I've had to use them a handful of times and have a series of minor and fairly major complaints including:-Floor mats always have black streaks after they've worked on a vehicle because they're not using paper mats (3 occurrences it would be more if I didn't have rubber mats in one vehicle).-Did not rotate tires after putting in written requests and verbally telling them to do so (2 occurrences).-Spare tires were put in trunk and not in spare tire compartment (2 occurrences)-Dead battery (twice)-Complained about me providing my own part (once), but didn't complain other times.-A vehicle had a parasitic draw and lights that wouldn't turn off. That was very clearly explained to them, and their response was to replace the alternator. There is absolutely no way an alternator could create the symptoms I described. The car actually needed the ECM and several switches replaced. I diagnosed the problem and fixed it myself after they failed to correct the problem twice. The second time they just jumped the battery and pretended that solved the problem.I would characterize their work as being generally rushed, sloppy, and inattentive. Overall mediocre.You will get the absolute bare minimum they think they can get away with. That has been my consistent experience over the past few years.

I was in town for a one night stay and had unexpected car problems. We called and they were able to get us in and help us quickly. I can t recommend this shop enough!

I was on vacation in the area when I had an issue with the brake system on my truck which would have left me stranded with no way to get home. Dr. Auto was able to get my truck in, diagnose and fix the issue with my brake lines all in the same day and get me back on the road. Extremely grateful. Very friendly, excellent service, fair prices. Highly recommend if you need service in this area.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

I'm a big fan of Joe at the front desk. He's super committed to customer service. He explains things carefully, takes plenty of time, and goes out of his way to explain costs and options. They pick up the phone immediately. They get you in right away. They believe in their staff and tell you so. Then they make good on it.This might be the friendliest and most helpful mechanic's shop I've ever been to in my life. I am more than pleased with the service. I was treated fairly. I immediately took my second vehicle to have work done.The shop is clean and managed professionally. Go Joe, and thanks for your military service!

Was heading home to central Indiana on a Sunday night from Kentucky with my family. Our car started making a nasty noise and we decided to get a room and see if we could get it looked at the next day. The next day I found Dr Auto and drove my car in to see if they had time to look at it. I could tell that they were busy but they still took my car for a drive and then took it into the shop and checked it out.After they figured out what the noise was I decided to make the trip home and deal with it there. We made it home without incident and our short family vacation weekend ended great thanks to their help!I have been a mechanic for 27 years and I know how crazy busy Monday morning can be. I can't say how awesome it was that they squeezed me in and checked out my car when they did. They gave me piece of mind for the trip home and saved me a ton of money that I could have spent on a tow bill.Friendly and understanding staff.Clean facility and easy to find.Check em out!Thanks again!!!

Basically charged 55 to run codes when we already ran the codes for free. Wanted an inspection on the engine to see the specific problem but they wanted to play a guessing game of maybe this will fix it to charge more money. Find a local reasonable mechanic instead!

Needed to update my review. I had an issue the last time I had my truck worked on there. Greg I belive was his name reached out to me about the issue. We discussed the problem and he explained what happened and stands behind his employees work. It's nice to have a local buisness that is honest and if there is an issue they will take care of it. Great group of guys working there! I will be back for any issues I have with my vehicles! Thanks again Greg for reaching out to me.

Gave 5 stars for now. So far they diagnosed the problem with my car and quoted me a price to fix. Haven't gotten fixed or billed yet. I'll update when it gets done. I'm trying this place again after 6yrs ago I swore I'd never go back. Heard they have better mechanics and the owner is on the floor more often. Fingers crossed!

We were in town from Louisville for the Polar Express when our tire decided it was a good time to go flat. We were panicking because it was so late in the day and we had no useable spare to put on the vehicle and drive to a tire store. By the sheer kindness of multiple locals, we were able to get to Mr. Auto (and the Polar Express!). They were willing to stay open just a few minutes late to ensure we had some way home. If it weren't for their kindness to go above and beyond for a customer, we would not have made it back to Louisville last night. We are ultra grateful for their assistance!

Great shop. I found myself stranded in French Lick with a bad starter. They got my car in first thing the next day and took care of the problem quickly. The staff was friendly and the shop is super-clean. The cost of the repair was also reasonable. I wish I had a shop like this near where I live! Highly recommended.

I 'limped' my VW Jetta into French Lick at 1:00am for a 2-Day conference. In route had looked up and made a service appointment online (which is a GREAT feature on the website) without a clue where I was or who this repair shop was. Called at 8:00am to ask about earlier appointment - and they said 'bring it over' (and did offer a shuttle ride). My problem was easier than feared, and they had me repaired and ready to roll by later that afternoon. To my amazement the bill was barely a 'bill'. Total was lower than any single hourly rate I've seen. They fixed what was needed, and didn't try to up sell anything. I'm a 'car guy', and work with a lot of mechanics and shops. THESE FOLKS ARE #1. Wish I lived close enough to be a regular customer.

Please do your research before using this place.I posted this a week ago and wanted to update you all that read these.After having the vehicle into Dr. auto twice, I had to take it to a Ford dealership for repairs. The invoice states that the spark plugs were NOT properly capped. Dr Autos mechanic gapped it at .020 instead of the manufactures recommended setting at .052To make a long story short the owner of Dr. Auto would NOT refund me $500 out of a $651 that I paid him for my time trouble and inconvenience and I still had to pay another dealership $200 to correct the work.

We take all our vehicles here. They put a lift kit on my Jeep. Have done all maintenance on our vehicles for years. Great Owner and do all they can to help you anyway they can. Highly Recommend this Shop.

Last week we came in with a nail in our tire. 5 minutes later they had us fixed up and back on our way. Super clean place and great service.

I dealt with Dr. Auto for several months while working near them. They have worked on my vehicles in the past. Work done by appointment and is usually spot on for pickup unless something unseen arises.

Sent a car there to get AC fixed, got it back not fixed and their were very rude about it! I would not suggest this place. They don t do their job and are rude !
