I've brought almost every one of my Volkswagen vehicles to these guys for my trivial car repairs. They have never let me down. The local dealership in town charges twice as much for parts than other dealerships in other towns. Therefore we choose to not use them. This shop knows their stuff and literally go out of their way to help out. You have to understand people.... They're Volkswagens... they break. It's what they do. I would and do recommend these guys to anyone I know with VW issues.

SCAM!!!! They qoute me $110 to look at my car and tried to charge me almost $300 for a diagnostic fee. Then they tell me they cant figurte out the problem unless I commit to paying them at least $2,000! Dont even think about going here here

We have been taking our European cars to Werner's for the past decade. The appointment was scheduled to have our 2014 GLK 350 with less than 40k miles routinely serviced. We were asked to drop it off on Wednesday before 5, to be serviced on Thursday morning, which we did. It was getting late on Thursday, so we called and were told that the vehicle would not be ready until Friday morning. Again, we called a little before noon on Friday since no one called us and were told they were working on the vehicle and it would be ready by 2p. Tom (rude) called and said the vehicle was ready around 1p. I'm just wondering if they performed any work other than turning off the service light for over $400.After picking the vehicle up it was very dirty. The driver's mat was covered in dirt, the driver's inside door panel was dirty, and there were greasy fingerprints on the hood. The vehicle was driven on a wet gravel road which left caked-on sand under the wheel wells and along the bottom of the vehicle. Customer service is terrible! I'm assuming the owner is unable to monitor his business or has passed away. There are a lot of cars sitting around that need servicing, so that should be a red flag. I'm just saying, take your car there at your own risk. Better yet, read the reviews before you drop your car off at this place. Thanks Werner for the great service from past years.

Great experience at Warners. I had a big job to do and they got it done in about a week. In addition to my original problem they found several other issues that needed addressed and they made sure to call me and walk me through what it was that needed addressed, and whether or not I wanted it done. They updated my quote and were completely transparent. The job was right in line with what they told me and I feel safe knowing that the job was done well based off their honesty. Will definitely be back with all my VW needs.

My engine went bad on my 2018 AMG C43 (frustrated with that in itself). Mercedes quoted me $41,000 to fix it and I passed. I was able to find a motor at a decent price but before buying it I spoke to Tom and he said for sure they can handle the job. They said they had a big workload and I said I wasn t in a hurry. I purchased the motor and had it shipped to Werner s and then paid to have my car towed there. Over two months goes by and I call to check in on it and they ask me to call back when the technician is in. Monday comes and I speak to the tech. Turns out he is not comfortable changing the motor because the new one is missing components that need to be transferred or ordered (willing to pay for that expense). I waited for over two months for them to change their mind and not feel comfortable. I m glad they tell me now instead of having an unqualified mechanic work on it. I guess the most frustrating thing is I bought this engine had it sent there waited 2 patiently waited for months for them to start. Then they change their mind, I m outside my return window and a portion of my warranty is gone and they won t even cover the towing to have my car and motor sent to another shop. Poor communication and not even accurate communication at that on management

Destroyed my 1970 911 porsche engine. Now leaks an entire crankcase of oil over the winter. Set timing 50 degrees off. Back fired all the way home.. Shipped to my previous mechanic in Michigan. Said do not take your lawnmower here. Do not take an old Porsche to this place. They have no clue what they are doing and want to argue about it. Do not go here! AGAIN do not go here!Service: Engine repair

When I worked in the Fort Wayne area I would get my VW Passat(320k) serviced at Werner's Garage. From major work to minor work they even have a body shop. Honest and knowledgeable...I only wish I would have found them earlier ....and not Vord.....Volkswagen in Fort Wayne. I believe they specialize in any kind of European car not just Volkswagen

Terrible experience. Read the bad reviews, but figured it was worth the risk because the price they quoted was so reasonable. Dropped off my BMW m235i for a spark plug change. Dealership wanted to charge an outlandish price. I called Werner's and another shop and was told it would be about $350 for the spark plug change at either place. Went with this shop because they specialized in European cars. I needed a loaner and they gave me a Beetle with 160k miles and the paint peeling off. It was dirty and sounded like it was going to explode every time I hit the gas pedal. Also, the check engine and ABS warning lights were on. Not sure why a car shop would give out a loaner with warning lights on, but it was absolutely sub-par. When I returned, they ran the bill and it was $660. I told them I was quoted $350 and they acted like I was making it up. Absolutely made no effort to make it right. Will not be returning to this shop. Overall, super unprofessional and obviously under quoting to get people in the door. I could have went to the dealership and paid that much and gotten a decent car to drive while they were doing the work. BUYER BEWARE!

AVOID!!! BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM OPERATION!!!Read the below reviews first! They give everyone a great quote to get their car in, and then raise the price and demand you pay! This is by far one of the very worst businesses I have come across. After I was extremely specific with my year, make, model, and which parts I wanted replaced, I was told my service would cost $225. I confirmed this price on the phone twice before bringing my car in.Only AFTER I drove my car a long way and dropped it off to Werner's Garage which I THOUGHT was a reputable business, I received a phone call saying that the price would be going up $100 for no reason. The representative Chris was extremely rude and "did not care what I was told we are not doing it for that so come get your car."The next day I decided to talk to Werner himself. Chris answered the phone. I asked to talk to Werner. Chris said "Werner does not want to talk to you, come get your car.". I said I wanted to talk to a manager and Chris hung up on me! I called back again and luckily got another representative who transferred me to Warner. Warner did not know Chris was acting like this! I thought at first Warner would be a honest and reputable man and take care of his customer. Long story short, he HUNG UP ON ME! I wanted to give Werner the opportunity to honor his word of what I had confirmed on the phone multiple times. He said it does not matter what I was told twice. Since it was incorrect he was not going to honor the word of what his employees told me.Think twice before you go to this business. There are reputable businesses out there, and then there is Werner's who just wants you to get your car in so they can raise the price on you and treat you like dirt.

I took my Saab in for the AC not working and also asked that the engine be checked over for anything that may need attention. I was called a day later and told the AC just needed a recharge and was working and everything else looked good. Cost was just over $300. I picked my car up on a cool day, checked the air, which did not seam cold but thought on the short drive I may just need to take it out longer to get going. The next week it was in the 80s and obviously no AC. Took it back in and was now told I needed a new compressor which would cost $1,000 to $1,200, part of which included an additional recharge. Said no thanks, as nothing was obviously checked the first time, and was told I owed just over $100 for the inspection. This fee was dropped as I mentioned the above issue. Took my car to another shop where it was properly diagnosed, had the compressor replaced with associated parts and materials for approximately $700. I will not be back to Werner's after the improper diagnosis, the mechanic apparently never checked even checked to see if the air even worked when done, and doubt the engine was gone through at all.

Had our 2011 Mercedes GL 450 services there this week for the first time. Scheduling the appointment was very simple, all of my interactions with the staff were professional and helpful, and they got us back up and running the same day. Their prices are about 1/3 of the dealership and they even washed the vehicle before we picked it up. Would definitely recommend their services.

I had $785 worth of repairs done to my car! While they ordered the parts the tore it apart and when the parts they installed them! I was in and out within 24 hours!! The mechanic came and told me about the repairs and that he made sure components to the parts were also working! He informed me about future repairs I would need to make and approximate cost and labor! Joel was the man that worked on my car and thank you to this shop my car runs almost brand new! Thank you Joel for being a reliable honest mechanic! I will only request you to work on my Land Rover!

Werners has never steered us wrong. We've been using them for the past 4 years. We always bring my 04' Mini Cooper S there. We've had nothing but problems (no fault of theirs) with my car since we bought it used. They've always have been fair priced consider all our other quotes we've gotten from other places. Will always use them. We bought an 03' Beetle from a used car lot an it broke down the way home from that lot. Werners is now fixing that car! Thank you so much for all your help! We understand things happen people get bad reviews but their are plenty of us that appreciate the good word you all do.Service: Transmission

Going to Werner's has always been pleasant. Not only have they taken care of every problem with my 17 year old VW bug, they have done so in a timely manner. They are professional, kind and knowledgeable! Love the staff!I can't say enough good about Warner's. I highly recommend this garage for every foreign car need. I will use them as long as I have my bug, which I hope will be many many years to come.

The service is great and the are incredibly honest. They could have made $5000 from me by putting in DPF system in my car as I was needing it. They found out it was on recall and I d get it free from Mercedes if I waited. I will always come back here with my Mercedes for all my repairs.Services: Exhaust, General repairs & maintenanceServices: Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance

This was a Saturday morning emergency. We called up Werner even though he was closed today. He came recommended by the local Volkswagen dealership. He turned out to be the only guy available to help us in all of Indiana. He graciously went out of his way on the weekend to help us. He trouble shot our engine issue and had us back on the road in 20 minutes. Out of any mechanic experience I've ever had I can not recommend Werner enough! Excellent service!!

Lifesavers! I highly recommend Werner's Garage! I was traveling through Fort Wayne Indiana and my 2004 Range Rover broke down on US 30 in Ohio during sub-zero temperatures. I googled local Landrover repair shops and discovered Werner's and called them. They sent a flatbed to my location and towed my RR back to the shop. At first glance it is an impressive operation. A gated tree lined entrance with call box. I needed to be back on the east coast quickly and i was worried i would miss out on my new year's plans. However, the staff at Werner's diagnosed, ordered parts, and completed installation/service in short order and i was on the road the next day. And thankfully i drove the last 700 miles to my destination without any further issues. They were extremely well priced for the service that they completed successfully. I wanted to make sure to thank the staff at Werner's Garage! Happy New Year 2018!

Mr. Werner is wonderful and so are his mechanics, but not his front office staff! We have a 2011 Mercedes which we bought brand new from Mercedes of Fort Wayne. It has been serviced by the dealer since new until this repair from Mr. Werner. He and his mechanics are top notch and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Do not be distracted by the decaying BMW's and Mercedes outside his shop. Although they are a sign that most of his clients run their cars on a budget, he also knows how to take care of high value models as-well.With that being said, our repair quote by the front office staff was incorrect and only listed half the correct amount of labor. This resulted in a total price difference of $270 when I went in to pay. Thankfully, I kept the original quote and produced it as evidence to try to hammer out a solution. Unfortunately, the front office staff instantly started to berate me and claimed they get to decide who gets to come back or not (in essence saying I might not be welcomed back due to wanting a fair resolution for the price differential). Of course, knowing Mr. Werner is a wonderful man, I asked to speak with him and he understood the mistake was their own fault and offered to give me a price reduction of $100. I agreed and still happilly paid $170 more than my original quote. I say this because truly this garage does a wonderful job and I highly recommend them.In total, I fully recommend this garage but just be carefull about quotes. Also, customer service from the front office staff might not be as great as expected. Service based industries like this live or die by their reputation and reputation is based equally on ability to perform the work as-well as a high level of customer service. If only front-office customer service could be improved at this garage, it would be the BEST KEPT SECRET in Fort Wayne.I wish Mr. Werner the best, and I look forward to returning to his shop for all my future repairs!

This was my first visit to this repair shop.I have a 21 year old VW that has only been serviced by a vw mechanic. My car was not running and towed to the garage late afternoon. I received a call promptly the following morning and was informed of repairs needed and given a quote for parts and labor. I was also informed of a potential problem with my ignition cap and rotor and given an estimate. The mechanics finished the initial repairs in a timely manner (that afternoon) and I picked up my vw by late afternoon (less than 24 hrs after it was dropped off)! Everyone was smiling and happy so you just assumed they enjoy what they do. I was thrilled to hear the final cost of the repairs was $50 lower than the original quote and Tom even cleaned up the ignition cap and rotor parts to buy me some time to replace it. My car has always had trouble starting in rain but this morning she fired right up, rain be damned! Color me impressed and thankful for Werner's keeping my ol jalopy alive a little longer! Much thanks to everyone who helped! Merry Christmas and Best wishes into the new year!

Very poor experience here regarding customer service. Please don t pick up the phone by accident, shut the phone, then pretend no one is there near closing time. Please give clients updates if your mechanic was sick and couldn t work that day. I had to call repeatedly to find out I have no vehicle left to go to work tomorrow. Please don t disregard the huge cloud of smoke, black residue on the trunk, and Emissions Workshop! dashboard warning on my first visit then correct the supposed non-issue on my second visit (cracked turbo hose). Please don t look surprised when I ask to receive my car in the same condition it was when I brought it in (uprooted floor board). I also wasn t too happy when you guys couldn t find the problem to my vehicle the first time and after 5 minutes of YouTube I have to point out the notorious problem for my car to fix (weren t you guys experts on European vehicles?) I have full confidence that Werner is a master mechanic, however his staff leave much to be desired.

I took my vw in for oil leaking into the turbo/intake. The did fix the problem but... for what was repaired I feel I was over charged for labor. They also broke the lock clips on the coil packs and zip tied them back together. Now my car is misfiring because the coil packs are loose. I'll probably have to replace the wiring harness now.

My dad had done so much business with werners garage so when I recently bought my last Mercedes and I could not figure out what was wrong I put my trust in them. Took our Mercedes to them on Memorial Weekend and by Labor day weekend still no results from them for what was wrong with my car. They say they tried to call but lost our number.....hmmmm. Anyway after months of not being able to figure out the problem and lots of parts replaced and still not able to fix the problem. They finally call me and say they figured out the problem and would be around another 1,000.00. Plus all the labor for all the time it was at there shop!!!!! Wow I told them to put all the old parts back on and I would be by to pick it up. So needless to say I am out a whole lot of money......a Mercedes that is even worse than when I brought it to them and now want to sell it because I just don't want to put anymore money or time into it but as you can guess no one wants a broken Mercedes that I put my trust in a company to fix so I could drive for a very long time now it sits in the driveway. I will never bring anything back to them or ever refer anyone to them. If I could not figure out what was wrong with a vehicle I would atleast not charge them until I find out the real problem!!!!! VERY DISCOURAGED CUSTOMER!!!!!

This place needs to be out of business. I took my car in because it had some leaks. Spent 1200 on it and bought it home right down the street and parked it in my driveway. I went outside and seen the same leaks. Took it back and the mechanic (if you can even call him that) is some kid that doesnt look too smart. Said oh this is cracked that wasn't there before. Another 1100 and we can fix it. I dont know how this horrible place gets good reviews. They must pick and choose who they want to scam and screw over.

Had my water pump in my Mini Cooper Clubman repaired by Werner's. Good job, no problems, everything working fine. Price was high compared to American cars, but the Mini is a tightly packed engine, and it takes more labor. Good job and a lot cheaper than driving to a dealer in Indy or Ann Arbor!! I would recommend them to people with Minis or other European cars.

Get your estimate in writing. Just got my Audi A6 fixed there, it was the 2nd time in a few years. Both times the final price was significantly higher than the estimate they gave me over the phone. Had to have the tensioners replaced the first time, was quoted $3400 and when I got there is was over $4300. This time the tensioner needed replaced again but I knew there was some damage inside the engine. I got a call saying the quote was $5500 for "worst case scenario". I received a call about a week in saying they had to replace some valves, I asked at that time if that fell under "worst case scenario" and was told yes. Got the call 2 days ago saying the car was done and the total was $7100. After bringing up the fact I was given the quote for $5500 for worst case how could it have gone up that much. They finally told me they could get it to $6100. When I get into the shop to pay my bill was back up to $6400. The work was good but I will never take a vehicle back to them.

Recently took our 328i in for a slow oil leak. The leak was repaired, however, when we picked up the car it had a loud squeal. The mechanic sprayed some degreaser on the serpentine belt and it stopped making the noise. Less than half way home it came back. After two additional visits back to their garage they wanted to replace an idler arm, new serpentine belt and said it we had a bad alternator. Over $1,500. We took it to another garage for a second opinion. They repaired the problem for less than $150.Question their level of character and/or technical expertise.

Called 11-16-17 for an estimate for our Volvo. I was told by the gal who answered that the service advisor was out sick, but the parts dept should be able to help me out. She stated that should be able to get back to that day. On 11-17, she called me early a.m. to inquire about my part, I then text to a # given to me pictures of the Volvo parts diagram & the actual part that needed replaced. I heard NOTHING BACK 11-17-17. On 11-20 @ 1230p, I text to the # given to me "Does your company have an estimate yet?" Btw, it's 11-29-17 and I have NEVER received a call or text reply. Obviously, they won't be getting my business.

Amazing place for a car enthusiast! I took my 79 bmw to them not running, and within 48hrs they had a diagnosis and got parts ordered. Some of the most beautiful cars parked outside, and the garage looked clean and organized. Everyone was busy working on something. I highly recommend this place for classic bmw repairs

Writing this while I m waiting for a tow truck. They left a belt off my car and it died a mile away from their shop. When I called them they literally told me sorry about your luck and hung up on me. Not only are the employees unprofessional but the placed looks like junk yard with random taken apart cars everywhere. I should have just turned around and left the moment I saw what a dump the place was. Charging me almost $300 to just look at my car and then brake it. Save your money and time and go someplace else.
