South Gate Automotive just might be the best auto repair shop in the Fort Wayne area. The owner, Eric, has the perfect balance of knowledge, experience, and common sense. We took my daughter s car to 3 different places and no one could diagnose it exactly except for one estimate for at least $3,250+. Eric fixed it in one day for less than $300. Great job.

Southgate Auto is the BEST!!! Eric n his team of mechanics are on it!! Gets jobs done, CORRECTLY, is VERY FAIR on pricing give em a call, you ll b setup n on your way w/o destroying your wallet!!! Have a smile on your face n off ya go .

Just wanted to say this place is great. I called right before I took my lunch break, I only had a small problem. A screw in my tire. Every other place I called couldn't get me, Southgate Auto said bring it on over. They got me right in, took the screw out and patched the tire, filled it with air and I was back on the road. The owner didn't even charge me :) they gave me great customer service!! I'll definitely be back!Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

I will never go anywhere else but South Gate Automotive now! Great prices & Quality work! They were very professional and listen to my concerns about my vehicle and text all my issues! And believe me there was a lot of issues with my car! Now it's back in the same shape as when I first bought it! Been with Eric for 20+ years. He provides good quality customer service at fair and honest prices. Most important to me is that the job is done right the first time. He is the only mechanic that will touch my car and I have referred him to anyone I know needs his services. Often times when mechanics see a woman walk into their shops, they are taken advantage of with price gouging&dishonesty but NEVER will you have that problem with him. If I ever came into some money I would actually wanna invest in a bigger shop for him. Please don't ever leave us Eric

PLEASE DONT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP!!!!!!! You will be thoroughly disappointed. Run Run Run if you don't want to get ripped off. This is your warning. I'm out of $1,200 because of their bad work and customer service.

I called in to inquire about getting my Toyota Corolla serviced. It needed a head gasket and thermostat. When i called to get an estimate on price, his reply over the phone was "yeah I'm not even interested in working on that vehicle". I understand not wanting to work on certain vehicles, but his demeanor was very rude and definitely not what i would consider to be "good customer service".

Dependable work by a knowledgeable and experienced crew! After taking my car to 3 mechanics that couldn't find what was wrong with it and the awful noise it was making, Southgate Auto found it and had it fixed within a day! Since then, I always take my car to Southgate. I've even had it towed from Columbia City to make sure Southgate worked on it!

I been using them for all my Auto repairs since they ve open. The owner knows cars from the frame up and has integrity! I don t take my cars anywhere else.

MY OPINION !!! WORST CAR EXPERIENCE EVER!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE UNLESS YOU DO NOT WANT ONE! PAID OVER 3,500 FOR A TIMING CHAIN TO BE FIXED JUST TO HAVE MY CAR COMPLETELY GO OUT MONTH AND A HALF LATER. TOLD OWNER THERE WAS A NOISE IN MY VEHICLE (RATTLE WHEN STARTED) WHEN HE CHANGED THE OIL AFTER TIMING CHAIN FIX, HE PROCEEDS TO TELL ME ASLONG AS THERE ARE NO LIGHTS I WOULD BE FINE. COME TO FIND OUT I WAS NOT, ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING ONE DAY WHILE OUT TRIED TO MAKE IT HOME AND COULD NOT, NOR DID THEY CONNECT THE ALRAM OR HORN BACK INITIALLY, ALSO HUBCAPS POPPED OFF OF MY VEHICLE ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE SHOP INITIALLY AFTER THEY NEVER HAVE POPPED OFF BEFORE. NO LIGHTS EVER CAME ON TO MY VEHICLE TO TELL LOW OIL PRESSURE OR ENGINE LIGHT YET HE SAYS HE SCANNED THE SYSTEM AND TELLS ME EXACTLY WHEN MY LIGHTS CAME ON WHICH WAS ALSO FALSE BECAUSE NO LIGHTS EVER CAME ON IF SO I WOULD HAVE TAKEN IT UP THERE LIKE I DO WHENEVER I HAVE A LIGHT COME ON BUT SINCE NOTHING ELSE WAS CONNECTED AFTER LEAVING THE SHOP, THE WARNING LIGHTS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ALSO. CAR SAT AT THE SHOP FOR MONTHS BEFORE THEY EVEN LOOK AT IT JUST FOR THEM TO TAKE IT APART NOT PUT IT BACK TOGETHER OR HELP ME FIX THE VEHICLE EVEN IF I DID HAVE TO PAY AGAIN THEY DID NOTHING HIGHLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!Service: Engine repair

Always honest, fair, quick, and skilled. So many times they have helped me find parts for much cheaper than other places quoted, and they have never over charged me for work. This mom and pop business values customer service.

Had Midas plug my 2012 Dodge Durango rt in the computer and was told I need a heater core put on they wanted an arm and a leg so I called around. I came across South Gate repair on Google called. Before I could finish saying why I was sure I needed the heater fire out in he went you have more than a heater core problem in the nastiest arrogant voice I ve ever heard. Maybe suggesting because I m a woman I didn t know wth I was talking about probably. Lol well since I couldn t get a word in with you on the phone....here ya go ahole

Tho they didn't have the tire I needed in stocks they had a great referral and I thank them so much for pointing me in the right direction. Awesome service tho I wasn't a customer.

I found this to be one of the only professional shops on Fort Waynes south side. The work was done right and the price was more than fair. Eric the owner explained what was wrong and what it would take to do the repair. Great place.
