This is by far the best experience I have ever had with a mechanic. Ideal Auto is the perfect example of a local business that cares about their customers and have a genuine interest in assisting you - not just making a quick buck. Accessible, affordable, and professional. They saved my behind this winter! 10/10 would recommend.

Very glad that I went to this shop. The shop owner Mr. Khaseem made sure that every concern of me is listened and answered. He made sure to test drive the car and give honest opinions without upselling. The price is fair and reasonable. Would like to take my car here for the next service.

Very thorough mechanical services. Kaseem is very professional and will only recommend repairs that are necessary. His prices are also very reasonable. I went in to service one car but ended up buying a second car from his garage because it was competitively priced. Pleasant service throughout. You will not meet such a person at the professional or humanitarian level. Flexibility in dealing and honesty do not find it easily these days. I recommend dealing with him. You'll be satisfied at the end.

I recently purchased a Hyundai Elantra from Ideal Auto and am very pleased. I was treated with respect and given a fair price. There was a minor issue with the car that I would not have detected in my test drive and would have been completely unaware of had he not told me of the issue. Not only was he honest and upfront about the issue he even offered to do the service work once the part came in at no charge for the part or labor. Within days I received a text that the part was in. I brought my vehicle in and my car was fixed quickly. I highly recommend Ideal Auto for their quality vehicles, fair pricing and most of all the honesty and integrity of which he does business.

I recommend this mechanic and this business 100%. Not only is the mechanic an honest, reasonable, and diligent guy, based on some circumstances, he will also just go above and beyond. I wanted to start out this review by giving five stars. So, if you came for a quick review, there you have it. Kassem is a hard worker, you'll never pay more than the repair AND labor are worth, he will walk you through the process. He also gives good advice.If you want the back story keep reading.I am 35, I bought my first car from Kassem. I have been a lifelong public transit user because at the ages of 15 and 16 my mom was suffering through some hardcore financial abuse with my father. He refused to help me buy a car, and she could not afford one OR risk me wrecking the one form of transportation we had.I made it work. I am a writer, and while stable, I have only recently come into the capital I needed to invest in transportation.My partner gets their car fixed by Kassem regularly. He has ALWAYS spoken highly of Kassem; I even know of times Kassem came out on Saturdays and Sundays to check on my partner's car in an emergency. But when Kassem told my partner that he had a Hyundai Sonata for sale, my partner told me. My partner helped me practice driving and let me practice in his car; I got my license and I was ready to buy.Kassem provided photos, videos, videos of him driving (he was not holding the camera while he was driving). Kassem held the car FOR A MONTH for me because I was traveling for work. He was willing to drive the car to where I was at for the summer (for an additional fee, but I don't know any mechanics who would do that even for a fee). When my partner and I came down to Kassem's garage, there it was, the car looks practically brand new. Kassem was adamant "Go drive it around for like 30 minutes or an hour to make sure it is okay for you." When the air conditioner seemed to not be working (It was 100 degrees that day), Kassem was willing to check into it, but it started working just fine. Kassem handles all of the dealership paperwork, he even came with me and my partner TO THE DMV to make sure all of the paperwork was solid. I knew NOTHING about purchasing a vehicle, but this patient man walked me through.I am not saying that this should be expected for your regular check-up or oil change or flat tire or anything like that, but Kassem's dedication to making people feel safe and like they can trust their vehicles and him is unmatched (and this is coming from someone who can pass down horror stories about mechanics that I inherited from my mother). Kassem is about good, honest, supportive business. And I will take my car back to him and only take it somewhere else if he is suggesting it. Great and very knowledgeable auto mechanic. He's helped me out more than I could ever hope for. First came by looking for a ford fusion. He was busy with customers so I was going to come back the next day. Came back and it was sold, so he searched for the same car, found one, and did all the repairs for me too.He has unbeatable prices and is very trustworthy. If you're looking for a car or need fixes, go to his shop. He will do all mechanic work for less than half of a standard mechanic.He's gone out of his way to help me with my other car too. I can't say enough about Kaseem. Trust me, he's the best you will find

Kaseem went above and beyond to have my car fixed by the time I had the be back at work. He worked outside his regular hours on a Saturday, charged way less than any other mechanic, and was honest about what needed fixed and what did not. My car runs great now. Won't take my vehicle to get fixed anywhere else.

Kasem of Ideal Auto is THE most accommodating car technician/shop owner ever. I needed a front brake pad and rotor replacement. After shopping around and reading other positive reviews for Ideal Auto, I contacted Kasem. He responded via email, text, and phone, flexed his schedule to one that worked for me, described and demonstrated the repair to my understanding, and agreed to my choice of parts - all for an unmatched charge for labor. The work done was top notch. Kasem is personable, professional, and 100% chill! For auto repair it is definitely worth your time to find Ideal Auto, a gem tucked behind the pawn shop on 46E in Ellettsville.

I will recommend everyone to take their vehicles to this garage for repairs. You get excellent service, honesty, great work, reasonable charges and very personable mechanic. I heard of Ideal auto sales through a friend and I m so glad I did, I will not be taking my vehicle to any other garage. Thank you so much Kasem.

We recently bought a Toyota Corolla. Good quality and great professionalism answered every question to the best of his abilities and was very patient with us. Will definitely consider Ideal Auto the next time I am looking for a car

Totally NOT recommend this so-called car dealer. The boss sold us a car with the honeycomb structure of the catalytic converter removed. However, he even claimed that the catalytic converter was just replaced. He pointed the removed heat shield on the ground and told us, "see, that is the replaced old converter". And he used an estimated price from another car shop (not paid, of course) to pretend that this was the receipt of the replaced converter. In simple words, he sold us a car with nothing in the catalytic converter and no heat shield installed outside the converter. We noticed the rattling sound from the converter when the RPM is around 2000 and he said "oh this is normal. The brand new converter always has a sound". We checked everything until we found out the so-called receipt was only an estimated price but the converter was never actually replaced. We went to that car shop and they would be our witness. They gave us a written testimony and a recording about what happened (How the boss of Ideal Auto used a hammer to remove the honeycomb structure). We finally found another car shop to re-install a factory catalytic converter for over $1200 to fix the problem. We also contacted the IU law school and they could offer legal aid to us to sue this dishonest dealer.

Kasem is a respected and honest mechanic. More than once I brought my car for a different problem, and he fixed it at a fair price. I highly recommend this place.

He sold me a car and said NOTHING was wrong with it. One month later had to have brakes done, two weeks after that had to have the rotation cuz the problem wasn't fixed the first time, a week later check engine light came on, two weeks later had to have new o2 sensor put on, now the car sputter when taking off (emissions systems canister). Now the air has quit working in it. All that in the matter of six months of having the car...when NOTHING was wrong with it!!! I've spent more money fixing this car than it cost to buy it!! Would not recommend this guy

Unlike other money pits, this place listens to customers and provides friendly customer service. I have got a used car and have some issues so I brought the car to this place. The owner and team are knowledgeable and can provide affordable repair solutions. I highly recommend this place!
