I felt a slip in my transmission. Called Russ Moore since they have been around a long time in Ft. Wayne and discussed my issue with them. I was told they could test drive and check the transmission the next morning and it would take about 45 minutes. I did that and they told me the transmission was acting perfectly but was a little low on fluid and they filled it back up. When I asked how much I owed them, the man that tested the car said they would not accept anything and "have never taken money for the testing service in as long as he has been there"WOW!! If I ever need a transmission actually repaired, be assured it will be at Russ Moore's

I have just recently had to utilize Russ Moore. They ran diagnostic services on my vehicle to pinpoint exactly what was wrong. Russ Moore employees stated that they weren't able to assist me as this was a speciality issue. They referred me to an expert that specialized in electrical for vehicles. Russ Moore did not charge me for their diagnostic services, expertise, or time. I appreciate their honesty and integrity. My mechanic charged me $80.00 just to look at my vehicle. They were unable to do anything and referred me to Russ Moore. I am so thankful that Russ Moore was able to give me the answers, no one else was able. As a mother of 4, in todays economy, I am beyond thankful to have had the level of service and integrity, shown at Russ Moore. Thank you!

I called today regarding my car's transmission. Although they can't work on my model of vehicle, the gentleman talked me through what to do and which questions to ask the dealership. He looked up my vehicle and explained things very thoroughly. It says a lot about a business when they take the time to answer questions and help! Thank you so much for your assistance!!!

They tested it read the codes told me that there's really nothing wrong with the transmission but it's all electrical on the exterior of the transmission. The motor and transmission is out of a different vehicle so I don't blame them for not wanting to try to tackle the job. But they were very professional very polite very nice told me I can ask any questions I want they will be happy to try to guide me the best they can and suggested another place that might be interested in doing it. I can respect that much more than somebody trying to take on something that they not comfortable with doing. So thank you Russ more for your time and your input and always trying to help me and not get paid for it I truly appreciate that

Really appreciate Russ Moore's knowledge and professionalism. Had another shop tell me that I was in need of a rebuilt transmission, even though my van wasn't running bad at all. So I called around and found the best deal and warranty (Russ Moore) on a transmission rebuild. After they looked at my van, they told me that it really wasn't showing any signs of needing it yet, and if it were their vehicle they would keep driving it until it showed more signs of a problem. I was ready to hand them over my money and they choose to take care of me rather than take advantage. To me, that says a lot about this company. Thanks, Russ Moore!Service: Transmission

Russ Moore told me my transmission needed a full rebuild that would likely cost over$2400. I got a second opinion and a smaller repair for $950 with Fort Wayne Transmission.

I called about a difficult to perform service, replacing differential gears. The person I spoke with was professional and explained they could change the assemblies but not the gears themselves. Asking if there was anyone they were aware of around Fort Wayne that could do this work, they gave me a referral. Turned out to be a dead end but really appreciated that they went above and beyond to help me find a solution. I think that speaks volumes about how they treat customers. Even the ones they can't necessarily help directly. Will definitely remember them as a genuine customer first type of business!

This place was recommended by a friend, and appears to be a top-notch shop in terms of quality, as far as I could tell from my research. Although the price is on the expensive side, I decided to go with them to replace the transmission in my '08 Grand Prix, due to their reputation for quality and their excellent warranty. My mechanic afterwards discovered that they forgot to reconnect at least one sensor, and the battery was not properly reconnected, which caused the battery to die. However, so far the replacement transmission has worked with no problems, so overall I am pleased with their work.

The car that I bought for my daughter had a transmission fluid leak and shakes at a stop when in gear..... I called Russ Moore to make an appointment and was given an 830am time for Wednesday 4/13. I dropped the car off the night before so that it would be ready when they are. I called at 1030am and they have not gotten to it yet. I told them I needed it by 5 and they said that they would call when they have information. My daughter got her license today and is looking forward to driving her car for the first time by herself. Will update as it goes. Hoping to give a good review.......430pm Everything went well. They were very friendly and professional. They were unable to determine where the shaking was coming from but they did replace the transmission lines and for slightly cheaper than they quoted over the phone (always a good thing) We shall see if it is still leaking in a day or two. Overall bumped from three stars to four. I would feel good about returning to Russ Moore. Thanks guys. My daughter is excited to be driving and I feel good to know that the car was in capable hands and is safe for her to drive.

I initially gave Russ Moore a 5 Star review. Sadly, I have had to change it since I encountered an issue with the transmission. I am now Frustrated with Russ Moore Transmission. I had the transmission rebuilt and 2 weeks later the car is undriveable because of a bad speed sensor which is connected to the transmission. Now why didn t they see this when they had the transmission was out. Of course they should have. The sensor had to be taken off when the transmission was taken out I was even initially told that it should have been noticed. However by the end of the conversation I was told that it could have been overlooked. Really? They said they would not charge me labor but would for the sensor. BS. They have had the car 4 days to fix the sensor. They didn t look at the first day. I called them at 3 pm they said they were just going to look at it and would call. No call. I call back at 11:00 am day 2. I was told that they were welding it in (implying that it should be done soon). No call I stop by at 4 pm ( before close) my car in outside with the hood open. They told me they had to get the part it would be done today. Today they call (my first call from them) and tell that they can t get the part until tomorrow. Seriously, the story changed three times. I guess they think I m stupid.

I had a great experience. I had a leak I wanted RM to diagnose and repair only if it could be done in a day. John the service adviser understood that and worked with me to ensure that I would be able to get the vehicle picked up after hours that day. In fact he went out of his way to make sure we could still use our vehicle's keypad to get in before leaving. Also, we have and aftermarket warranty on the vehicle and John called the warranty company to work out the payment details without seeming put out or bothered. This is great customer service.

Dropped my truck off to have them look at my transmission as I was getting error codes and it was acting up. The mechanic did a thorough inspection and found issues with the wiring to the transmission and recommended a good place to get the wiring repaired. They took the time to fully inspect the problem instead of jumping to a rebuild or costly repair. I am thinking the previous owner may have done this as the transmission was rebuilt only 3000 miles ago, and the previous shop they took it to may have rebuilt a transmission that didnt need it without resolving a wiring issue first.

We had our local shop replace the transmission on our 04 Mercury minivan. They used a Russ Moore rebuilt unit. We had made it clear that this vehicle had to go to Florida by a certain date. Our shop got the transmission replaced and completed on the Friday before. We drove it about 100 miles the next day, only to have a couple codes for torque converter pressure to come up. We took it back, and they said Russ Moores told them they would replace the transmission themselves. They did do that, however, it was after our set departure time. We had to get a rental car, an extra $500, for their mistake during the rebuild. When we got the van back, it still had to have an alignment and cleanup done. According to our local shop, Russ Moore felt it was not their problem that we had to rent a car, and that they had gone above and beyond simply be fixing their problematic rebuilt transmission. Mistakes happen, but how it is handled makes all the difference. Our shop paid more than half of the rental, which was generous on their behalf to cover Russ Moores mistake. I will continue with our local shop, however, Russ Moore will not get any more of my business.

The honesty was refreshing. Took my vehicle in knowing the transmission was bad, it wouldn't shift. They could have easily soaked me for a new or rebuilt transmission. Instead they pointesto some engine codes that may be the problem.I will absolutely point others in their direction when they think they need a transmission.GREAT JOB & THANK YOU!

They treated us very well. They found the problem with in hrs when the dealership could not find it in 3wks that they had our SUV. Got us in and got it done when they said they would. Will always take our other vehicles there if they ever need worked on. You can rest easy when you let there staff work on your vehicles. Thanks Dave and the rest of the staff too. Roger H.

Competent. They rebuilt a transmission for me several years ago. Their rebuilt unit failed after about a year but was still within the mileage warranty. They paid for the tow to the shop as well as the replacement unit. I don't blame them for the failure. It was a 4T-65E in a Buick Regal GS. Poor design from GM. Stock rebuilds just don't last. Get an upgraded rebuild with only premium components.

Apone taking my Durango there, I was adviced that my transmission needed to be replaced. After picking my Durango up, it was still down shifting hard and the RPM's were all over the place. We returned with it and they said everything was fine even with video footage of our concerns.Several visits and phone calls later they still dismissed our concerns even after we took them on their word that our transportation needed replaced. They charged us $2,691.76 for a replacement transmission when in fact all we needed was a "throttle position sensor " that cost us $48.07.They also said there were no codes showing up.I will be reporting my experience with the BBB!Our first bad experience was with a Chevy Malibu that they replaced a transmission on that leaked when we got it back from them.

Drove to Russ Moore in May 2017 to have them test drive and scan a 1999 Ford Ranger 4x4. The transmission was slipping at passing at highway speeds. After their test drive I was presented with two options to replace the transmission, and told the fluid level was okay and the scan pulled up nothing. I told them I would go home and discuss with wife.I tried to drive out of their parking lot and the truck would not move in forward or reverse. (You would think they would have mentioned that when they presented me with two options for replacement.) I dove it there!I did finally get it to move in second gear all the way home. Now it sets in the drive.I checked the fluid when I got home and it was a quart higher than when I last checked it, hmmmm.I have no proof they did anything, but I drove it there, they drove it and then I barely could get it home. You decide, its your car and your money. I just know I wont be going back.

Excellent experience very professional. I went in thinking there was serious major problem in witch most shops in fort wayne including dealers would have taken a huge advantage of and Russ Moses found the problem and with no major cost. Honest and very dependable. Thanks guys

We needed a transmission and was either going to go through loves church or russ moore because we needed to do payments. We decided we would go through russ moore cause when we called they said they would only have our truck for a day since they already had a rebuilt ready. We filled out the paperwork for financing so we could make payments and left our truck there. Next day our truck was never pulled in. Day after we call to see whats going on and they said they was just pulling it in. Mind you they never mentioned we wasnt approved for financing. So after having our truck a total of 4 days (which isnt bad but not what they said it would take).. they call us to come get our truck cause its finished and when we got there finally told us we wasnt approved for financing and would have to pay all up front and we wasnt getting our truck back till we did. We had other opitions and we should have been told.. im contacting the BBB over this. They knew we needed financing and couldnt afford $1800.
