If I could leave 0 stars I would I had cash in the glove compartment and they took it. I also had cologne that s was over $100 and they took it as well so if you go make sure you take your valuable things

Giving 4 stars because I dropped my car off at 9 and did not get it back until 2:30 p.m. sorta inconvenient to say the least. But they always give great service. A discount would have been nice seeing I paid over a grand for services rendered. But I guess hard times are effecting all businesses.

Mike, the manager, is very wonderful! All of the employees are great. Wouldn't go anywhere else for any vehicle issues!

Major over charge on my car, got an estimate for ~2600 to replace a bunch of different parts. Took it to my mechanic friend to have a look and they said it was just a piece of tape that had been swept up into the car. Fixed in 10 seconds. I m disappointed and feel I was almost taken advantage of.

The guys were up front, did what I asked and didn t try to add unnecessary repairs or charges to my bill. My repairs were done quickly and efficiently - sooner than I d anticipated actually. The shop saw my vehicle on Wednesday evening to diagnose a rattling and loud engine noise. I brought the vehicle back Thursday morning to get my exhaust replaced. The team had the repairs done by mid afternoon and I was able to pick it up after work the same day. Mike at the shop was very helpful the whole time. He explained what they were doing and also explained all the warranties given for the work. I was happy with the work done. I thought the price was fair. The exhaust was rattling after work was done, so I called and brought it back the next day. They were able to adjust some of the exhaust attachments while I waited and now the rattling is gone. I arrived after work yesterday a little before 4 and my breaks were making a terrible noise. My husband had changed the front ones before going overseas but never got to the back ones and I just knew I had waited to long and the damage would be bad and it was terrible. Mr.Mike told me as soon as I walked it it wouldn t be done the same day I asked him to please just come look I was scared I would not make it home and of course he agreed after looking . He then decided he would make sure he fit me in and also saved me a lot of money ! This place deserves all the stars ! And it was less than an hour he went out of his way ! I will forever be grateful it s nice to know we still have good people in todays crazy world

I went for CLUTCH REPAIR end up giving the title of my car. Bc just opening the car without repairing cost $1kI was told that literally everything that has to do with the clutch needed to be repairEven though a had the clutch fixed a year ago for $2kSo when they start working they mention another $800 repair, then one more expensive RepairI ask not to do anything since it was going to be more and more expensive, but just disassembling cost $1kSo they got my car, and I left with nothing...

The shop manager Rocco and his right hand, Wayne, were extremely helpful and accommodating to an issue the Car-X shop in Springfield, IL created. Despite not being responsible, they scheduled time to diagnose the real issue for my vehicle and did so free of charge. The entire staff at this location was friendly and provided multiple opinions to determine what needed to be fixed. Although it took multiple tries, they remained patient and willing to help. Although they are generally busy, they went out of their way to help me. I am glad that at least at this location, the culture is directed towards helping their customers.

The assistant manager did an AMAZING job changing the rotors on my car. The service provided was fast, professional & efficient. Five stars: highly recommend for the personal attention to detail!!!

The guy who did my oil change did some things wrong. He did not reset the oil meter and dud not calculate the right time for the next pill change. Two days after the oil change happened, my SUV was telling me it was time for an oil change. They quickly fixed the errors when I could get back in. Still, thus should have never have happened this way.

I took my car in for loud exhaust noise. I was told I needed a Resonator and it would cost me almost $800. I declined the repairs and when I went over the written estimate they were putting on an entire new exhaust system. I took my car to another business and come to find out my Resonator was fine and the only problem was I had a hole in the top of my muffler. $650 cheaper..... my car is quiet and no problems!!! Beware of these ripoff people... especially women who I guess they think don't know any better!!!

I was not impressed with the place at all. I went in to get a nail removed from my tire. They never called me when the job was completed, and then when I went to pick it up, I noticed they just threw the spare in the trunk without putting it in the compartment. About 5 minutes after picking it up, the check engine light came on. I just had my car looked at a week ago, and Nissan dealership said it was in great condition. They also didn t fix the low tire pressure light so I had to go in a second time and that took 4 hours to get fixed. Then when I asked what the check engine light was for the guy at the desk was very rude and said I d have to pay $90 for a diagnostic.

After my wheel bearings blew up recently, I ended up trying to find a maintenance place near my office. I'm so glad that I decided to bring my vehicle to this Car-X! The staff was super friendly and helpful -- both in answering all of my questions, not ripping me off in price, and they even gave me a detailed walk-through of what they were going to do to my truck/what the issue is. If you're in need of a place to get your car fixed, I'd recommended Car-X!

I use to know a few of the worker there, so I felt confident and safe that I wouldn't get taken advantage of, but I continue to go because they do an exceptional job. They ALWAYS tell me what's wrong with my car, and give me quotes before I decide to do anything. This last visit was just for an oil change and tire rotation. But they went above and beyond and fixed the hood of my car that hasn't latched in over a year without charging me. I didn't even notice til I got home. I instantly had to call back and THANK them. I'm a single mom with an OLD car that needs to last me, and I can ALWAYS count on Car x to keep me and my daughter safe and rolling @ a reasonable price.

Always great service by a very professional and well-trained crew! I enjoy every service visit and feel confident in entrusting them with the knowledgeable care of my vehicles. (Oil change & tires rotated. Bought tires here this summer.) 12-15-2012Update (12-22-2012): Returned to have my other vehicle serviced. It was "oil change" time again. Also, bought new tires for it and had other work done. I have absolutely NOTHING bad to say about the professional, courteous, and skilled services offered by the fine folks at the N. Michigan Road location. I am ALWAYS pleased with the way James Curry (Asst. Mgr.) ensures that both my vehicles are taken care of and the helpful advice given to proactively keep them running at their best! He doesn't show favoritism and is fantastic with EVERY customer, whether present or on the phone! Always keeping busy, but NEVER too busy to help! Thanks! =)UPDATE 2016: WOW... just, WOW... How could something that was so good for so long go wrong? I had to change my 5-star rating to 1-star!!! After years of trusting this location, it seems that over my last few visits they've keep "finding" new problems that mysteriously weren't problems during my last oil change. I come in expecting to just do my routine oil change, brakes check, and tire rotation and EVERYTIME they tell me something needs replaced costing hundreds of dollars!!! I'm done with Car-X. They betrayed my years of loyalty by scamming me. I'm taking my business elsewhere. >:(

They worked on my Toyota 4runner 08... That was amazing experience with this location. Then when I went back for something else they didn't even ask for money they just tightened up and have me double check cause I'm good on cars too then handled my key I was good to go. Dealership quote was $1850 I only pay $344 at this location this is 2nd yr since they worked on my 4runner .. Running great. Thanks again car X

Jimmy, the mechanic said that he was "Positive" that my radiator was the problem, and there weren't any underlying issues. i overpay them to replace my radiator, and now he says it's a thermostat problem that he wants $200 for. On top of all that he told me that he was doing me a favor.....After this post they reached out to see if there was anything else they can do, which I appreciate, but there's nothing else that can be done. I don't think they are bad mechanics. I just wish they would have listened to me in the first place, and understood my situation.

My family member brought her car there because she believed it was overheating. The next day they checked and said she has a cracked heater core and it will cost $1,100.00 to repair. I called and asked them to bypass it since it's not needed for the summer. They told me they don't do that. That's already a red flag. Then I had another mechanic check it. Heater core is just fine. No cracks or leaks. Coolant full. Just needed a tune up. Businesses like that should be held accountable for lying to people just to get a buck.
