The old lady who works at Iron Skillet has horrible customer service skills. There were only 2 other people in the restaurant. When I arrived, she seated me and asked me what I wanted to drink. I told her coffee, then she went up to the register and began talking with a gentleman as she checked him out. Once he was checked out, she remained at the cash register. Talking to him for another 10 minutes.I ended up leaving without ordering. That Iron skillet has lost my business

What a horrible place. Truck parking is great but don t bother entering the building. Went in to shower. Older woman at the counter was doing her puzzle and without even looking up just said what do you want . Then she was just rude from that point forward. Why bother coming to work if you re that miserable and even more why hire someone like that. Beyond that place had less than savoury people hanging out making one very uncomfortable to even be in the place. Will be my last stop in Gary Indiana and Petro.

Many truck spots still available around 545pm. That was surprising bc the loves across the street is temporarily closed due to fire.This place has a Taco Bell with a Pizza Hut express attached, and an Iron skillet.They have some boxed meals in the hot/cold box prepped, as well as jimmy dean items.Not much out for breakfast. Taco Bell opens at 7am.They have beer They have a Verizon center (Unsure of hours).They also have an ATM.Bathrooms were big and clean.There is a security guard 24/7.Many spots to walk dog, but some areas are trashy.

I hate this truck stop but everyone packs the loves across the street for all the same reasons. Here, the bathroom ALWAYS SMELLS, half the locks on the stalls don t work. All the employees are the worst. Personally, if loves had more parking I would switch. They have nicer staff, cleaner facilities, healthier food, but after 7 it s almost impossible to get in there. 90% of the parking here is reserved. I m not buying fuel here any more.

I hope that the only reason you stop here is because you have to. Make sure to have something to eat because you are about to get bent over and f- ed HARD. Just paid 20.00 dollars for Taco Bell. That is for 1 combo! Prices are not displayed, which I am pretty sure is Weights and Measure violation. So get your fuel and go. Don't even bother going inside.

This place is pretty amazing whether you re a regular customer or a truck driver they have just about everything you can imagine from a nice restaurant Pizza Hut travel travel store Taco Bell and even a Verizon wireless as well as lots of stuff inside. The bathrooms in the store in general or super clean which is pretty impressive considering the amount of people that probably come through here daily and I noticed that there are respecting the social distancing and mask mandate as well if you re passing through I highly recommend you stop and take a peek.

Worst travel plaza ever.Their showers have zero ventilation, and by the time you are done with your shower, you are so sweaty that you already need another one.The date is August 03, 2023, at about 6:30 pm. Both cashiers (from the fuel area and from the convenience store) are so arrogant, rude, and with no knowledge of customer service, and have no manners to treat people at all.Bathrooms are filthy.When complaining about the ventilation in the showers, the fuel cashier responded in a rude "I don't care" way, saying that's not her problem," I'm just a cashier here."Any other would at least have said they would let management know or anything, but instead, they give back a bad and rude attitude.Horrible travel center.

Front desk (fuel desk) girl wouldn t stay at her station instead she stood infront of other store desk gossiping with other girl and gave attitude when help was needed at her desk

Ive been to 50+ TA and Petro for tire change and small repairs for my carrier and this place top 5. Had wonderful experience changing oil in their shop, mechanic Anthony did a great job!

This place used to be really nice looks like the trash hasn't been picked up in a week Taco Bell is one hour and 15 minutes late not even open yet no cashier for the store both registers are closed for the store at 8:15

When I arrived, there was only one mechanic on duty; another came on duty later in the evening. The mechanic that serviced my truck did an outstanding job. I am very satisfied with his work. I HIGHLY APPRECIATE AND COMMEND the mechanic for being dedicated to his job; he finished working on my truck even after finding out that his house had caught on fire. I cannot thank him enough for finishing the job; if he would have left, I would have understood and not had a problem with it. We need more dedicated mechanics like this one.

It would be a nice place to put a truck stop stopped in on Tuesday 10/24/17 had Chicken n hot dog on the Buffet REALLY . Manager said tomorrow we re having TACOS On the Buffet? Been there 4 times now . Nice showers even though counter n sinks are falling off the walls they re not as SNOBBY as they were in the beginning. Haven t been back to the shop since they opened wrong filters after he filled them . Stopped another time to get Frt tire rotation 1 was 30 oz out was told tire coming apart but their built for that . After I made my Delivery had new tires put on in Chicago. So in all for me just a fuel n shower Stop . Over at Denny s having breakfast now

Truck stop is almost new, but it is dirty. The snacks are expired. The coffee bar is always dirty. Iron skillet is half way closed. My smash burger was terribly dry. The food portions are always smaller, then they are supposed to be. The fuel dispenser is leaking, so my tank got all over diesel . I would recommend to bypass this place.I guess location matters

Santa Fe salad is missing the proper sauce, the beans, and came with Kraft ranch. Some of the lettuce was rotting, some was the yellow near the core.

Boy there really letting this Petro go downhill. Estimated 10-hour wait to get your truck in the shop. No one at the fuel desk when I went in. Iron skillets closed all weekend. Taco Bell and Pizza Hut are now closed on Sunday. They're basically turning this place into a parking lot.

I was there for the first time last night for dinner. This morning for breakfast. Place looks fabulous. Waitresses were so nice. Food was great. Wonderful truck stop. Enjoyed being with my trucker and experiencing your truck stop

Always dirty around. Gas station for truck is absolutely bad. You guys have to do better!

Very poor service. Filled up a diesel for more than $403 and couldn't even wash my windshield,because almost all buckets are empty. The guy behind a registry don't care even when I told him about it. Petro and TA became useless. I think it's time for me to move to another truck stop like Love's or Pilot.

Great truck stop amazing food Spectacular customer service above and beyond expectations.A must go if your just passing through or need to rest on a long trip for a 34 hour rest. Great showers and are very clean.

We had a good experience at this location, the staff of the Iron Skillet were friendly and our meal was delicious. There are 4 washing machines and 5 dryers in working order. The ladies bathroom was clean and the showers are typical truck stop clean, so you probably want to wear your shower shoes. Cashiers were polite and prompt. We would stop here again.

This Petro was very awesome! I Love Gary, IN !!! It gets a bad rep but the people are friendly and this Iron Skillet is one of the best in the Nation!

This store night time shift is terrible. We ve been waiting to be checked out for the longest. Nobody in the front. If there were a theft they wouldn t even know. The lady in the front messed up our reserve parking set the leave date for the day we were staying.

This place has a whole cooler of country fresh meats. I sure do like country fresh Meats and their cheese! But this place doesn't have any prices for any of the meats and cheeses in this cooler. I will never buy anything I can't see a price for. And I encourage everyone to refuse to buy anything without a price. Either they are too lazy to price these items? Or they are so outrageously priced, they won't put the prices out? PS if they had prices I would have bought some!

Beware extreme prices for truck or trailer service. One of my trailer's hub was almost lost during a load and this Petro was one of the nearest options for service. When asking for an estimate the staff told me that they would not know but they would need to take everything apart and if the 'axle surgeon' needed to be involved, they would have to stop and wait for him to arrive in 1 or 2 days. They then quickly continued to let me know that it would require a surgeon (their wording, not mine). I imagined this specialist would be pricey since the person kept on saying 'surgeon' when referring to him every time. They also did not give me any idea whatsoever of the cost. After 2 days of wait and an entire of under 4 hours worth of work from the axle surgeon, the charge for him alone was $ 1,893.75...... the parts and labor as well as the inclusion of an oil change came to about $2k. paying $4k for this seemed unjust but they would not allow my truck and trailer to leave the premises. I am not a rich person and my wife was devastated to put it lightly. It is taking money out of my family. This TA was unreasonable to the charges made. Always telling me that they had to pay the 'axle surgeon' that exact amount, which I don't believe. Other owner / operators get charged under $3k for the same work. Beware of this place.
