I took my 2000 Mercedes SL500 to Autohaus Merkle to have the top hydraulics serviced and was immediately impressed by their knowledge and professionalism. They knew exactly what needed to be done and gave me what turned out to be an excellent estimate on how long it would take. I had done some online research, via R129 owners groups, etc., about what it might cost, and the price they quoted me was much less than than expected. While they had it I thought of a few other things to have them take a look at and they handled everything efficiently as well.

The group is a joke. I initially brought them by daugthers bmw in because it would shut off while idling at the light. The gave me a laundry list of things it could be and replaced all the items stated. The assured us they road tested the vehicle prior to delivery and that the issue was resolved. Thus, while picking up my daughters bmw, we dropped off her Mercedes for an estimate on repairs for the front brakes. Not even a day later, the bmw breaks down again, doing the exact same thing we originally brought the vehicle in for. Mind you at this point we ve paid them $3k for failed repairs. We paid to tow the bmw to them, and they stated the newly replaced computer that they installed, needed programed again. But why as they just had the vehicle for this less than 24 hrs prior? The reprogramed the computer and said the vehicle was ready. Of course less than 24 hrs driving it again, the vehicle stalls. Mind you they already have the Mercedes and we are dealing with their failed work on the bmw still. With the bmw broken down yet a second time, we weren t confident in taking the vehicle back to them a third time for failed work to the tune of $3k. Thus we took the vehicle to ress motors Indianapolis, and they solved the issue in less than 4 hours of having the vehicle and for less than $500. The bmw has worked perfectly since. Thus, Auto Haus are simply parts changers, and were guessing as to why the vehicle kept stalling. To compound this matter further, I asked Auto Haus to reimburse us for the failed repairs and two towing expenses, due to their failed repairs. The group failed to recognize or compensate us for the said failed repairs. Furthermore, Auto Haus never gave us a written estimate for the Mercedes, but commenced to make unauthorized repairs, unauthorized credit card charges using the card on file from the bmw, and proceeded to charge storage fees. These issues have now become legal matters. Auto Haus has made zero efforts to refund us for the failed repairs and relating damages incurred on the bmw, and has made unauthorized repairs on the Mercedes, including unauthorized credit card charges, and storage fees. Instead of being grateful for paying clients, honoring said repairs, and being respectful, this group placed a fraudulent lien on my daughter Mercedes.Avoid this group or you will be in court trying to recover from their failed repairs and fraudulent business practices. Do your research on Indiana my case. These guys have been sued countless times, almost two lawsuits per year in business. That speaks volumes alone. Then the other google reviews of clients experiencing the same rude and unprofessional behavior, combined with terrible repairs. Avoid them. Go to a dealership or find a better group that honors their repairs and clients.

1st time using this garage and this is the place that ill be using from now on. The dealer I've been using had diagnosed a problem that was going to cost $$$$, so called around and after talking to Paul decided to have them look at it. They knew right away what the problem was which saved me alot of $$$.After talking to Scott & Paul and realizing they are an Authorized APR dealer, I also decided to get a K04 Turbo, intake, Stage III tune & exhaust done. Been driving it now for a couple weeks and haven't had any issues. This is a small business that has survived 20+ years on quality work. If your in a hurry and can't wait for quality work, go to a dealer. If you want knowledgeable employees that take pride in what they do, Theze are the Guys!Services: Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

I took my 2016 Volkswagen Golf into Autohaus for a diagnostic and repair for an intermittent gremlin. The team was so helpful and friendly, and they worked with me to solve the problem. Of course, it took a couple of tries to figure out the source of the issue, but once they had it figured out the repair was done quickly and saved me a lot more in my wallet than I had gone in there expecting I would have to pay. Paul is funny, and works great with customers, and Scott is very friendly and super knowledgeable. I have noticed in my time with Autohaus Merkle that they have a lot of established regulars who choose to bring in their vehicles for routine services and repairs, and that speaks volumes to me as a consumer. I will definitely be bringing my Volkswagen back to Autohaus Merkle.Services: Electrical repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Paul and the team at Autohaus Merkle shoot it straight and get it done. As a 1st time Mercedes owner, I am still a little paranoid that every type or repair/service will cost 5X and become a whole ordeal because it's a foreign car brand; Autohaus Merkle pleasantly surprises me every time! In the past, I've gone in for a standard oil change and this time I had a few items services (oil change, low bulb replacement, wiper blade replacement, brake pad replacement). The total price for all of these items was so reasonable my husband and I couldn't believe it!Bonus points to Paul -My husband and I bought the car gently used and the driver seat had a small tear. Over time the tear grew and became a bit of an eyesore, especially compared to otherwise great condition of the car. Paul explained this is a normal issue on Mercedes interiors and explained that they had somone who could completely replace the affected leather and fix the seat. We took him up on this and IT LOOKS SO GREAT! Can't get over it.Will be taking our German cars to Autohaus Merkle as long as we're Indy residents. Love that we now have a service center we know and trust.

Rude employee at the front. Gave me horrible attitude and tone in response to my questions and responses. Also proceeded to give an estimate $800 for an oil change and change in sensor, despite the sensor costing $200. Overall very rude employee that made me feel uncomfortable to ask questions about what was going on with my vehicle. He was belittling to me, a customer that did not know much about cars. I also called to ask if my car was ready for pickup and he proceeded to give me a tone and attitude about how I did not pick up the phone call in the morning, even though I was busy taking an exam. Don't know if he was just having a bad day, I tried to be nice anyways because that's how I was raised, but that experience ruined my days and I will not be going to this company for further work on my vehicle. I would advise to treat your customers with basic human respect even if they do not know much about cars.

THANKS FOR THE HUGE DOOR DING! I paid the $700 bill for an oil change and rear brakes with no question, grabbed the keys to my car and headed home. I called the shop and left a message the moment I arrived because upon wiping it down, I noticed what appears to be a large door ding as shown in the picture. The next day I was told it couldn't have happened while on their property and they had already reviewed the security footage. He would not share the footage with me when I asked and he failed to discuss the part where they had test driven my car off the property before and after service. I am not looking for a handout. I was just hoping they would apologize and fix the damage that occurred while in their possession. I had another service scheduled in a few weeks so it could have been taken care of then. I am very frustrated as I thought I had finally found my go-to service center for my Mercedes. My car did not have one single door ding until now. Upset would be an complete understatement.Services: Brakes, Oil change

Dealership quoted me $2600 for new brakes, decided to look elsewhere for a quote. Was quoted for a significantly lower price, ~$1300 for the same service here. I dropped off my vehicle and they gave me a call an hour later saying I don t need new brakes at all. Honest, straight to the point, they ll be seeing my business again soon.

The team at Autohaus Merkle provides great customer oriented service. They were able to diagnose the reason for a noise issue my Audi A4 developed. While my dealership suggested to replace a perfectly fine part, the mechanics at Autohaus Merkle could not only locate the issue but also saved me significant costs and time at the dealership. They are highly knowledgeable when it comes to German cars and trustworthy. If you are looking for a place that has the expertise at a competitive price point you will be in good hands.

Paul is just fabulous. A customer hit my vehicle in the parking lot after it was repaired. Paul notified me and helped me through the entire claims process as well as grabbing the persons information before they could drive off. Also , kept me updated throughout entire process of what I brought my car in for originally. Autohause Merkle truly looks out for the best interest of the customer. Great service. Great guys. Would recommend to anyone and everyone !Services: Electrical repair, Battery

I had some issues with my 2014 Audi s4. I was extremely selective in choosing the right mechanic, I am happy that I found autohaus merkle. They have trained audi techs that are very experienced with the 3.0t engine.Took a bit to get my car worked on but it seems like July is a busy month for mechanics, once they started working on my car it was ready in a couple days.Highly recommend Autohaus!

My husband has a real BMW addiction! We looked for years for a decent shop that actually knew how to work on BMWs that was fair. We were so thankful to have found them! It s been well over 5 years of doing business with them and we are always so happy to have them! They are helpful, kind and above all else knowledgeable and honest! We will never take our cars anywhere else!

We had Autohaus Merkle work on our cars after a friend referred us to them, saying only good things about the staff. The first car they worked on was our Jetta TDI with a bad clutch. They fixed it without issues. When we got it back, I noticed a little more noise than I remembered having. Since it's my wife's car, I don't drive it much. They looked it over without charge. We were told it was the transmission, and they didn't recommend doing anything else right now; a watch and wait situation. Any other shop would have immediately recommended a new transmission. The second car was an Audi TDI. It needed the defrost motor replaced. They took the car and replaced it without issue and for the price they originally quoted me. I haven't had any issues since. The staff have always been great to work with. Paul is the guy I speak with the most. He even saved me $1500 on an unnecessary fix the Avon VW service center told me I needed. My Audi had an air bag light that was on. Avon VW diagnossed it and where going to charge me $1500. I called Paul and he looked it up while I was on the phone. He let me know that it was a recall and stated the dealership should have told me. I took it to the Audi dealership and it was replaced at no cost due to the recall. I truly believe Autohaus Merkle is a very reputable company which has been around for a long time for this reason.Services: Electrical repair, Transmission repair

Recommended by a friend, AHM were the only shop in town willing to take care of mounting winter tires on my 2004 C4S, including the correct spacers. Scott and Paul were totally helpful and knowledgeable about older Porsches--honest, transparent, and explained everything cearly. Installed a DOF to deal with 996 bearing issues. No problems, no complaints. My go-to garage now.Services: Transmission, Tires, Oil change

I tow my car to this good for nothing shop, I have never been to a shop that reject service before, they charge me for diagnose. Telling me my car is too damaged to repair, I tow the car to dealer dealer only charge me for changing the transmission harness with programming that's all. I don't think they have the brain, they only work on obvious issues on a car, maybe change to change ur breaks and oil, VOLKSWAGEN DEALER ON 16TH STREET NEAR DOWNTOWN will give u good deals, will also give you the option of TO USE USED PART, if to don't know what's wrong with your car and need diagnose THIS IS NOT THE BEST PLACE TO GO,Service: Transmission

This year I was finally able to do a performance upgrade on my 2015 Audi A3 thanks to the team at Autohaus. I had been putting it off because I had something over the top and expensive in mind, and it never seemed to make practical sense. Paul helped me find a way to get exactly what I wanted (more power and a little more sound) for a lot cheaper, and a LOT less risk to my car. If not for him I would still be driving around stock. Oh, and I am thrilled with how it turned out too! My car is much more fun to drive. These guys are German car enthusiasts who happen to work on German cars for a living. I'm much more confident in their work than any other place in town I've taken my German cars to in the past (both dealerships and other independents). I will keep coming back.

This review is about a month overdue, but I took my Audi in to get an oil change, heat fixed, and tires checked. Oil change was completed without a problem. My heater ended up needing a part ordered which took 2 days to receive. I understood parts need to be ordered and take time to receive. I called no more than one time daily and politely asked for any updates on the part and was spoken to rudely as if I was an extreme annoyance to ask for any update.I also asked them to take a look at my steering/tires since I noticed there has been a weird stuttering feeling while turning the steering wheel all the way both directions. I was assured there was nothing wrong with the steering and they told me it must has always been like that and that's just the way my tires grip the road. I do not know much about cars, but after several more weeks of this I decided to check my tire pressure to see if that could be it. Turns out my tire pressure is extremely low. I assumed this was checked during my visit, but I guess not.I took my car here to save some extra money rather than bring it to the Audi dealership. However, in the future I will pay the extra money at the dealership to avoid being spoke to rudely and a spare the company a huge inconvenience when asking for updates.Services: Tires, Oil change

I left a five star review four years ago, and they still deserve a five star review today. In the last fifteen years, I've owned seven BMWs and one Audi, and I've had service done at most of the established German auto shops around Indianapolis, and I can confidently say that Autohaus Merkle is the best. They are extremely knowledgeable and love what they do, and it shows in the pride they take with their work and customer service. We will continue to make the hour drive to have them service any of our German cars.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Body & Trim, Brakes, Air conditioning, Brake service & repair, Battery, Oil change
