These guys at L&J Auto are the most reliable and timely mechanics I ve ever worked with. I couldn t recommend them enough, especially with virtually ever other mechanic in the area I ve encountered willing to screw you over to bleed your wallet. Even when they know that I would be willing to give them more money to fix a problem, they stay honest and provide me only with what I NEED. Truly awesome guys and top tier mechanics, I wish all of my friends lived within driving distance of them!Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto maintenance

Excellent service and turn-around time. These guys did everything I asked for, and a little extra to help ensure my car stays in great shape. With a 10 year old car creeping up on 150k miles, this attention to detail is greatly appreciated.Update: October 2023 - Four years later and Mark at L&J is still the auto shop I trust the most for the maintenance work I need. Mark and his team have always explained everything to me clearly, and honestly, and I can t recommend them enough!

Can I give these guys more than five stars? Mark and company have been my go-to car people for more years than I can remember. They *always* go above and beyond in every sense of the word: honest, thorough, reasonably priced, informative. And that's just the "car" side. They're also helpful, patient and thoughtful to this unskilled "help!-fix-my-car" customer. Outstanding service and communication. Anytime we've had issues they've been transparent about their shop capabilities, cost and time frame. Would certainly recommend L & J to anyone with car issues.

My car mysteriously to me stopped turning on and was a battery issue. I called them and they were able to tow my car in 20 minutes and 10 minutes later called and said fixed! easy fix amazing service and not pricey! overall please with my first experience here and will come to check out again in the near future!

After my check engine light came on just a week after having it in for service elsewhere, I asked my son-in-law for a recommendation for an honest mechanic. He didn t even hesitate and said L & J Auto Repair.Owner Mark Kroeger was very nice and very accommodating even though one of his mechanics was out for jury duty. He could ve done a ton of work that it would ve needed but told me a few reasons why I should probably not put any more money into it & broke down what I really needed until I could purchase another car. He even showed me how to check the fluid since the temperature gage didn t alert me to a potential issue. I found my new mechanics!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

They are always so friendly and accommodating at L & J Auto. I've brought my car to them several times, and plan to keep doing so. Reasonable prices and honest workers - hard to find these days. Today, they fixed my heat, the hose to the windshield wiper fluid, and the motor in the back passenger window as the window was not opening. The car was ready early afternoon. Even the workers at Enterprise were surprised that I got my car back so fast - same day service.

There is absolutely nobody else I would let work on my vehicle. The repairs made here are reliable and reasonably priced. Mark and his crew are very diligent with repairs and have given my car new life. Thank you endlessly for saving my Ethel time and time again!!

Mark is honest, knowledgeable, and very competent. I needed a muffler and he was able to patch mine + other work and save me $100. I strongly recommend using them. You'll know you got great service+ a great price.

This is the next place you should go to while looking for a professional and honest mechanic. Mark is honest right from the beginning, I feel the price(s) were the best around and I had been to other mechanics and found he is the most reliable, honest and keeps it simple for the customer. I really appreciate all of the help Mark. I highly recommend Mark and his team for all of your automotive needs!

These guys are really great at what they do. I came in with my AC not getting down to a cool temp as summer was starting and they found my AC core was busted and cracked. It had leaked all the fluid out awhile ago and was just not doing anything. They replaced the whole shebang within a day and charged me $1,300 total for the work and part. This was a hard pill to swallow, but I doubt I would have gotten a better price anywhere else. They had the whole thing done for me in a day, so I was pretty darn happy with that service. The guys did leave a lot of dirt/oil on my seats and didn't bother cleaning any of that off and they also peeled back a bit of the interior panels from using their pry-tools, so it's pretty obvious the dash panels have been taken off due to that peeling, but I suppose it's fine. I'm taking off a star for the mess they left, but the service was great and I was happy with the price.Service: A/C installation & repair

Before taking my car on a long road trip, I had L&J do a thorough inspection. And man did they! In fact, the mechanic Jimmy spent almost 2 hours with me going over all mechanical and electronic components, top to bottom. Because the inspection was so thorough, he found a couple of minor things that were easily fixed which could have otherwise lead to a huge expense down the road. Honest and trustworthy. After all, that's what everyone wants in a mechanic.

I had to have my thermostat replaced. They were very friendly, and the cost was WAY less than I thought it would be. Will be bringing my car here from now on!!

We've used L&J for many years. Mark is always patient and will listen as you describe a problem, and they are conscientious in finding and fixing things. They are also trustworthy, more than once I've had a noise or some undiagnosed issue, taken the car in, and it was only a few dollar fix. I trust them with my cars.

I have dealt with l&j Auto for many years they are top-notch in their craft very thorough in whatever job they work on. It's run by two brothers one of which I doubt with prior to his retirement that was George and now I'm dealing with Mark and I can't praise them enough so anyone looking for car repair go see L and J Auto in downtown westmont on Cass avenue. Thanks

These guys helped me out in a bind. Inspected my vehicle twice and physically showed me what was wrong. Don't think I've ever trusted a shop so quickly. I even called them before to ask about transmission work and they recommended me to another shop that saved me almost $2k compared to what my old shop was trying to charge for the work they wanted to do.

I called last minute on a Monday after my car was giving me some problems over the weekend and they were immediately super helpful. They got me in the same week I called and looked over my entire car. As a college student, any car trouble is big trouble but they helped out a ton. I will defiantly be back if anything goes awry in the future!
