Gonna try to keep this short. Took my truck jn for the transmission slipping. Got the truck back 3 days later AJ s said the transmission was rebuilt cost me $5,200. Leave the shop and instantly there s still slipping around 40 mph. Call the shop they tell me to drive it for a while. End up taking the truck back they keep it for a week and tell me there s nothing wrong. I get the truck back start driving it and start recording it every time it slips. Take the truck back and they keep it for 2 weeks for warranty work. I go to pick the truck up after being told it s ready again and I m charged $1,200 and I leave and the transmission is still doing the same thing. Drive the truck as they as they tell me too and still slipping. Take the truck back yet again and they have it for two more weeks remember I m paying for a rental this whole time they have my truck. Get the truck back after they said they replaced the valve body to the transmission and guess what it s still slipping. Not once did they pull the transmission to see if maybe something was done incorrectly when being rebuilt. The rebuilt the transmission in under 3 days and spent 5 weeks with it for warranty work and cost me almost 10k. Check engine light was in when I picked up the truck last which I m gonna take to a different shop to resolve after all the issues here

Love these guys! They have taken such great care of me and my truck when I had issues with it. They not only rebuilt my transmission ,replaced the batteries and fix various bad lines that were no good. Got me back on the road in no time thanks again guys!

Definitely not a frequent review posting person here submitting this (and if I do it is generally because someone did something great that I wanted to recognize), but a very frustrated client today. Over the years, I have probably spent $15,000 - $20,000 taking vehicles to this provider and recently had an issue with an employee's truck. Three weeks ago, he was hearing something and said he had a problem with the back end. I told him to take it to AJ's and let them diagnose. They looked at the back end, said they saw nothing... then said the problem was in another place. We paid $1,077 for those repairs and then went on with our lives. Last week, low and behold the rear end broke while driving. The same problem we asked them to look at 3 weeks ago. They then asked for $2,500 - $3,000 to rebuild the core to fix the problem. Two issues with this for others to be aware of. First, that's $500 to $1,000 more than competitors, which is just an awareness issue. Second, they charged $157.00 to "diagnose" the same problem we brought to them 3 weeks ago that we already paid $1,077 to fix something else. You might look at this review and think I'm crazy, but I simply cannot imagine charging a diagnosing fee for something a client brought to me 3 weeks before and we accidentally missed. I told the manager I wasn't mad about the $1,077 as we gave our approval to fix what they saw (assuming they were the experts, right?)... but I was furious about the $157.00 diagnosing fee after going through that process only 3 weeks ago. I own a business and would NEVER think to do that. The manager said how did he know we didn't go destroy the core on purpose in the 3 weeks we had the vehicle back? Consider this an awareness post. Our experience in the last month was not good. I'm not saying they are terrible, but I certainly can't trust them anymore. And to be clear, my frustration and the source of taking the time to type this is only about the diagnostic fee. I don't think they ignored our comments and misdiagnosed the problem 3 weeks ago on purpose, but I did tell the manager when I was in there that I was bothered by the diagnostic fee, so much so that I gave him a choice. I said I have my credit card right here and if you want that $157, take my card and charge it, but know I am going to go back to my office and let the world know how you do business. Or, you can waive that fee as you should and we will take the truck elsewhere and it is what it is. He chose to take the card and hit it for the $157.00. Do what you will with that in your decision making process for your vehicle.

Came here a few years ago because another transmission shop tried to fool me into a full transmission repair on my VW Beetle, even though I knew exactly what the issue was. It was just something I could get to on my own. I came to AJ's and explained the code I was getting and that I'd experienced it before. Their quote for IF I needed the full repair was half the cost of there other place. However, they listened to what I had to say and agreed that it was the issue. Saved me thousands of dollars and treated me with respect. Highly recommend this place!Service: Transmission

Honest, friendly guys that solved what ended up being an easy fix for my F150 and clearly explained what was wrong and the options for my Mazda which needed a full rebuild. While I didn't proceed with fixing the Mazda (car wasn't worth fixing), I would gladly use their services again. Highly recommended as you won't get taken advantage of and will be given full details, circumstances, and options.

The only place to go for automotive needs in Indy. Easy access off I-74. Great prices. Great staff. The owner, Jason, is very friendly and honest about repairs and pricing. Dropped my car off in the evening a little after 5 and they stayed so they could park my car behind the gate. Looked at it Friday morning and had it done Monday afternoon.Fast, knowledgeable, and a good price!

I had called all over town for someone to put a ECM in my 2007 KIA Spectra with no luck. I happened to see AJs and stopped in and talked to Anthony. He found an ECM online, programmed it and installed it. KIA now running great!

I had the worst experience I've ever had with a mechanic at AJ's. I took my work truck in to repair the transmission. After two weeks I paid and got it back, but thirty minutes down the road the truck just died and wouldn't start again. I had it towed back. My truck sat at AJ's for a week and they never looked at it again. I ended up having to have the truck towed across the street to address the problem because I couldn't continue to wait for AJ's to find the time. Within half a day the other mechanic found that several connections were put back incorrectly and got my truck was running fine.There were other issues that made the experience bad, but the gist of my experience with AJ's was very bad service and a truck that still didn't run after three weeks and $4000. I would recommend you do not do business with this company. Very lacking in integrity or any kind of interest in doing things right.Services: Transmission, Transmission repair

They fixed my transmission on a honda pilot. The third gear started missing six months later and I took it back and they fixed it ,at no charge and said if I have that problem happen again , bring it back they will fix it, at no charge. They also do many other things for your car.

I took my 2004 PT Cruiser to AJ's because it needed a left front wheel bearing. I figured that since my car has 100,000 miles, i might as well change both of them. I purchased the bearings online. I buy my parts online because many shops charge 100% mark up on parts. I gave him the 2 sets of bearings and expected him to replace both of them. He charged me labor for both of them, but less than 1000 miles later the right front bearing starting making the same "squealing" noise. I called him to ask if he had indeed changed both of them out and he said that he had no recollection of working on my car. At that point i figured that i dont want him to work on my car any longer so i purchased another bearing online and had it fixed at another shop. It bugs me that someone is dishonest to say they fixed something when they didn't, but then to keep the part that i gave him is theft.

Honest and good work. New clutch and full rebuilt transmission. Truck shifts like it did when it was new. Very good price for full tranny and clutch rebuild on 5 speed diesel truck.

Sad, we were quoted a lower price, then when we went to pay was given a higher price on parts and labor. Was told oh well, pay it. Beware, get it in writing.
