakes, they determined that only the front rotors needed to be addressed and back brakes as well as brake pads were totally fine and would be fine for 30,000 to 40,000 more miles. All told, I walked out of Thrifty with a cost of $90 to repair my brakes that the Honda dealer wanted to charge me over $600 (minimum) to replace. I can't recommend this place enough! Very honest!Service: Brakes

The guys were extremely friendly and straightforward. They provided on the spot service and I was out within a very fast 60 minutes for front end brakes and 1 rotor. The price seemed reasonable and I will return when I need any additional brake service.

I love my civic, but after about 150,000 miles my brakes need some serious work. They did a nice professional estimate here. I wasn't happy with everything that needed to be done but after getting some other estimates I found that they were fair. They did the job quickly and now my brakes are in great shape.

Thrifty brakes is the only place to get your brakes serviced. They are attentive, respectful, and fair. Matt runs a good business and deserves the opportunity to service your vehicle. Very satisfied with their service.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

I took my car into the shop today, and after inspection, Kent told me that I still have several miles left on my brakes and wouldn't need any repair work done today. He recommended I return in 20,000 miles and have them look again. I appreciate Kent's honestly and transparency! I will continue to be a patron and recommend anyone else to do the same.

Needed wheel hub and roaters turned and brake pads (on the front) he did a great job at a very reasonable price. Didn't say I needed anything I did not. And is honest if there is something they can not do. I do all my business with brakes with Thrifty.

The best brake shop in Kokomo! They will look over your brakes and give you their opinion on the spot. Their work is professional and expertly done. I've taken all my vehicles here for several years and have always been treated well and have never had any recurring problems.

Horrible business was just trying to throw parts at the problem. Literally price quotes jumped by the hundreds.. replaced parts that were fine. Spent $260 for my van to have worse brakes than what it did before I took it thereService: BrakesService: Brakes

I took our car in to get the brakes checked out. They didn't charge me for the brake inspection, and they were nice enough, BUT... the quote they gave me was more than $1,300, and I took the car someplace else and got the same work done for $400.

Inflated repairs. I was told I needed, two new calipers, two new rotors, and two sets of brake pads. He told me both of the rear calipers were leaking when he didn't even remove both sides to check. I know because when I started to break the bolts loose there was road debris that came loose that would have if he had removed the bolts himself. Scam. My estimate was for $736.00 dollars when all I needed was one caliper that was $111.23!

Went in because my brakes were grinding. They checked it out and told me that I m going to need new brakes, roaters and calipers and it was going to cost $585. So I took it into the mechanic I normally go to(marathon on washington) and they quoted me $450. Went to pick up my car at marathon and was told that my calipers are perfectly fine and he doesn t know what he(thrifty brakes) is talking about.Either they tried to scamming me, or they re completely clueless.

They are always good, fair and affordable. They will be honest about what needs to be done now, what can wait, and approximately how long it can wait. I now live about a hour away. I still come to them because I can trust them. I know they will take care of me.

I came in for a pad and possible rotor replacement on the FRONT wheels only. He takes all the wheels off, looks at it.....all of the sudden, not only do i need new pads and rotors on the front wheels, i also need new pads and rotors on the back wheels (nevermind the fact that i just had the back ones professionally changed 2 months ago) AND my calipers were "all rusted" and needed replaced. Told him to put my wheels back on and im leaving. I wish i would have told him what i really thought (so i am doing it now! He's a damn crook!) I took it to a more trustworthy auto shop and all they did was dust my calipers and they have been working fine since. They changed my front pads and rotors like i originally wanted and ive been good since. The other mechanic also said whoever said the back brakes needed changed is a damned fool. They had pleeeeeenty of life left on them... As i suspected. Moral of story: Dont go here! The guy i dealt with was either a damn crook or ignorant as hell

Well my husband took his truck to Thrifty Brake the other day and they gave him a quote for a front wheel bearing and hub for $220 and that didn't include labor. Well; come to find out he doesn't even need all that. The ONLY thing wrong was one of the bolts was loose on the hub. So; if you are thinking about using an extremely DISHONEST company then I guess go ahead and go there but I don't care if I broke down in their parking lot, I would my vehicle towed somewhere else. It is such a shame that you can't find an HONEST company anymore. SO VERY DISAPPOINTED!
