Very nice and knowledgeable staff. I needed new rear brakes. They informed me my rear calipers were in need of replacing as well. The price they gave me for the repair was reasonable. They had my vehicle ready for me in no time. I highly recommend this shop!

This place I thought was a good place. But I went there because I needed some air in my tire. And then closed the garage in my face and then laughed about it. I guess they seen 3 black women in the car and just decided they didn t want to help. Then too top it off, they didn t close until 5:30 and I was there at 5:00. I went in and spoke to the lady at the front desk and told her what happened and she said that was weird. I said yes it really is and I believe it s racism all the way!!!! She then went to ask the manager if he could just put air in my tire and he said no I would not recommend this place at all! I have been in customer service for years and I would NEVER EVER DO ANYONE THAT WAY!!! This has to change!!!

Very courteous knowledgeable and attentive to customer needs. Good customer service and no price gouging. Pricing was explained in advance no surprises. Quick service no long waiting period. Would recommend this place for others in need of this type service

I've been meaning to write this review for more than 2 years now and was recently reminded to do so when I came across the old receipt. My daughter, a college student, was on her way back home from school and unexpectedly ran into car trouble on the highway. It was a scary situation for her as it seemed like something major. She got off the highway and happened across American Brake & Muffler. In a situation like this - younger person, far from home, in an emergency, with no appointment... those scenarios are opportunities to easily be taken advantage of. The staff at the shop took her in and fixed the car in a reasonable timeframe especially for a Friday afternoon. They did a great job and performed the work for a fair price. Thank you so much guys!

This shop has always done an amazing job. A hose blew on my car and they got it in very quickly and got it fixed. Thankful to have a great shop close by.

Trash shop! They lied told me pick up my vehicle my ac was working I go pay get in car it s still blowing hot! I was charged 600 and didn t get any refund I took them to court owner came in and lied said they told me they could repair but would be extra cost! All lies!!! They told me I had to take to dealship after they lied said it was ready so I could pay them! Disloyal and owner is a COWARD

My mother in law recommended this shop. I've had several things done here, brakes and exhaust and oil change and the work was superb. My wife and daughter get work done here now. Thumbs up

Warning Be careful with this place they don't keep receipts and make sure they show you the parts they took off your car I have been a victim

I highly recommend American brake and mufflerI was treated like a long time friend they are very respectable and friendlyI was recommended by a friend of mine that spoke vary highly of your knowledgeable technicians and reasonable pricing. I was shown what was wrong with my vehicle because I didn t know what they were trying to tell me. I will be coming back for all my repairs

Sitting here driving my Corvette Remembering how these people ripped me off! I paid $400 for a bolt up THAT'S IT! Literally had the entire exhaust ready to go and complete! All they had to do was remove 4 easy to get to bolts and bolt it up! They took advantage of me And lied to me just to get my money! I would never visit them again and DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I m new to Gary and by luck came across this business which was the best thing that could ve happened!As soon as I entered the business I was greeted and treated extremely well by the owner and his awesome team of employees!I needed a entire engine removed from my car and new one put in which you would think would take days if not weeks with most shops well needless to say they had everything taking care of and kept me in the loop the entire time which happened to be only 2 days !! I couldn t believe it !!! I would absolutely recommend too my family, friends and even complete strangers too American Brake & muffler complete car care center . I can definitely guarantee that you ll be happy with your decision of doing business with them .Sincerely....An extremely Happy Customer !!

Have had repairs made and service on 2 vehicles at the new Crown Point store on Main street and cant say enough good things about my experience. These guys are very professional and thorough. In both cases they diagnosed problems and offered up front, reasonable quotes on repairs and completed the work the same day at the prices quoted. I would recommend this shop to my own mother. Give these guys a chance to earn your trust and business, they've got mine!!!!FIVE STARS from a very satisfied customer!!!

I can't believe this place is still in business. I had been warned about them but decided to give it a chance. It appears that the work they did to my vehicle should have been a simple fix instead of a 1800$ bill. They installed parts on a whim and cleared the codes, I picked up my car and drove it for 2 days only to have the light come back on for the exact same code. Took it to another shop and 200$ later I have no issues and was informed that they basically got the best of me. Lesson learned. Just here to warn you too steer clear of shady shops.well let's see, I have 75 reviews one of them being about your business. So I don't really understand how you came up with the number 60. If u can't do math you probably shouldn't be doing business. And by the way you and that particular Wendy's are equally good at producing satisfied customers. Maby you should flip burgers instead.

I had them fix my alternator. Then came back to repair my sensor. They did fairly good work. Then I noticed these guys slightly sabotaged parts of my vehicle so I can come back and get it fixed. Stuff that was fine was now making noise. Spent over 2 grand with them. The manager let it unintentionally slip out of his mouth, that this is what they do for a living. That s how they stay in business. Definitely will not be getting any more of my business.

First off I have to say Ben and Dave and the rest of the guys here are awesome. I have been coming to this location to have work done on both my vehicles. They do Great Work. Arnie hope I spelled it right you need to give these guys a raise. Also I have to ask is there any way you can have a frequent customer program. I really wanted to see if could get a sarcastic response out of the boss but you only get those with bad reviews. I have no complaints. So rip me a new one Arnie I dare you.

Cheaters, lairs and crooks. I took my car to them. They said they charged $50 for diagnose. I paid them for diagnose and asked them to go ahead fixing the car. They called me saying it is done next day. I went to pick it up. The engine light was still on upon test driving mean nothing was fixed. next day, they called me again, but light did not go away. I left car for over the weekend so that they can take their time to fix it. On Monday, they clear the light when I drove for a while the light came back. I took it to back. They said it will cost more $250 on top of $1800 which they already charged me after first visit. During this one week they changed things that they were not related to main problem. The problem still exist, now they are saying it will cost additional $1200 for part and labor. They changed several things, they did not give me itemized charge list. Problem still exist after spending $2050. When I asked them about the service and charges and the problem still exist, they all gang up in the office and yell at me. Very very bad attitude, and service. Even performing diagnose and telling what is wrong, the problem still exist. What they are asking additional $1200 now should be catch and fixed at first time.Do not go to them, if you have to please get written statement what is wrong to your car and how total it will cost. Get receipts for all the part they replace and old part from your car. Get everything in writing.

There once was an uninsured driver who chose to screw me over by damn near destroying a vehicle that I still make payments on....I walked in to this shop with a story and very little in the bank. They worked with me on so many levels... They started working on my vehicle immediately! They offered an affordable payment plan! They did an amazing job fixing everything last thing!I couldn't ask for better...Mind you, I had to pay for everything before I got my car back. But, it was 100% worth it!!!!Thank you Jesus!!!!

I've been coming to this shop for the pass 4 years their the only shop to work on my trailblazer. I've always felt welcomed and the staff has always been polite with me. Any part they replaced I've never had a recurring problem with. Ben is definitely the best give him a raise. Thanks you guys Ms. McPherson

I don t know where to begin. Ben has gone above and beyond from a customer service hands down. He backed me up and called my warranty company and got them to replace my engine, this saved my entire life! He kept me updated on the work with videos and pictures and has informed me about every step of my repair on my German car. I can t express my appreciation enough. This is the first time I ve ever had to have a repair done on any of my vehicles but in the future I will ALWAYS take my cars to American Brake and Muffler as long as Ben is employed there.Service: Auto engine diagnostic
