Went there a couple years ago and got my transmission rebuilt, they ended up messing it up, had it taking back 3 times and after months of waiting it finally worked for 50,000 miles and now it s messed up again. I m not a bad driver on the transmission by no means and it was just poor work skill.

If you like supporting local business, looking for honest, and caring people who are knowledgeable about your vehicle then this is your place. Bear was my second opinion after AMMCO tried raking me over the coals and I'm so happy I took my vehicle here. Tom the owner is genuine and will shoot you straight. They are in the business of honest work. I will take all my car needs to Bear Transmission!!!

they take months to repair after they said a week after getting dropped off I kept calling every 2 weeks they said they d be done in few days but weren t when they finally got done 4 month later. I came back to car with stolen valuables and they didn t take responsibility, saying they get things stolen from their parking lot very frequently.

They have a poor security and had $1200 sub amp systems stolen from them and they took no responsibility for the cuz no signs of brake in in the vehicle so I assume one of the workers stole it and they are Hypocrite and tell me that other vehicles at there shop has had stolen things in there shopIf u leave a vehicle with them take pictures before dropping off or take anything valuable out

Took my truck in another shop they said I needed a transmission rebuild, dropped it off so bears could look at it and they found a linkage that was broken ! Saved me thousands .. very honest company

I give 5 star rating for customer service when I called with a few questions... The advice, mentality and respect the owner showed has me convinced it's a top notch shop... He could of said it's this and that just to get me in the door like a few other local shops have done or tried...I highly recommend this business and let them know how much you appreciate the money they saved you.... Thanks again...

They finally got the truck done a month later. Was told 2days then he said it needed shift solenoids, so he put them in. Then said thats not the problem, had the truck 2 more weeks then said it was a mechanical problem. Long story short it was the plate in the transmission. I picked it up paid the bill got home look at the bill and was charged for the solenoids and a few other things that was not bad.

Had my vehicle for over 2 days without even communicating to me that they didn't have the time to look at it. I was initially told I would have an answer as to what was going on the next day, which never happened. I understand they were extremely busy, but a little communication would have gone a long way

I went to a local repair shop when the transmission for my 2001 Ford Ranger started acting up. The repair shop told me that the transmission was slipping really bad and that I could purchase a new transmission through them for $3,000. This was nearly what my vehicle was worth. Since my truck was still drivable, I thought I would get a second opinion from Bear Transmission (recommended from a friend).I took it there, and they said they would take a look at it and get back with me. They called me back and told me they didn't see anything wrong with the transmission and they had seen a problem before with a blown gasket and fixing that could resolve the problem.Sure enough, that was the problem. Cost me $330 and on top of that they welded my muffler back into place since they noticed it was detached (I didn't even ask for this!!!!). This was over the top service and am glad to recommend them for their services.

What a nightmare, I had set up an appointment for May 3, on April 20. They told me they needed the vin.# to order the transmission. So I got the info and emailed it right over and received a thank reply. Needless to say they never ordered it and it would take a week to get here. But to top it off the parts guys told me he never got the vin. # what a liar

My bf and I were a bit stranded in evansville this past week. Another shop (aamco) basically tried to rape our pockets by telling us we needed unnecessary work done that was still ridiculously overpriced even if it was needed. Tom took the time out of his very busy day to look and fix our vehicle at an awesome price. I recommend Bear transmissions over any place in the area. Excellent vehicle and customer service all around. From owner to techs and even Harley (office gal) was awesome. We couldn't thank you guys enough!!!
