We had our 2016 VW Golf in to find a coolant leak, follow up on repair of the rear brakes, do an oil change and perform general inspection and servicing. In a day and a half all of the work was done and for a reasonable price.DuPage Auto Werks is our go-to service shop for our Volkswagen car maintenance. I am confident in their knowledge and skills.

I ve been going to Dwayne and his crew for 10 years. I will never bring my VW anywhere else. They always do a great job. They diagnose the issues correctly every time, communicate well during the process, and provide a loaner car for free. No other shop will provide this level of service.

As a 30 year customer, I highly recommend this shop. While I do much of the routine service on my vehicles, I have relied on DAW for brake, clutch, suspension, and exhaust system work on several cars (VW, Hyundai, Mazda). They have also been very willing to share their knowledge and experience with me which is of great help with my own service work.

Fair prices and great honest repair updates. Even provided a loaner car while repairs completed. This place is notiing but a big rip off . They charge more than double all other places.Then double talk you like they are giving you the deal of your life, your lucky your there . I called other place about the same problem and when I told them what I was quoted and previously paid for work done there they laughed and thought I was kidding. .If yours smart you"ll shop arounds you will see for youself exactly how they work.I'm sure they will have some answer saying none of this is true in defense of themself. All I say is shop around see for yourself , you'll see what I'm talking about.I don't like to write negetive reviews and never usually do but this place is ripping people off.

Dwayne and his team took care of my vehicle by providing only the necessary service items required. They additionally took care of a temporary loaner vehicle for me to use while my car was being serviced.They are extremely knowledgeable and experts in all things cars and from my experience, throughly versed in German automobile manufacturers.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle safety inspection

If you ve been ripped off by one of the VW, Mercedes or BMW dealership service departments in the Chicago suburbs recently you know the sting of owning a German/import car in the Midwest. DuPage Auto Werks know their stuff and provide honest work and fair pricing. No, you won t get a shiny brand new loaner Jetta like at dealers, but they will make sure you have wheels and the work will be done FAST for 1/2 to 2/3 of the price. They don t recommend unnecessary work and they walk you through everything being done. Great shop that does honest work. I also appreciate Dwayne who takes time to talk and explain everything while answering any questions I may have. That goes a long way with me. I'm not writing this review as a robot or a friend of the owner just to get positive ratings. I also never write reviews. These guys earned it. I had MAJOR repairs done July 2022. I had a 2012 VW jetta diesel and the engine ran away on me. That's mechanic talk that means big problems. My engine utilized its own oil as a fuel source which increased its power output times 1000 until it destroyed itself and all respective parts that collaborate with the engine directly(ie clutch and turbo). Basically I needed my engine replaced entirely, along with my turbo and my clutch. Very big job. I decide to go through with the repair only because it's Dupage Auto Werks. I would've scrapped the car otherwise. But reputable people I know as well as the car community have vouched for them. With this economy and the insane markup price of cars, I decided to fix this and avoid having a car payment. Car runs great, idles smooth, and is responsive. On top of it i had my diesel particulate filter removed and cleaned. My mpg average is back to 45mpg. Everything runs great. My late father owned a competing auto shop, and Dupage Auto Werks is the shop he recommended our family use when he retired. My extended family in the Chicago burbs all go to Dupage Auto Werks for good reason. They are highly competent, fair and fast. Most recently I brought my toyota van in with a gauge issue, the problem was fixed for under $100($82) and done within 3 hours. Every time I have brought a car to them it is done quickly, reasonably priced and high quality parts are used. I live in a rural part of another state now and I wish I could go to Dupage Auto Werks for all of the repairs my vehicle needs. If I lived nearby dupage auto werks I probably wouldn't do any of my own repairs.Services: Electrical repair, Auto maintenance, Auto brake replacement

I've used them for over a decade. With any diagnosis and major repair I would trust them thoroughly. For routine service though, I see less value as they have set prices similar to a dealer but don't provide the detailed inspection reports like a 21 point inspection and miss out on small items like changing wiper blades. I just did a service and then had to rush into a shop close to home to get order wiper blades in the middle of a rain shower.Overall I'll still give them 4 stars as a blended rating.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Oil change

Definitely and by far Dupage Auto Werks ranks the highest marks when compared to VW dealers based on my own experience when it comes to VW service. Dupage Auto Werks has:1- Better expertise than VW dealer and they fixed the transmission on my GTI at a cost of $1400 compared to estimate of over $11,000 from VW dealer for replacing the whole transmission.2- Better price. Unlike VW dealers who only fix one thing at a time to keep having you coming back for repairs, Dupage Auto Werks inspect the whole car and fix multiple problems at the same and hence saving you money on parts and labor.3- Better customer service. A loaner car is always ready for me so I don't have to waste my whole day in the waiting area.4- Reliable and guaranteed repair. All repairs are guaranteed for 12 months or 12000 miles. You don't get that anywhere these days, not even dealers.For all above reasons, I never went back to VW dealers even since I started going to Dupage Auto Werks and never will.ThanksAJ

Once again, I returned to DuPage Auto Werks to tune up my ML 550 last month and this month, August 2023, my SL 550. In addition to just plugs, he recommended changing the old spark plug coils. The results is absolutely outstanding excelleration ! I trust Dwayne,owner, and his mechanics. They are very competent and offer fair pricing. Take my Mercedes to the dealership; you can't be serious! For my money and satisfaction, it continues to be DuPage Auto Werks. I am a real customer with "Real Talk"! By far, this is the best place in workmanship, customer service, and price when it comes to VW service in Chicago area. I took my GTI to Dupage Auto Werks to get the transmission fixed after getting estimates anywhere from $5k to $11k from various VW dealers. Dupage Auto Werks was able to fix my transmission for around $1400.Since then I have been taking my VW car there for all the service work that I needed. The owner, Dwayne, is a very honest person and always looking out for getting you the best price.I highly recommend this shop for VW service and I am never going back to VW dealers for service.

Dwayne has a rare blend of encyclopedic knowledge combined with striking integrity. He listens intently to my concerns, offers accurate diagnostics, presents me with options, and delivers the most exceptional and economical work in the industry. And every one of his staff has always upheld that same level of excellence. In over 33 years, I have not even once entertained the idea of bringing my family s vehicles to any other repair shop. This is not just a review of my most recent date of service, but of hundreds of transactions over three decades. If you have high standards and are looking for the best possible care for your vehicle, you need to familiarize yourself with DuPage Auto Werks.

Great people with high integrity, combined with expertise and high quality work! Dwayne, the owner sets the bar for high quality customer service and for professional service. If you have a unique situation prior to having your vehicle serviced or any concerns after the fact, make sure you speak with Dwayne. All of my vehicles from my 92 Mercedes, 98 Toyota, and 2005 VW have been serviced by Dwayne and team for 10+ years and I've been very highly satisfied (and I have very high expectations! ). A much better value and experience than the dealer!

I had some work done to my car and there was some confusion on the work that was performed. When it came time for the bill it was more then what I expected.after talking with the owner we came to the conclusion that there was a misunderstanding. We agreed on a fair price. I had to have my 2002 Toyota Solara towed to this shop yesterday, and I had one of the best auto repair experiences ever with them. Mr. Shilling (the Owner) treated me with unbelievable kindness and generosity. The work was done fast, and at a highly professional level. I went out of my way to have the repair done there (16 miles one-way from my house,) and I'm glad I did. They provided a free loaner car, and did the job in less than 24 hours. Their labor rates are very reasonable. This is a great alternative to the inflated service/repair prices you get at dealerships. If you have a foreign make of car (or a domestic one for that matter,) I highly recommend this shop. Thanks Mark Graber and Dwayne for everything.

I have driven manual for decades and have never burned the clutch. Clutches should last more than 24K miles even aftermarket - son replaced it along with the flywheel and she drove like a Swiss watch for more than 75K miles until a hit and run totalled her. I do not wish to place blame the technician as my son is one too and they work like dogs - I am not sure what happened and things happen, I just can not afford to repeat the process. By the way, the aftermarket part was the same as we brought in to the shop and performed quite differently.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I have been impressed for 20 years with the work they do on my cars. Our German and Japanese imports keep going thanks to Dwayne, Kevin, Rich, Mark, and the guys there. Honest, specialists, trustworthy, and fair. Makes me want to hit 200K with our cars just because they still look and drive great!

I've been trusting the staff here with my VW TDI for years. Dwayne is honest about what work needs to be done now and what can wait for a bit. They have kept my car in good shape for well over 100K miles and even stored my off season tires when I didn't have a garage. Nice guys all around.

The few times that we have used this shop, the bills were always more than the priced quotes. Often by several hundred dollars. They repaired our air-conditioning unit twice. For nearly $2000 and two trips in. we were then told that it was always going to leak, because of how it was hanging improperly in the engine bay. The communication was also very poor quality. Several times it took multiple weeks for them to 'get back to us'. Not notifying when parts were in, when they needed a response to continue work, or that a vehicle was finished. Overall, would not feel comfortable bringing a vehicle to them in the future.
