Each time I go there I am surprised by how great the price is. I've had the pleasure of meeting Mr Hickman who is also the primary mechanic. The only downside is the appointment time. They are so good they're booked often a few days out

The Hickmans are genuine, honest people. I appreciate the time they spend to explain the issues. They are considerate and truthful people. I was a customer of midwest in Lake Station until I found Hickmans! They have work on my 27 year old car and have always done a great job at a reasonable price! The best service they offer Is their customer service. Very polite, very considerate. They make you feel like you're talking to family. I highly recommend this place.

This is best automotive service in the area! They are extremely fair, no they are better than fair. If you want you car to be looked at by a meticulous professional who is not going to gouge your pocket book, then look no further than Hickmans! Love those guys and gal over there!

Number 1 mechanics in the area. I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years and wouldn't dare go to another mechanic. If you want something repaired right the first time, you go see the crew at Hickman's. Quality parts, fair labor rates and excellent service.

Hickman's is the best Auto Service Station around. I'm glad to have found them after moving from here from Michigan. They are friendly and do a great job fixing cars.

They are friendly , honest , reliable, dependable and trustworthy . Dwayne and Vernon have been doing Automotive repair work for a very long time, I would highly recommend their work and expertise over any dealership.

I've called about 5 Automotive shops in Hobart and everyone was able to give me a quote on my tire rod that needed to be replaced. This shop was the only shop that said they couldn't give me a quote over the phone without looking at the vehicle first. Sorry, but this means to me they aren't to be trusted.

Hickman' is the most trustworthy shop on Hobart. I have been taking my cars to them since they were Lake George Marathon on Wisconsin Street. Side note... to Brittany B...first, it's a tie rod not a tire rod. Second, I can promise you if someone quotes over the phone and then after looking at the car finds that it requires less work than was quoted they are not going to change the quote. And if they get it apart and find more work needs to be done(i.e. rack & pinion) they are going to tell you to pay for the additional work OR they will charge the labor to put the car back together. Take it to a place where they evaluate things in advance of giving you a quote, and avoid both scenarios.

I called for something really basic: put in a new sway arm link. They replied that they don't quote unless they get the car i the shop. That makes my alarm bells go off because they could have said: "if there is nothing else we find it typically xxx$ for the part and this much labor". So I find this suspect behavior. 3 others quoted me just fine over the phone.

Always honest, great work, reasonable prices. Only down side is it sometimes takes weeks to get an appointment. Still worth it.

Always have been great- had a "flattening" tire this morning and they stopped (i interupted) what they were doing fixed my tire...so I could continue my work day....pretty cool...Merry Christmas!
