Absolutely unhelpful on every level. Take your money elsewhere. I was traveling long distance when I stopped here. I had a flat on the highway, on the inside edge of the tire, and pulled into Dean's tire shop in Chesterton.They said that they didn't have any tires in stock that fit my car, and that the soonest they could get them would be the next morning - so I'd probably need to get a hotel room.Fine. I figured I'd try a different shop. Dean's shop lied and told me they'd called every tire shop nearby and no one had any tires to fit my car. They said my only choice was to wait. Since they had the tire off, I asked if they could keep it off so I could plug the tire. They agreed, so I went across the road to get a plug kit.I come back, and they've already put the tire back on. They then refused to let me plug it on their property despite agreeing five minutes prior without any real explanation.I drove on the run-flat to the nearest big brand tire shop, and what do you know? They had seven different tires in my size, with a few run-flats. I called another nearby ship just to be sure, and they also had a tire in stock.I got my tire changed at the big brand shop and made my way home. I don't recommend this unhelpful, discourteous, miserly, and above all dishonest business to anyone.

I was driving to Cleveland from Chicago and noticed my air pressure light came on after I refilled my air in Chicago. It was bitterly cold so I figured I'd stop off the highway and ensure everything was ok. It turns out, I had a nail in the tire! The team at Dean's was so fast and accommodating, I was back on the road in less than an hour. Nothing beats safety and reliability! Thank you Deans!

I went to this shop with what i thought was a wheel bearing problem on a 2500 ram. They diagnosed the problem as a bearing in the rear differential. I was towing a camper 600 miles from home and the parts were not available for 7 days and i could not wait. I made it home and they were right with the diagnosis. Recommended....

My wife and five children were driving a thousand miles across the country when the alternator went out in our Honda pilot. We barely pulled into Dean's and the car died. They were closing and although they could not do the repair because it was a lengthy one, they did a diagnostic for us, told us what was wrong, and told us a few other mechanic shops that would be open the next day. They even didn't charge us as they saw the headache that we were dealing with. I would definitely recommend them if you live in this area as honest and helpful mechanics.

After 7000 mile cross country trip, GPS took me to I80 near Chicago. Wife, daughter and two dogs aboard. The potholes were worse I have ever experienced and we had tire damage. Being it was 4th of July and everything was closed, I got hotel for night and went to Dean s first thing in the morning. They installed 4 new tires and gave me alignment before it was checkout time. Thank you so much for your utmost professionalism! You helped us get home to Pennsylvania!

I just got my car back from Dean's. They completely honored the work the did on this car from nearly two years ago that was experiencing a problem. They got us in right away and gave us a loaner, too.Every business can have things that go wrong, but the ones who go out of their way to make it right are the ones I want to stick with. Very happy!

We were traveling from PA to Nebraska and had urgent tire issues! We took the first exit and found this place. They were a godsend! They seemed busy but got us right in and back on the road in less than an hour and for less $ than I thought it would be. Their service and kind staff saved the day for us!

I bought 4 tires and a spare. My front right passenger tire kept deflating since installation. I went back, they claim to have fixed it but I was still having the same issue. I ended up going to Discount Tires to get it replaced. Haven't had a problem since.

I have been taking vehicles to Dean s for well over a decade. Their service is top-notch, and their staff is courteous and knowledgeable. They always take the time to explain what my car needs and are honest about work that it doesn t need. They have also advised me when it was time to stop fixing a vehicle and replace it although they could just as easily have taken my money. On occasion they have even supplied me with a loaner car or provided me with a ride home when my car was being serviced. I should also mention their competitive pricing and the interest free financing they set me up with for my last tire purchase. You will not regret taking your car to Dean s!

I scheduled online for an oil change and a transmission flush with ease. I went to appointment as scheduled. Check-in process was easy. Staff was friendly. I was informed that the wouldn't be able to do transmission flush that it required special equipment from Nissan. The oil change was performed and they offered a complimentary tire rotation. They offer text updates if you are not waiting.The promotional price was great. I would go back there again.

I live a state over but was in town visiting a friend when my car completely and utterly died. We pushed (yes physically pushed) the car over to Deans the next day. I called and made an appt, and they were SO understanding and welcoming. Turns out it was my starter that I had replaced at another place, and they worked with my old mechanic and me to fix it under warranty. My old mechanic made it an absolute living hell, and belittled me. So when I called Deans to explain the situation, I was sobbing on the phone with them and they did absolutely everything in their power to help me. Anytime I need something done with my car, I will be taking it to Deans from out of state. Brian and Ryan were absolutely amazing. I can t recommend this place enough. Give these guys a raise. They deserve it.

Since I moved to Chesterton I ve been going to Dean s and I haven t been disappointed yet. I ve been here about 3 times, once to have my starter replaced, another to get new tires/brake package, and another for a blown tire. Everyone who works is friendly and explains things thoroughly. You often see the same faces when you come which is always nice. They often get you what you need same day if not the next, and they offer free car rentals in the meantime. I love the estimate tool on their website so you aren t blindsided when you go in. They also offer great financing. No complaints!

We had been loyal customers of Deans for several years . A month ago I was having issues with my car idling , called Deans and they said they could take a look . We took it in and they said it was carbon build up and needed to change some wiring , $1,000 later they claimed it was fixed . Next morning I was driving to Chicago and my car did the exact same thing . I had to have it towed to nearest auto shop where they proceeded to tell me that whoever looked at my car yesterday did absolutely nothing to fix the problem, it was actually a transmission issue . I called Deans to let them know the situation and thought having been a loyal customer they would try to make us happy with some refund or even a few free oil changes . Nope . They basically said it wasn t their problem. Horrible customer service. Wouldn t recommend this business to anyone .

Dean's saves the day!! I had a terrible experience with a shop in Chicago (not affiliated with Dean's) three days before Christmas. When I FINALLY got my car home, I had to take it back in and, of course, went to Dean's. Not only did I feel real empathy from them for all the issues I had had, but they were quick to do whatever they could to help. Quality work from quality people!

I m originally from Chesterton and was back in town for a family funeral when Thursday night we realized on my son s 1995 Camry, the serpentine belt had broke and we were running on battery. Friday morning I called Dean s and explained my situation and would be leaving town on Saturday. Ryan at the front desk got us right in, replaced the belt and one other that was worn and had the car ready just in time Friday afternoon to get to the funeral home at 2:00 pm. Great, friendly service and very reasonably priced. Thanks for the quick service that took one more thing off my plate that could have added a lot more stress to what was already a stressful couple of days.

Dean and his Team were professional and most helpful in making the needed repairs to my work van. I felt the price was fair and will be bringing future vehicle repairs their way. It was also great to see Dean there. He and his shop have been a fixture in our town for many years.

I recently had some major repairs done on my care and would like to thank Dean's Tire for a job well done. The staff were very polite and helpful and the mechanics did a very professional job. They kindly let me use a courtesy vehicle while my car was at the garage and they were kind enough to follow up on my repairs to make sure all was good. A special mention to Ryan and the receptionist for their excellent service and help.

Phenomenal group of employees. I was able to receive a quote and schedule the appointment online. The work on my vehicle began on time and repaired immediately. I started going to Dean's a few years back. I will never shop any where else for tires. I have used my tire warranty 3 times alone saving about $115 dollars. They will also work on certain things on my Tesla, like brakes. Everyone there is awesome. Thank you guys for saving me from disaster more then Once.

I would recommend. They did a great exceptional job. Got two front tires and an oil change. Was just passing through and they got it done so fast. Great prices, friendly staff.

Took my car in to have it be able to pass emissions and get the check engine light off. First time it cost me over $300 and they told me I am good to go on passing emissions. Not even two days later the check engine light came back on and I didn't get to go to the emissions place yet. Brought it back to Dean's and told them I was pretty upset and they offered to not charge me a $125 diagnostic fee this time. So I paid them another $110 to fix this sensor that caused my check engine light to come back on. Once again they told me I was good to go on passing emissions. Well again, before I was able to bring it to the emissions place the light came back on 2 days later. I'm not even going to bother bringing it back to them. The only good thing about this place is they offer you a car to drive while they are working on your car.

Dean's Tire are not honoring written quotes generated by their own website. You go there and they change price on the spot..This is their "method" to attract customers.Their excuse is in order : This is a 3rd party website not owned by Dean's , the selection was made by a computer not a mechanic, we are not responsible for the info on that website and so on. If the website is "defective" causing issues , why is accepted by Dean's the way it is? The answer is: it is convenient to have it like this and trap you into wasting time by going...In essence a serious business would eliminate any potential issues by correcting the website or eliminate it al together to make sure there is no "potentially wrong" quote possible.. It is sad that we have such businesses in Chesterton by using these practices.

Guy working the counter wasn't very personable. I relayed the issues to him that my daughter was having with her car and we were told the exhaust guy was on vacation, to leave the car and they would call me with an estimate. Estimate was outrageous, and on top of that I was charged $130 just to get an estimate. I should've been told that there was a charge from the beginning! Took the car 2 other places for estimates and both were at least $800 cheaper. I'll never go back!

I contacted Dean's Tires while looking for services for a free car that was donated to a needy family. This was days before Christmas. Dean worked with parts people and his own people and got this car emissions ready for this family within a few days. I was expecting to pay something for these services, but Dean said it was taken care of. I was so surprised! This is a great example of how the Chesterton community comes together to help each other out. And Thank you to Deans Tires for being top notch people and business! If you are looking for honest, good service, go to Dean's in CHESTERTON!

I ll keep this short. My truck had several problems and while the missed one on my initial visit they fixed the problem and didn t charge for the extra labor it took to fix. I appreciate that and will continue to give them my business.

I have been a satisfied customer in the past, but will now go to Deans as little as possible. Management of Deans Tire and Auto clearly does not care about the health and safety of their customers: client-facing staff do not wear masks. I can understand the mechanics in the back of the shop foregoing masks if they like, but client-facing staff should follow public health advice and wear masks to keep their customers safe.

My husband Mark, made an appointment 4 days ahead of time for a 9 AM front alignment on his Ford Escape. He dropped it off at 8AM and went to do some work close by. At noon he walked over to find his car in the same location where he left it at 8 AM. When he went inside a inquired about it he was told that the appointment was only to reserve a place in line. They never told him that at the time of making the appointment. Deans, we've used you before but never again. I gave you one star because 0 stars isn't available, 0 is exactly how much that you did.
