NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE EVER. They will quote you a price before you go out and will upcharge it a ton. They are crooks and liars. They need to learn how to treat their customers properly and live up to their standards and not lie about the items they sell. They need to be closed down and never opened again. They tried to charge a part 150 dollars used when I can buy one new for 110 dollars. They are thief s and will pull anything to make sure you waste your time there. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND I SUGGEST YOU DO NOT EITHER.

Not only are the prices a great deal but, The team is made up of extremely compassionate and helpful people. They went above and beyond today for my 28 yr old disabled son in a wheelchair and myself today. While we were out in the yard the guys started coming out 1 then the next checking on us bringing us a Bottled water and even helping to pull the part for us to get us out of the heat. I was never expecting it to get hot so quickly today but if it had not been for these guys i probably would have had to end up leaving and not having a vehicle for a while. So thank you soo much for all your compassion and kindness towards us today. It is definitely much appreciated.

They've always been polite and helpful. If you make good rapport with them and are a regular customer buying parts they really start to discount them after you've been going a while continue to do business with them. They have lately been paying higher than all the other yards for scrap across the board. At least from what I have turned in. There is no fee to enter their yard . They are now requiring a mask in the office area but once you get outback in the yard where it's open you're not required to wear a mask at this time.they have a massive selection of vehicles to go through and find parts. They also have handcrafted scrap sculptures they are really great looking and innovative. They also have been putting down a considerable amount of gravel and fill so the yard is a lot cleaner than other yards in the area. Another bonus is they are open 7 days a week.

New owners have lost their mind. Went up on the prices at least 4~5 times what they were a week ago. It s a u pull it and they are trying to change more than full service yards .. I saw multiple people leave parts in the office when they found out the new prices in the few minutes I was there.Go to LKQ they are at least reasonable in their prices!

The guys are very helpful. I went by myself but needed a little help moving my rack to the car. They accommodated me with their massive fork lift.

I walked in before 5pm just to ask a simple question. I didn t even have tools or anything in my hand. And before I even said anything, the counter guy said we re closed buddy and blew me off. It s not my fault your overworked, underpaid and from the looks of it, hate your job..

Nice selection, nice service. I pulled the wrong hood for my brothers car, and they let me come back in and exchange it for the correct one. Everyone was pretty friendly, including yard staff working out in the loaders. Also, this yard is clean, you re not tripping over the leftover parts tossed all over the ground like some yards in town. No charge to come in and look either, so if they don t have what you need, you re not out anything but time.

Went to find a tire for my car. They were very helpful and got me right to the car that had a tire for me. I am disabled and walk with a cane. And the guys in the yard helped me with the tire and gave me a ride back up to the building. Price was very reasonable and the guys at the building took great care of my needs. Will recommend these guys for anyone who needs a part for their vehicles.

The old guy at this yard likes to price himself right on out of the market. Stay away from this place because you can get better prices on Ebay most of the time. They need some good management and uniform prices or they should just close the doors. Not just once but 5-6 times he has tried to rip me off and I went to take a part in new haven and got the same things for 1/3 of the price and even mills auto parts was half the price. Stay away from this retail priced yard.

Shafer's was an awesome experience. Love to turn a wrench, and going in and getting the parts you need. Is a very good thing for you to be able to do. When a specially part or something that is ridiculous in price is not an option. 2 thumbs up

I'm not sure what has changed from all these positive reviews talking about helpful staff, but I've had two interactions here and both were awful. I'm looking for a specific non-interchange part for a trim that was only made for 5 years. The first time, I went in person, and it took me about 4 times asking in different ways for the gentleman at the counter to actually look up in their system if they had a vehicle on their lot of the correct year range. There was exactly one, but when i couldn't physically locate it, they stated it might have been crushed but not removed from inventory. I called back a week later, and explained that I needed to know if the one vehicle they had told me on their lot was still there, and the person on the phone told me "Well its either still here or it's been crushed." Well no kidding buddy. I again asked the question in a couple different ways, but it was very clear that this person had no intention of actually getting on the computer to look up if the one vehicle that their inventory system stated was on the lot was still in the system, or had been removed from the system and therefore crushed. The final response I got was, "we have several of that model on the lot." Absolutely unhelpful. I've never heard of a auto salvage lot that could not tell you what cars they had in inventory. I'm not driving 45 minutes one way only to find out that the car you have is 10 years newer than the one I need, because someone couldn't be bothered to check the system.

We went in today looking for a passenger side fender for my husband's truck. Shane and David were amazing and they are responsibly priced if you're in Fort Wayne and are looking for used car parts come see these guys. Much better Service than LKQ

Best place around if your prefer to pick your own parts. Employees are helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are the best you'll find anywhere. Their inventory is growing and its one of my favorite places to find what I need.

Love this yard. It's free to get in. And huge selection of cars. The staff is real helpful and down to earth. Sure beats some of the other local yards. This my 1st choice when I need a part for cheap

Recycled a bunch of scrap metal. Pretty easy process and fairly friendly service. They don't take glass or plastic though unlike some other recyclers in the the city so I had to bust a widow out in the back of my truck. Thankfully another customer loaned me a hammer to do the job.
