Don't waste your time or money with one of these transmissions. Bought an NV4500 that failed in the first few months. Paid to ship it back and Trans Gear did warranty it after having it in Indiana for over 3 months claiming parts to rebuild were not available, only to have it fail again breaking teeth on fifth gear. Total junk, built with miss matched sycncros and parts.

I purchased a transmission from this company, the transmission works awesome! Took a little longer than it should have for the core charge refund but all was taken care of.

Owner is slightly standoffish when you first walk in but very friendly once introduced he asks pertinent questions to get to the root of the problem that brings you to his shop. His prices are slightly cheaper than what other transmission shops may charge for labor and parts. He doesn't stick you with unnecessary repairs and he didnt waste any time fixing my transmission. He had it fixed more quickly than other shops I've used and now that I've found him it is well worth the two hour drive I have to make to get to his shop. I recommend this place to everyone looking for top of the line work on a blue color or poor budget. Top notch with not one complaint.

BEWARE!!!I m normally reluctant on leaving bad reviews, and I give people the benefit of doubt, but these guys went above and beyond to earn this review.First transmission the sold me I had installed by a professional repair shop. The truck couldn t even get out of the parking lot, wouldn t stay in second gear.Called them, they tried to blame the repair shop, then agreed to take the transmission back to repair, and promised me they will have it back to me in 4 days. Two and a half weeks later they send me another unit with missing parts. Took them another week to send the remaining parts after promising me they will overnight it. The second unit just got installed and grinds when shifting into third gear, and the rest of the gears grind when shifting at 4K RPM. Another non functional transmission. I m out $4,700, 2 months with out a car and still no working transmission. Guess I need to spend more money and take my transmission to people who actually know what they are doing. No thanks to Roger who doesn t care about your time without a vehicle, or his product quality.Do not go to these people, take your business to a real transmission shopService: Transmission

I think it s important to take a moment to leave a review for everyone at Trans Gear Performance. Roger was extremely professional and they did an awesome job taking care of me and making sure that everything was right on the transmission for my 25 year old pick up truck. Highly recommended. I drove all the way from Cincinnati to buy a rebuilt transmission from these guys and they delivered on every level. We hit a little snag along the way and Roger bent over backwards to make sure that everything was perfect.Service: Transmission

Purchased a ZF6 (SF6-650) that sits in a 2000 F250 7.3L 4x4 lifted with about 550hp. Was informed when I called that they did not have any on hand at the moment, but would get one and it would take them approximately two weeks to get it built and shipped. Cost was on par with what I had seen other places. Transmission was shipped on time and arrived about a week later; I'm in Northern Arizona. Transmission looked great, new coat of gray paint on it and was exactly what I needed. I've had in in for about two months now and put about 3,500 miles on it with zero issues. Some light towing was done after a break in and again no issues. Holds tight in every gear. Return shipping was easy. They coordinated everything with the shipper. All I had to do was get it on the pallet. Also, great customer service anytime I had a need to call them which is greatly appreciated when dealing with a company in a different time zone a thousand miles away.Service: Transmission

I know the reviews are a bit sketchy for Trans Gear but keep this in mind. They do hundreds of transmissions and T-cases a month. The only thing Trans Gear is guilty of is not being proactive in encouraging those of us who have gotten great service and an awesome product to leave reviews. I am very happy with my decision and my mechanic was impressed enough to start using Trans Gear exclusively for their replacement transmission and T case vendor. Call Trans Gear and talk with them. They've been great to deal with.

Ordered a transmission from California. Good people. Answer the phone every time and answered all my questions. Transmission was rebuilt and my jeep runs better than ever now.

I bought brand new unit .990.00 plus 300.00 core. I had to pay labor for replacement and when guy got transfer case out .He went in to installing it and was wrong shaft. So this was on a friday and I needed my truck I had to pay another 125.00 to fix my original unit. So I went back to get refunded and only thing they would do was give me 300.00 core I'm out 990.00 an they well resale it and make another 990.00.i understand maybe a restocking fee but not brand new unit they can resale and me out 990.00.i gave them every detail of my truck and still wrong .they sell on ebay and I wasn't aloud to pay for it on there I had to through PayPal which is fine. But they were selling numerous items of the same .they said they dont give refunds on special built. My point I have been in auto diesel field for over 30 years and never had experience like this. I have ran my own business up to multi billion dollar business.

Would not deal with this vendor. Sent me a Zf6 that would jump out of overdrive right after installation, and took almost 4 months to get a replacement for it. Had a professional shop install both transmissions and Trans Gear refused to pay for the labor of replacing their mistake. Sent two letters in the mail, which received no response. Proceeded to call them to request compensation for the labor for their mistake and was hung up on. Buyers Beware!!!

Do not waste your time. Bought a NV4500 and less than 5000 miles later 5th gear broke. I called them up and they acted very unintelligent and wouldnt warranty it. Took it apart myself and found out they were using cheap china gears. If i could rate 0 stars i would.
