Worst place for car repairs, and even worse when it comes to customer service.I brought my car in to get my brakes repaired and spent roughly $500 as a result. Less than a week later, I was having similar car issues. I took my car to another mechanic shop for a second opinion, and that's when I was notified that my Right Front Brake Pad fell off. The mechanic at the second shop told me that my car was not drive-able due to the damages, and that it would need to get towed back to AutoFix since my car was still under warranty. AutoFix REFUSES to pay for the tow simply because I took my car to another shop for a second opinion. I find this to be extremely sketchy as a business. Because essentially I paid for a service that they did not fulfill, and actually caused more damages to my car. Instead of AutoFix taking accountability to rectify the problem, and to satisfy their customers (which by the way, I already paid $500 to get my brakes fixed), they refuse to help the situation because I took my car to another shop ONLY FOR A SECOND OPINIONBasically, sketchy company with questionable quality of service on repairs. They'll only take your money and won't actually fix your carService: Brakes

Excellent service. Went in to get brakes inspected and replaced. They reported that the brakes (despite the squeeking) had plenty of wear left. So I didn't need any replacement and they didn't even charge me for the brake inspection. Thanks! They've also done good tire work for me in the past.Services: Tires, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

Service was excellent. I had basic engine light issues, they diagnosed and fixed it all quickly. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Also had an oil change done at Duke of Oil next door, service was equally fabulous and fast for a good price.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

First time going to AutoFix and it was great! The desk staff was so friendly and helpful. Very honest, which is good in the car business. They were able to fix my car within a few hours and updated me frequently. I came in for an alignment.I got all the necessary stuff that needs to be repaired on my truck before I came to get an alignment. Guy came out and told me I need ball joints replaced and it will cost another $1000 before they perform alignment.I got everything replaced before i walk in there and they want to replace the already replaced parts

extremely pricey, employees are rude and the work they do is not even good. they fixed an exhaust leak on my car and the welds were garbage and looked like a 5 year old welded my exhaust. it still had a leak after their so called repair I was very dissatisfied with the work of this establishment

In March of 2021 I brought my car in (a 2012 Nissan Sentra) to get my brakes and rotors replaced costing me $885.35. Five months later I had to bring my car back because their were grinding and screeching noise every time I used the brake. We got it fixed.Less than a year later I had to come back because my steering wheel shakes aggressively whenever I brake on the expressway. They tell me that my rotors are warped, their are heat spots, and I need a new replacement of the front brake pads and rotors. (Just as a reminder this is what they "fixed"). I did some research and it turns out that new rotors are supposed to last about 70,000 miles. Less than 20,000 miles into getting them replaced BY THEM I'm told I need new ones! The reason I drive so much in a year is because I am a full time college student and full time EMT and it seems they are taking advantage of me because of my age and knowing I need my vehicle to take care of my responsibilities.I've had my car for 7 years with no problem to the brakes and rotors. I understand they need to be replaced because of normal wear and tear. I brought my car here thinking they would do a good job. A little over a year later i'm told I need to pay $550 to get the SAME WORK DONE AGAIN BY THEM. The employees are kind but the work is less than satisfactory.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

My experience here was great! I brought my Ford Fusion in for a light that popped up on my dash that I wasnt sure what it was. I was told to take it through Duke of Oil just to make sure I didnt need an oil change which would be a quick, easy fix. I appreciated the honesty. Unfortunately it wasnt that and I needed to have it looked at further. They were quick with getting back to me with an answer. And the person on the phone explained everything to me and helped me understand my problem. They were transparent with their answers to my questions. And the service was fast and easy! The price was decent as well and they always communicated that. Thank you for a great experience!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection

Got my front brakes and rotors done. Bring in my own pads and used there rotors. A month or so later brakes are squealing. Bring it back to have them look at it they want to charge me a fee and if work needs to be done ON WORK THEY ALREADY PERFORMED that I will be charged for those services. Guy who I assumed was the manager comes in and begins to speak to me as if I m a child about brake pads and rotors. I wouldn t recommend them let alone allow them to work on my car again.Bad business practices.Service: Brakes

I had a high speed vibration, they found the problem and some other issues i wasn't aware of.If you don't have warranty coverage for your vehicle you're the one that's being unreasonable.Newer vehicles are more expensive to repair. Don't blame the shop.

I had a screw in my tire and they kindly removed it for me. Also, the tire has been fixed. The stuff was professional and honest. My 2012 car still has its originals tires since it was not used a lot. I was told that the tires are still in a relatively good condition which I highly appreciate. I left the place very satisfied with their service and customer service. Thank you.

Long story short, I paid around $3000 and my problem wasn t fixed. I am sorry it was fixed for only 2 months and the same problem came back.If you need the story in length here is what happened. I gave them my 2012 sonata to fix an electrical issue where the battery keeps dyeing. They told me it s the battery, i changed it. Then same issue nothing fixed, they told me it s the dynamo, and I replaced it. Then they told me it s wiring issue!! Be aware that every time they charge $100 for inspection, so that is a $300 for nothing and they still don t know the problem! Finally i paid the last $100 and they told me that my radio was causing all that i have to replace it well i just took it out and shut down the radio circuit. Guess what happened next ? My car died and it still not working after paying all that money! So what s the reason behind making me buy all those stuff? And replacing a good part just were working fine in my car ? Who paid for that ? Are they gonna be responsible? Hell no !

Took my car to this place on a Sunday because my coolant was leaking. They told me that I needed a hose. Went back up there on Monday to get the hose replaced and a few days later they told me that I needed a new engine. I asked why and they explained that I did not have any oil in my engine. I recently had an oil change and know that was not the case. Also I was there on Sunday getting my vehicle inspected why didn't someone address the issue about the oil leakage? Not to mention that they had extremely poor communication while my vehicle was there. None of this seems legit and I will never be bringing my vehicle here again let alone to any of their other locations. My advise would be to check your vehicle before bringing it in. As a repair shop it is your job to let the customer know what is going on with their vehicle before it gets out of control and there is very little that could be done. Would give this place "0" stars if I could.

I took my jeep in for an alignment two days ago and I found out that day that I needed more than alignment I also needed my drag link. That is not a 30 dollar fix. However I decided to have it fixed. My Jeep would be unsafe to drive. But what I didn t expect was to pay more than what the dealer charges for the parts. Dealer cost for my 09 wrangler link or right tie rod is $236. I also needed the sleeve for the left tie rod dealer cost $55. AutoFix cost for the link $339.09 and $77.13 for the sleeve. I do understand that they are running a business and they have to make money. But my repair guy kept saying I will take care if you. Moral of the story is they fooled me once. Get quotes from the dealer where you will get quality parts cheaper and labor cost that will be about the same. However they did do the work fast So that is a positive thing. But I will not be going back.

Word of advice when someone calls you for a quote, give them the quote they asked for. Don't try to automatically upsell them over the phone and then argue with them when they're not agreeing to your upsale. Would be wise for you to at least let the customer get in the door before you try and rob them blind. Glad I dodged this bullet!

What a Rip off. I took a tire in to have a valve stem replaced. The better part of an hour and $28 later they were done. I just called another place about pricing to get the other 3 replaced and it will be five bucks each with them taking the tires off of the car. So you can get all 4 replaced for 20 bucks somewhere else or pay these rip offs 112 bucks, Your choiceBelow the owner replied to ask who would replace a valve stem for 5 Bucks. Well it was Discount Tire on US 30 in Merrillville. I have copied and pasted my review of Discount tire left after my visit there to get the other 3 valve stems replaced. Your reviewMy review for Discount tire on US 30 in MerrillvilleJay GollnerLocal Guide 56 reviews4 weeks agoGreat customer service.Let me list the things I love about this business.1. Contactless check in, You can scan the QR code to check in and just stay in your car until it's your turn for service.2. In my case having tire valve stems replaced the directed me to drive in to the correct bay and let me remain in my car while the work was completed.3. They brought the invoice to my car and offered to take payment there so I could stay in the car.4. Existing customer service, Since I had previously purchased tires there when I needed to have 3 tire valve stems replaced they charged me a grand total of 3 bucks and change to remove 3 tires from the car, Replace the valve stems and remount the tires. I had taken the forth tire to a different place as I was on the other side of town and needed to get it fixed before I could drive the car and they were a total rip off.

Been going to them for years. Up front with you on repairs, how long it will take and work that's done right to keep you on the road. Pricing is also competitive with other auto centers. And sometimes they charge less. Honest repair shop.Service: Auto maintenanceService: Auto maintenance

Extremely pricey (80bucks) even with my coupon and I only came in for an oil change and they couldn t even do that right. Came here two months ago and my car recently started acting up. Took my car to an actual mechanic and I was told they put the wrong filter on my car which caused it to leak oil everywhere. Literally had to pay someone to redo their sloppy work. Never coming here again.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! My brakes started making a slight noise on a Monday, we took my car in that Saturday to have the brake pads replaced. I knew they wouldn t be bad because it JUST started making a noise. They called us an hour later and said the total would be $850+!!! They said it was down to the rotors and the rotors were being damaged. I was blown away! We told them NOT to fix it. We had a mechanic that we know take a look at them, he said the brake pads and rotors were totally fine!! And I probably heard a noise from moisture on the brake pads...he changed the brake pads for us just to extend the life of the brakes but he said they were totally fine! This place is a bunch of scammers! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!

Wow this is how car servicing should be! Great service, great team, great prices and absolutely no hassle, well minus the phone number error. They even rang me to talk through what was needed now, what will be needed next time and gave me prices that no one else could touch.. The manager Mike even went out of his way to find out about a recall for my vehicle. Plus they included a $40 off service. Why can t all repair services be like this! Great Simple Service at a Great Value Thank You, Auto Fix!"

I took my car at 8am and didn't get a call until around 5pm with a status update. I would encourage this establishment to provide customers with status updates of there vehicles even if the car hasn't left the parking lot to be worked on.

My Uncle went here because his check engine light came on, they said it was a bad Fuel Evaporative Canister, and they will have to replace the whole fuel tank because its built into the tank, which is not true at all. After they started working on it they kept saying this was broken, and that was broken in the fuel system. But if ALL of that was broken how was the car starting and running with no issues, just a check engine light? Something that should be a $500 job cost him over $2000. Also after dealing with all of that for a whole week he goes to pick his car up, he starts his car he STILL HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Being very frustrated he chose to take it to a different shop instead of dealing with the very rude person inside. The different shop told him the shop before didn't reset the light.

Came in for oil change and free inspection with tire rotation (with coupon). Waited 2.5 hours to be told that they couldn't perform tire rotation due to "swollen lug nuts" and it would cost $150 to replace them to get the "free" tire rotation. Yet, two days ago, I had my suspension checked and they removed the lug nuts with no problem. Waisted my day all for some BOGUS UPSELLING. AVOID AT ALL COST!
