The folks at Summit Transmission have been AMAZING to work with. They have always gone above and beyond to provide excellent service for me, my family, and my business. Their experienced professionals are so friendly, helpful, and accommodating...I know I can always count on them to give us a high quality finished product at a fair price. HIGHLY recommend!!

Truly phenomenal group of people to work with! Came in with an issue that the dealership said they had resolved. Was so worried I wouldn t have my vehicle back in time for an up coming trip. Vehicle was back well before the anticipated time and have had zero issues. Highly recommend over and over!

I called about a possible transmission issue with my vehicle. I know nothing about cars. When I called and explained what happened to the gear shifter in my car not going into park or reverse, the gentleman on phone (Brian) said he believed it was a recall on a bushing in the gear shifter. He recommended that before I brought my vehicle to him, to check with the local dealership to see if my car was a part of this recall. Sure enough, it was! I cannot thank Brian enough for taking the time to listen to my issue, to be honest with me about a recall that I was unaware of, and to explain the process to me. He could have had this single mom on a tight budget tow my car to his shop and make me jump through hoops and pay a fortune for a new transmission right before Christmas. Instead, this man had the ultimate kindness, patience, and knowledge to get me help for my issue. For his integrity- I cannot thank him enough. I will be referring everyone I know to Summit Transmission and I will definitely call him first should I need help in the future. Brian - you saved me today! Other places did not provide me with this information and quoted me astronomical prices and up to 3-4 weeks before I could even get my car back! Instead, the dealership was able to resolve the issue under recall within the day because YOU sir are a good person. Merry Christmas to you!

Brought my daughters GMC envoy in a few years ago because a Chevrolet dealer said it needed a new transmission. The dealership cost was extremely high, and the mechanic recommended I use Summit Transmission. After one of Summit's technicians looked at the vehicle, they said it wasn't the transmission it was a sensor that was causing the issue. The transmission was perfectly fine once the sensor was replaced for about 100 dollars. Instead of charging me a ridiculous amount of money and replacing the transmission, they did the honest thing. I'm not sure why someone is saying this place isn't honest. They could have easily made a couple thousand off of me, and I would have never known the difference. I can promise that if there is ever an issue, I won't hesitate to use Summit Transmission.

LIES & STALKINGI HAVENT LIVED IN COLDWATER FOR ALMOST A DECADE. ALL LIES.Before you believe their response. I have ALL the paperwork, pictures and videos to back what ive stated. As well as a non related third party witness who saw the transmission ground spark n helped disconnect the power. They are trying to cover it "oil issue".10/10 I do not recommend. If they cant tighten bolts in 3 attempts, i have zero confidence that this was actually rebuilt competently and accurately. First as a female i didnt feel taken seriously when i said i had just put thousands of dollars into the transmission for the shift timing to still be off, which it currently still is on the rebuilt. I had all new solenoids n didnt want that money thrown away but was told everything is rebuild the same from square one so my parts held no value. And if it had previously thrown a code for pressure, it was failing n had to be done, tho it drove fine. Per my diagnostic. Okay to not feeling heard. I spent thousands more on a rebuilt, did warranty checkup, but still had problems. 3 wks in my car failed, threw several dash nights & entered safe mode and becoming unable to start. When checking battery, i moved wires n watched under the engine spark. The bolt attaching the transmission and holding the ground was never tightened. Per warranty i was responsible for an expensive tow and figuring out how to manage life/hs age kids in sports with no vehicle. It wasnt prioritized and was days before it was ready, an hour away. I got there n the work order said it was saw for corrioded wires. Which is a huge lack of intregrity. I questioned it and stated this was saw for short from a loose ground on the transmission, and he stated well yes. I asked how i was supposed to know that several weeks of inconsistent current didnt damage the computers. He told me thats impossible, tho a mechanic states otherwise. I took it home with no reassurance. In my mind its still not shifting right n sometimes knocks, but "its fine." This week it went to the shop for an occasional scary clunk i couldnt explain. Bearing, tie rods, control arms, cv axle, all joints. I had it throughly checked and begged them to keep driving it n turning. It only happened when turning. Sure enough 8 turns later, it does it. Several more hours and it was found that it wasnt Just my ground bolt that was never tightened, but almost all bolts! My mechanic was astounded that for months Ive been driving with less than half the bolts tightened. I can also provide pictures of that. Clearly. I dont care about the warranty anymore. I wanna know why on 3 attempts, i have an unbolted transmission, I dont feel it shifts right and thousands of extra car debt i keep working 70 hours a week to keep up. If you cant bolt a transmission, how can you build one? If you cant have honesty on paper, how do you have it to my face? If you fail to do business right the first THREE times should anyone think this business is the right choice?They have offered to work on the car again but I dont trust it. Theres seems to be no other offer to make right. So this will now cost me a lawyer.I can show anyone video n photos of all work that was never bolted.

I had been told by a ford dealership that my transmission needed replaced. After summit ran diagnostics they told me there was nothing wrong with my transmission but there had been engine misfires. Thanks summit for honesty and integrity If I ever need transmission work I will definitely call on summit

Summit Transmission has the absolute beat customer service. They warranty their work and honor it! They not only honored the warranty but did the work in a day!! This an amazing business and cannot say enough good things about them!

I'd highly recommend you find another transmission shop if you want the problem fixed. Dropped my truck off here because it was slipping between 1st and 2nd gear. They had my truck for days then called to tell me nothing was wrong... it's now sitting at the dealership getting fixed under the warranty.

1,000% only recommended summit for your transmission needs. I ve been a professional automotive technician for 10+ years now and have my own repair shop and let me tell you from experience, these guys know exactly what they are doing with the most state of the art equipment known to man to repair/rebuild your transmission. They test the valve body before it s installed back into your transmission which takes all the guessing out of what s wrong with your vehicles transmission. They also can completely rebuild your torque converter!I wouldn t trust any transmission shop In town let alone in any other state other than summit transmission. Great team, very friendly, family owned, and a very clean organization facility!They were able to help me out with a situation on a Volkswagen transmission I thought I was going to have to replace. Very happy with the communication and outcome of the repair they did. Thank you guys for your hard work!

I stopped by yesterday after another shop recommended Summit Transmission as the better transmission shop in Fort Wayne (while also admitting that they were all shady). Turns out all the hype is false and not true. I wouldn t recommend Summit Transmission to anyone. I was in the lobby for the first time all but 5 minutes. I asked if they work on transmissions and they said yes and proceeded to ask my car make. Model, year so I told them. The older gentleman helping me laughed and in a rude condescending tone he said they won t work on my car make and essentially told me good luck find someone that will. I then realized they didn t know anything about transmissions because the older gentleman then mentioned that nobody will fully rebuild a CVT transmission (which is true . CVTs can t be rebuilt) and that they need fully replaced. Little do they know (a so called reputable transmission shop) that my car actually does not have a CVT transmission and that they started those 2 years later. I have a normal regular transmission.What a joke of a company and way to turn away and make a really bad impression on potential new customers. I ll make sure to pass the word.Update since posting review: The shop posted a reply asking for the make, year, and model of my car. Not sure the relevance of this request as I was already told they don t work on my car manufacturer type. The gist of my review was about how they were rude and unknowledgeable all within 5 minutes of my very first car impression with the place. I sincerely hope this shop wouldn t dip so low and make my review something that it s not. This was not about them refusing to work on my car it was the service I received that is quite telling of your business. I will post for the record that my car is a 2012 Subaru Forester.Update 10/16: Shop left another response to my review. Couldn t even take the time to even spell my name right which continues to show the disrespect in customer service I have received.The shop turned my review into an advertisement for their business instead and continued to ignore the facts. I do not care really that they turned me down for my car. The fact is, like I said before, that s not the heart of this review. It s a part of it sure but more so it s the customer service these guys portray.Anyway, unlike what the shop says, they are definitely not the only shop that can help Fort Wayne and the area in case anyone felt trapped in that way. I luckily did find another shop in the area that was gladly wanting to help and ultimately did fix my car.

Summit Transmission is the best experience I ve ever had with an auto shop. They towed my car straight to the shop and were able to describe to me in terms I could understand what was wrong with my transmission and started the work. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL! I received a quote from Summit Transmission after two other transmission shops told me the transmission needs to be replaced. As they had the cheapest price, I went with them. BIG MISTAKE. I was told towing is free, if they do the job for me. I thought that was great as I knew I needed a new transmission. After two weeks of waiting, I was called and told it is not the transmission that needs fixed but instead I had a failing cylinder. I asked where I could get that fixed and was told any mechanic could do that. I went to two different mechanics that told me that it was the transmission. So, all in all, 2 mechanics and 2 transmission shops told me the transmission was bad but Summit Transmission was not capable or willing to fix my problem. On top of all of that, they made me pay for the towing bill just to find out I had to take it to a different transmission place that finally fixed my car. After the transmission was fixed my problem was also gone.Shoutout to Lewis Transmission that did a job Summit Transmission was incapable of!

Summit Transmission was recommended to me through a friend. I drove over an hour from Michigan to do business with these guys, and I will continue to do business with them and send family and friends there as well!!! Very pleased with the knowledge and friendly staff. Dropped my truck off just before closing on a Monday, and it was done by 2pm on Wednesday the same week. Positive accolades for Summit Transmissions, a recommendation from Bill's Auto Repair. My appointment was timely scheduled, the repair was completed sooner than I expected, the fluid level was stabilized and the work was below the initial estimated cost. I am very much pleased with the excellent customer service.

So far I've just spoken with summit transmission on the phone to set up a time to bring my vehicle in for diagnosis and so far it's been a great experience. The people I spoke with were really helpful which makes me feel like this is a really good place to take my minivan.

Came and towed my truck from Kendallville to Fort Wayne for free. Installed new transmission the very next day. Price quoted was the price paid. Everyone was very nice & helpful! If i have transmission problems for any other vehicles or if anyone asks I will highly recommend Summit Transmission Inc. Thank u for getting me back up and rolling Summit!!

I called Summit Transmission. They were super friendly and knowledgeable! They performed a free inspection, tested it, and contacted me so that I know what was happening. As it turned out, I was very low on fluid, and they were honest about that and took care of that for me. I am very happy with the service and care that I received! I will seek their services should I need transmission work in the future. I would recommend

My cars transmission was scheduled for to be replaced on a Thursday, I was told it wouldn't be done until Monday. I took the car and dropped it off a day early (Wednesday). Brian called me Thursday morning and told me that they started working on it Wednesday and that it would be ready by closing on Thursday and it was. Very impressed with Brian and the entire staff at Summit Transmission. Highly recommended. Job well done. I will refer anyone who asks about Summit Transmission.
