The worst place that you can take your car to. Not recommended at all ! I took my car for a minor repair the charged me $875 and claimed that they changed thermostat but the car broke down the next day I tow the car back to shop they said we can t fix it you need to change the whole engine and take it to Ford itself, didn t give any refund. no accountability at all they just need your money and they don t give a F

I've always felt Castleton Auto is honest about what your car needs and their prices are fair. Auto repair is always a bit scary due to the fact the customer knows so little about their car. However, of the many places I've taken a car for repair, I am the least afraid of Castleton Auto. Their work is finished timely as well.

Castleton Auto Repair is wonderful! The owner Toby is very kind, down to earth, honest, informative, and communicates well. They are reasonably priced, and will even tell you when something doesn t need repaired, unlike many places that try to take advantage of customers. Keep up the good work!

Way over charged me(700)for a ball joint/control arm. I didn't have a choice as I was going out of town. Didn't fix all of the problem and I was told I also needed new shocks and struts. Also, the wheels were out of alignment and they gave me a bad case of "torc steer". Took it back for that and said they couldn't do anything.Took it to my regular shop and replaced a suspension rod and balanced the tires for $150 vs another $1000. NEVER AGAIN, Castleton Auto. Avoid!Service: Steering & suspension repair

Great experiences every time and great people to deal with. Nothing but good experience on multiple vehicles. They have a returning customer :)

I've taken both my vehicles to this shop for a few of years. More than once, I've been astonished by their honesty in telling me I didn't need something. In my experience, I've always been very satisfied with their work performance. Repairs always done correctly, auto returned in a timely manner and prices appear to be fair. Facility is also clean unlike many other garages I've encountered over the years.

2nd time there. Had no defrost or air in my car. They said it would be later that day or next day. That was it . They called at 2:30pm and said it would be around $800 to repair, which I did not have. So I told them no repairs then. I went to get my car and Andy said "that will be $125.00. For What! They said NOTHING to me about this when I dropped off my car. For doing nothing. What a RIPOFF!Service: Air conditioning

I haven't been there in awhile but I remember the last time I went. My hood wouldn't shut all the way. One of the mechanics fixed it right there in the parking lot and I was on my way again. He was very helpful and polite. I will be returning there!

I have had service previously with Castleton Auto Repair and found their work to be 'top-notch.' The necessary fluids (coolant, brake and power steering) were flushed and replaced. They found a problem with the rear brakes due to a faulty emergency brake cable which caused serious damage to one rear wheel - apparently been causing brake pad drag to the extent that the pads were completely worn down and damage to the rotor occurred. This problem was not found by another auto repair operation just a week earlier!I can trust them to do their work with excellence and timeliness.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Steering & suspension repair, Brakes

Do not bring your car here. This place is a rip-off when my mother told me what they were charging I did my research and found out that they were charging her $350 for a $100 part. I decided to call the shop and ask if we purchased the part could they just charge us labor a man says sure but the cost of labor will be double, I advised my mother of the rip off they were running but she had already had her car towed there so my mother spoke with the owners wife who tried to assure that this was the best price then they offered to give her a discount. When they finished the work the quoted the same price from the beginning my mother then asked about the discount to which the man because of your daughter I won t give a penny off. This man is rude and racist please do not bring your car here.

Took my Vette in for an alignment this morning. Asked to have it done by noon, if they weren't too busy. Jim, didn't make promises but said they would try and get to it as soon as they could. Got a call around 11:00 this morning saying it was all done. Walked over to pick it up and was charged a lot less for the alignment than anywhere else on this side of town. What a wonderful surprise! Their competitor's wanted to charge me a lot more. This is the second time I've had them work on my Vette, not counting and oil change. I will keep on using them from my repairs. Thank you Castleton Auto Repair for the fair price and fast service!!

Update: Took my van to a reputable auto shop and found out that 3 out of 5 of my driver front wheel studs were broken. I'm told I was lucky my wheel didn't come off on the interstate. Not only could I have died, but it cost me another $250 and a day off work to repair the damage Castleton Auto did to my vehicle. I emailed CA's owner, Toby Trump, to make him aware of this and to let him know that I still feel a refund of the $270 I paid to have my van damaged is fair. I haven't heard back. Shameful!I've never left a bad review before for any business ever, but I'm stunned at how poorly I was treated at Castleton Auto. I try to do most auto repairs myself since I'm on a very tight single mom budget, but I needed help getting my synchronizer timed properly and took it to Toby and the crew at Castelton Auto last week. I was charged $270 and am told by other mechanics that the bill shouldn't at all have been so high, but I was just glad to have it done. When I drove my van home after they timed it, there was a very loud clanking noise coming from my wheel that got worse the longer I drove. Took it back to CA the next day and the technician said that he accidentally forgot to tighten my lugnuts on the driver front wheel. He tightened them, I thanked him, and left. On my way home and over the next couple days, I noticed that front driver wheel was wobbling (the shake was noticeable and made my steering wheel shimmy). I called and asked if they'd take a look at it to see if driving with loose lugnuts could have possibly damaged my hub or bearing. Toby told me to bring it in and I did. He called a few hours later and told me I owe him $90 for his time and that the hub & bearing are fine...no damage was caused by their accidentally leaving my lugnuts loose. I respectfully let him know that my wheel didn't have that wobble before this and he told me he'd put new tires on it for $499. I told him I didn't have the money for new tires right now and he started literally yelling at me in the lobby. Told me I was wasting his time and that I should get off his property and find another mechanic. I was surprised at how irate he was...I was being calm and trying to be patient, but I could hardly get a word in as he berated me. I told Toby and his wife that I'm happy to take it to another mechanic, but that I just spent almost $300 that I could barely afford to have my van become dangerous to drive (I can't go over 60mph without it shaking so much, that it feels like the wheel could come off). When I asked if he'd be willing to do a partial refund, he yelled at me to get off his property and that he'd call the cops. I waited in the rain in the parking lot hoping he'd have the chance to calm down and talk with me to find a solution. No such luck. I just don't get it. I'll be contacting the BBB and the State Attorney Consumer Affairs Dept and I'll be leaving this review on every website I can find to warn others about giving their business to the rude and incompetent Castleton Auto.

I have taken my cars there for years even though I live near Mooresville. I trust them. They tell you when NOT to do service and are really great. I read some other reviews and couldn't believe the stuff people said. They must have been a really random mistake because I have had nothing but great luck with them. I have my mom and wife take there cars there too. They're GREAT and reasonable.
