Jason, the manager, gave an accurate estimate of what needed to be fixed on the car. He had the car ready when he told me it would be and the cost was reasonable. He followed up the next day to see how the car was running. It works so much better than it did before. In the future if the car needs any repairs, I will take the car back to Jason.

My 23 year old daughter brought her car in there today and paid $65 for them to diagnose why the car kept dying on her. Found out it was the battery.They quoted her $350 for a new battery and she declined as we could get one put in for a lot less. Keep mind she paid $65 for the diagnosis.My husband walks in as he was going to drop our other daughters car off to get work done. He was dropping it off for them to do the work as we pretty much knew what had to be done. The manager Jason, said to him what you want me to diagnosis yours too just so you can take it somewhere else . My husband asked him to repeat himself and the manager repeated it so my husband walked out. I would not recommend as they seem to have an attitude even if you pay for a diagnostic but don t have them do the work. My daughter was going to make an appointment to have her brakes done there as well but that won t be happening now. No reason to treat anyone that way and talk to a father like that in front of his daughter. Its hard to find a good shop with people who are polite and honest. Jason always does a fair and good job.Taken my car in here for minor fixes, and oil change. They do not nickle and dime you, fair prices. They present you with other issues and give you a quote, but are not push 'sales' people.

This past Friday night my truck's ABS light came on while driving on the highway for a trip to Michigan. I needed new front brake pads and rotors along with a front hub bearing assembly. I owe great gratitude to the reliability and effort of the MTI team in Chesterton for being able to fix and repair my truck to get us back on the road the very next day in outstanding time. Very highly trained and genuine staff i was on my way home to canada from chicago and caught a back tire flat and was stranded over night at their shop once they opened the owner took me in no hassle swapped my tire and had me on my way would 100% recommend this shop for any automotive needs the owner truly values and cares about his customers !!!!!!

Excellent service. Jason explained the options and he was very informative about what was needed to keep the vehicle safe and well maintained. He listened to the description of the issues with the vehicle and gave knowledgeable advice. The Jeep is running great now! He explained the guarantee and to call him with any follow up questions.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Girl had my volvo s60 there today to get a tire balanced. They insisted on giving her an estimate for a front end noise that we already know what the issue was but instead of just saying ok, they took my car on the road to determine the noise its making with zero permision and even after being told no. They gave us an estimate of over 1200$ and all it is, is a strut spring bushing. This is the second time she took a car there and they tried to swindle her. The other time was for a brake light and they tried telling her a circuit bord was bad and needed replaced. Of corse when i went there they couldnt show me the circuit bord they told her needed replaced. So after taking my car on the road without any permision i highly recomend not using this place to get repairs done especially if your a woman..

Showed up. Greeted the gentleman and he wouldn t bother to return the greeting. Not warm and friendly towards me for some reason. It s a shame because I have 5 vehicles and have spend over 10k this year on repairs and maintenance. I would have loved to establish a good working relationship with them because I value using neighborhood businesses but definitely not feeling a sense of wanting my business. Moving on.

I ve been to many places for an oil change and I ve had to either camp out half the day in the waiting room, or they come out telling me I have to replace everything but the windshield on my vehicle.I can pull into MTI and they ll fix a simple light or service of any type.As a single woman, it s nice to know that Jason and his team help keep me safe on the road with my vehicles.

My brakes have been acting up and I needed an oil change. I had a recommendation for MTI services. Jason got me in right away for the oil change and let me know that my brakes needed immediate attention. I asked if he could get it done today he said that could be done and at a great price. My daughter's water pump went out yesterday on her way back to college. Had the car towed to MTI in the afternoon and it was ready at 8 am today. Jason and his crew did an awesome job getting her back on the road. Nothing better then knowing you have good honest mechanics in town.

It is hard to find trustworthy mechanics. But Jason is honest and good and as a father of four daughters I can always feel safe when I know they need there cars repaired I send them to MTI in Chesterton even though we live in Valparaiso. Thanks Jason and his staff for keeping are vehicles on the road!!! And we will continue to let are friends and anyone else know about your shop keep up the good work.

Interstate trip from Wisconsin to Ohio. Check engine light came on at night. Very stressful. These two great guys ran my codes even before they opened up the next morning. Gave me great advice. Genuinely cared about me. Thank you for the help, I m very grateful!

I am so glad I read the reviews and decided to give Jason/MTI a try. My family and I used to go to Jim s Auto (Senior) for 30+ years because he was so honest and trustworthy and always made sure he followed through with the work he did. I can now say my family and I have found our new mechanic. I had all kinds of issues build up in my BMW 328i. Broken wiper blade motor, flooding, heater vent issues, clogged vapor core, leaking windshield etc. It was a mess. Jason was able to have everything done a day later, new parts installed, found other issues I didn t know I had, and, cleaned and cleaned out, and, fixed everything. He reminded me to swing by anytime if I had any further issues and he would take care of it right then and there. He was a man of his word. Found out I had an additional leak still. I pulled up and within 15 mins he fixed the problem. He reminded me that he wants all of his customers to be happy and satisfied and to get what they paid for. Also, a SUPER clean shop and lobby. Very nice. I truly feel relieved that I have found a mechanic who is honest, fast, knowledgeable, and cares about his reputation and takes pride in his work. He also texted me to check in and make sure I was happy with everything. What else is there? Perfect. Will be going back for all of my car maintenance needs. Jason at MTI is the guy you want your daughter to take her car to. He ll tell you needs done now, what can wait until you can afford it, and doesn t try to make you buy stuff just because. Jan 2023 Went in for tire repair, was in and out within a short period of time. They were busy and phone was ringing off the hook.
