Really nice restaurant and good home comfort food. Parking is FREE outback for tractor trailers on and if you fuel more than 100 gallons you get $10 cash. The server (Karen) was working as the busser as well as the lady who cashes you out. She was a one woman team serving 20+ people and did an incredible job!I was very impressed with her work ethic and she didn t leave any table unturned. The cook did an incredible job as well, I ordered the white fish & home fries.Restaurant was clean as well.Visited 8/18/23

This used to be a free parking spot. I tried to offer buying 10 dollars worth of product to pay for my parking, but it's like they knew being so close to the city I have no other option but to pay their 10 bucks. I believe that if a truck stop has only pay for parking spots, they need to have PFP symbols on their signs and on their Google maps. I'm not surprised they did this. I'm just sad I won't be stopping here anymore. I LOVED the restaurant inside...

Free parking, good shower with fresh towels and rag.The restrooms are bad, but not because of management or them being nasty. The drivers come in here and treat it like a dump. Came in an someone didn't even have the decency to flush. Leaving toilet paper on the floor. Do better fellow drivers

This truck stop is trashy, and dirty. there s very few polite cashiers. I stopped returning when the cashier got in my face, practically spitting on me because I didn t have my id on me that day. Came in once a week to buy a vape, had seen the cashier many times and he s seen my id. I understood I should have had it, and need it to buy nicotine, but that reaction was uncalled for, and if I hadn t been so floored I probably would have slapped him for leaning so far over the counter to get in my face. Food at the diner is good and the waitress we had the one time I went was really sweet, but I ll never spend money here again.

I would like to start out this review by not only sharing about my personal experiences here But, also providing the latest updated information so that you will not be negatively influenced by previous reviews that have already been posted.Parking:As of January 1, 2024 the $10.00 parking fee has been canceled. Although, the parking lot is big & paved there are a few areas that can be rougher too navigate through but not anything you wouldn't experience in any construction zone across this country.Staff:The graciousness that was displayed towards me & other customers was top notch and made my entire experience very pleasant.Food:I ate at the restraunt and was very satisfied with not only the quality But, also how it was presented. I had eggs, corn beef hash & toast. The beverage came in a larger than normal sized cup unlike most restraunts today. The food was prepared exactly how I had ordered it and came to my table in less time than I had anticipated. For dessert I had chocolate mouse pie and everything that I ordered was perfect in every way. There are also other food choices if you might want to grab something and go.Mr. Biggs fried chicken is available with a newly opened Hunt Brothers Pizza.Personally, regardless of what you choose to eat your customer service experience will make everything just taste that much better.Let's Talk About Prices:Pricing for food & beverage were below average for what you would pay elsewhere But, yet the quality & portion sizes were more than enough for a big appetite. Please don't miss out on an opportunity for Great Food, Excellent customer service and Fantastic prices when you are in Cloverdale, Indiana.YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS PLACE!!!

I love that this is like an Old School Truck Stop except that it is owned by foreigners and eventually might be serving curry. "I hope not." I had a Spanish omelet for breakfast, and it was excellent. They didn't skimp on cheese or anything it was loaded with ham, sausage, and vegetables and cooked right, not under or over cooked. The waitress and cook were very nice and respectful and talked to the customers like good friends. I'll be coming back here as long as it stays this way.

Steer Clear of the Cloverdale Travel Plaza: A Pit Stop from HellLet me tell you, folks, if you're cruising down the highway and see the Cloverdale Travel Plaza beckoning like a mirage in the distance, do yourself a favor and keep cruisin'. This ain't a rest stop worthy of your weary car tires or rumbling stomach. It's more like a roadside nightmare disguised as a convenience oasis.First off, the parking lot. Think off-roading course meets garbage dump. Potholes big enough to swallow a Smart car, cracks that could launch your grandma's sedan airborne, and enough spilled fuel to power a small island. The whole thing tilted at an alarming angle, too, leaving my coffee sloshing and my sense of balance questioning life choices.Speaking of questionable choices, let's talk food. Prices so inflated they'd make Scrooge McDuck blush. A stale hot dog cost me more than a first-run movie ticket, and the "grilled chicken salad" turned out to be a pile of iceberg lettuce drowning in mayonnaise, with a lone, petrified chicken nugget perched mournfully on top. My advice? Pack your own PB&Js, unless you fancy paying highway robbery premiums for lukewarm disappointment. But wait, the fun doesn't stop there! To escape this culinary atrocity, I attempted to leave, only to be faced with another injustice: parking fees that'd make a Wall Street banker raise an eyebrow. For the "privilege" of enduring potholes and overpriced bologna, they wanted to extort another ten bucks from my already empty wallet. In conclusion, the Cloverdale Travel Plaza is a monument to highway robbery disguised as a pit stop. It's a pothole-ridden, over-priced, tastebud-torturing purgatory that should be avoided at all costs. Take my word for it, keep driving. There's a gas station down the road with vending machines and a slightly less treacherous parking lot. Your stomach, your budget, and your sanity will thank you.

Well this place took the usual downhill slide of old school truck stop when it gets taken over! Buyer beware is all I'm going to say.Let s start this off by saying this is not a Pilot or Loves.. ITS AN OLD SCHOOL TRUCKSTOP PEOPLE! Parking lot has plenty of room and a repair shop if needed. The showers were clean and the staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean and the food was good. Finally found a spot you can park and not have to eat fast food like all the others mentioned have converted to.

I can t speak for the restaurant and there is good parking space, however the fuel islands don t have stuff to clean your windows and the whole place is kind of trashy. Inside, I waited while the cashier was off somewhere else. When she finally showed, there was no sorry for your wait or thank you for spending too much of your hard-earned money to support my hourly wage. Another, in a long line of places where customer appreciation is only a memory. The other truck stops are usually full, and now we know why. My recommendation? Go somewhere else

I believe this place has been remodeled because I thought it was pretty clean. Food was delicious! The eggs with corned beef hash and French toast. Yummy

I love small town truck stops like this that have home town pride compared to national chains. It feels makes me feel more welcome. Its a great place to stop for a good meal at a decent price. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

The food was really good. Just a little crispy for me. The waitresses were friendly, until you could see them talking about you. That's the only thing I didn't care for. The whole place has that old tyme wholesome to it. The bathrooms were disgusting, but the rest of the place was pretty clean. I didn't see any of them clean a table with a washcloth after someone left. But at least they were nice.

The restrooms could be smelled from the hallway. Once stepping inside .WOW. It s a pretty sad state when I deem a restroom too unsanitary to take a dump in. Two stars for the reasonably priced soda and half decent breakfast sandwich. First that I ve stopped here in years. I used to a lot when on this route. I think this ll be the last. It s definitely a shell of it s former glory.

Dirty and smelled like an old wet factory floor. We got gas (over priced by about 20 cents per gallon plus it was with ethanol which I hate. We all used the restrooms and left.

The restaurant had good food and customer service, which is why they got 2 stars, otherwise it would have been 1 star rating. The truck stop portion had the typical items. The truck stop section did not give cash advances though, these people don't understand that is how some owner operators buys fuel and runs their operations. The people who run these smaller places are from overseas (i.e. India) and don't have a clue how a truck stop is supposed to operate.

Love this truck stop. There is a lot of variety of restaurants around there and there is a market about 1/2 of mile from there.

I took a chance that this would be an acceptable place for a 34hr reset based on the following. Others have remarked on the quality of food as being unsatisfactory. So, I looked nearby, saw the Mexican restaurant had good reviews and figured I'd just get food across the street (turns out the food there was unpleasant as well). Right off the bat, i saw the parking lot, though big, was on a hillside and had been made following the hill contour, leaving everyone who parks here on vertically angled ground, sleeping on a vertical angle- some places the angle is steeper than in other places, and the lot surface is old somewhat broken up asphalt with some significant potholes. Next, there was a line to use the crappers, and the empty crapper was plugged and nasty- I walked out and didn't return for their bathrooms. Asked if they charge for showers- was told $12; if I'm paying $12 for a shower, I expect a clean shower room- it wasn't, the floor definitely needed to be cleaned, as well as the whole floor and some of the walls leading up to the 2nd floor showers; not sure what it was, but there was a slightly repulsive scent in the air heading up to the shower rooms- probably a matter of cleaning the place. After seeing how run down the Cloverdale Travel Plaza is, as well as finding the one restaurant I was counting on to be good only to find out it isn't, I wouldn't risk doing my laundry here and wouldn't recommend doing a 34hr reset here, not with other and better options outside indianapolis and st louis, options which have higher standards for cleanliness and food quality. Oddly enough, the owner posted signs for fees for littering but does not have any dumpsters or trash bins in the parking lot- apparently oblivious to why people left trash laying around. To the owner of Cloverdale Travel Plaza- it's not working out- you need to either up your standards and invest in fixing the problems or take a serious look at selling the truckstop to someone who actually knows what they're doing and knows how to make it work in a way that strengthens rather than weakens the community.

Best breakfast I've had all week.Large parking lot, with a bit of a hill to work up an appetite. Nicely remodeled restrooms, a nice 'old school' truck stop feel in the rest of the place, including the restaurant. Took full advantage of the all day breakfast, and it was easily the best breakfast I've had in awhile, leaving me full. Will definitely be a regular stop whenever I roll through.

One of the worst meals iv"e ever eaten in all my travels. The fried chicken breading was dark brown. The chicken itself was not cooked. Blood ran. Green beans were extremely salty. My over easy eggs were more like tire patches. No butter on melba ? toast. Fuel island had diesel puddles. DON'T STOP HERE>

This definitely is a good old school truck stop. The food was good and the service was good and friendly. Many places like these have closed down, This place is definitely one I will be stopping at more frequently. I spent 34hr break hear and it was nice and peaceful. I recommend this place to any trucker that appreciate the way truck stops used to be unlike how a lot of them are nowadays.

had mamie as our waitress and she was the sweetest and is amazing with the guests. you can definitely tell she works hard. the french toast is honestly the best i ve ever had, and the breaded mushrooms are a definite must try. i don t know what they put in their breading but it had so much flavor, i had them in my fridge for a few hours and they were still super good even when they re cold. my only complaint is the bathroom. it was just kind of icky in there and there wasn t any soap in the dispenser, and in its place was a watered down bottle of dawn dish soap with just suds leftover. other than that and the gas station being pricey, everything was great.

Seemed like a rather quiet rest stop and the employees were very nice. My biggest problems were the food and bathroom. The Mac and cheese was just cooked elbow macaroni and that was it. The spaghetti was okay but the sauce was just mushy ground beef with a zesty sauce. It would have been great if it wasn't for the mushy. The garlic toast didn't taste like garlic at all. It was just buttered and tasted weird like it was burnt on rusy iron. The bathrooms were the worst. As a woman I expect that the seats are at least cleaned due to having to sit for every process. But, bring a cleaning wipe with you. It stinks as well. You can tell they don't clean it much at all. If you buy things check expiration dates. Their milk was out of date last I saw. But, everyone was very nice to me and was happy to try and help with my small complaints. That was their biggest positive.

Got Haley on her first day alone as a waitress. She was fast, friendly and courteous despite being alone and having 4 or 5 tables to wait on and 2 to-go orders. The food here needs no explanation. Stellar as always. 5 stars because I only stop here for the restaurant. The store could use some work, but I'm used to that and it doesn't really bother me anyhow. The only real complaint I had this time was there was no toilet paper in the restrooms, but that was quickly handled after I told the guys in the store.

Seemed like an okay place had good reviews... I had the fried chicken dinner and the thigh piece was still bleeding. mac and cheese was dry, the baked potato was a baked potato and I also got a bowl of soup The menu said $3.99 and I was charged $9.99?? Was told it was the special but didn't see that anywhere I would've never bought a $10 bowl of soup that had less than 8 oz of soup in it. In total the bill was over $25 that's outrageous won't be eating there again
