Bloomington has a unique automotive repair shop here; competent mechanics w/ excellent diagnostic skills, the equipment to assist w/ modern automotive repair procedures and a wonderfully kind an honest owner in Gary (whom I have known since my return to Btown from L A back in 2009). My wife and I have had a variety of old and new automobiles serviced here over the last decade and a half and have always been very satisfied with both the fair price and most importantly the competent fix it right the first time repair ethic. Other shops in town could learn from the quiet success or this unsung hero in the Btown auto repair scene; no fanfare and no VIP testimonials are needed here, just your average Bloomingtonian that relies on their vehicle(s) day in and day out to be productive contributors to our local economy. Bravo, Gary Singh! You are a true asset to our community and we appreciate you.

I'd never heard of this place before, but I was calling around for help with an unusually specific bit of car work. These guys did just what I needed, they did it quickly, they did a good job, they were friendly, and the price was fair. I think they just earned a new future customer.

These guys go extra miles to look for the parts my car needs. The lady who kept me updated is very friendly and responsible. This is my first time coming to the repair shop, and I appreciate their attitude.

Gary and his team at Southern Automotive have always serviced my vehicles for 6 years in a friendly, professional and affordable way, whether I was driving a new sports car or an old pickup truck. They have stayed and worked late on weekends to make sure I could have my vehicle back in time to do my work.I recommend Southern Auto to anyone who wants an honest and dependable mechanic.

My son was on way home from Bloomington for spring break. Broke down just before 465. Had car towed back and dropped off before close on Friday. They had his car fixed by Sat afternoon. Great people to work with kept informed and very well priced. Found our new place for car service! Highly recommend!

Luckily I broke down right infront of the shop, the guys there helped push my car in after hours. They were able to fix it Garry and Jessica were awesome, super helpful and great priced.
