Had a great experience with Northern Auto. They have a great staff and great customer service. The past two days they assisted me with putting air in my tires and said that I probably had a slow leak. I brought it in this and that's what it was. Jay explained everything to me thoroughly and got me and my tire taken care of right away.

Jeff is very professional friendly and also trustworthy and prices are reasonable would recommend him to family and friends been taking my car (traded in my other car for another because my transmission was going out.. Jeff also did work on that one as well) and with the new car Jeff is always there to assist and explain everything to me so I can understand will continue to bring my car to Jeff for anything going wrong with my car.

Jeff and his staff at Northern Auto are very professional, friendly, knowledgeable respectful and efficient. I have been taking my vehicles to him for many years now and will continue to do so in the future. When repairs are needed he explains it to me in terms that I can understand. He is honest and his prices are very reasonable. Veterans are welcome. I recommend him to all my family and friends. He is very trustworthy and will help you in any way he can. I trust him and seek advice from him when needed. So nice to find an automotive place that isn't out to charge you ridiculous amounts and swindle you. Jeff was so very helpful and took care of us right away. We were stranded after driving from NJ and had run over a truck tire in busy traffic when some things got disconnected underneath the car and it was making rattling noises. Jeff made sure everything was connected and in working condition so we can make the trip back. Another woman there also gave high praises about this garage. We were so thankful for this place and Jeff. Great service!! Thank you!!

The only place we take our cars. They have worked on my whole families cars for years! Jeff always provides excellent service and always gives you the quote before moving forward with anything. Always a great recommendation!

Jeff is honest and professional. I had brake issues and Jeff changed the master cylinder on my chevy impala. 9 months later the master cylinder failed and Jeff again replaced it at zero cost no inspection fees or labor or parts. Honest Guy.Thanks Jeff for the service.

Work Done Proper You know how it is when you're reluctant to take your vehicle(or spaceship) to a malignant mechanic who's always trying to get over on you or steal parts from your mode of transportation? Yeah, this place is completely opposite of that. My lower control arm broke while backing in to my spaceport. I decided to replace the whole front end (inner&outer tie rods, lower control arms with sway bar links) and realign. Having my own parts, just not the proper resources, I was referred here by my human friend. I made few calls around Waukegan before ultimately deciding on Northern Automotive. After speaking with Jeff about my issue, he quoted me $300-$400 LESS than the other shops around with even lower ratings. Another thing I noticed with other shops that I was calling in Waukegan; was the fact that everybody was condescending. I've had shops tell me that I didn't even know my own parts, let alone try to upsell for putting air in your tires. On the day that I had my spaceship delivered, he was very sincere and actually interested in his work. POW-MIA posters and flags hang in the pretty clean office. They seemed like happy mechanics; a happy mechanic is always better than a disgruntled one. At least with my repairs everything went smooth, I even ended up paying a little bit less than what I was quoted at somehow, I guess just how easy it was to work on my ship. He had my whole front end redone and aligned in about 6 hours. Mind you, I asked him to take his time. This crew knows exactly what they are doing. My spaceship now feels as if it is brand new. Any other work that I cannot do; I will be taking my ship back to this place. I would definitely recommend anybody who reads this review to take their car to this place. The work is professional, all of my parts are on my vehicle and everything is legit. These guys need a bigger shop so they can move around a little more freely is my only complaint.

All my vehicles are serviced by Northern Automotive. They are courteousand friendly. They take the time to listen to what you have to say. If you take your vehicle in for an evaluation of a problem they will not start any work without your approval first. That is a plus for me.Services: Tires, Oil changeServices: Tires, Oil change

I recently moved to the area and did not have a mechanic yet. A few lights went on in my car and I needed to find someone ASAP. Luckily, I was referred here by some coworkers who all bring their vehicles to Northern Automotive. I called in the morning and got in right away and before he started any work he called me describing the problem and told me the price. That way I was able to decide if I wanted to continue with the services or not (which I did). My vehicle was available later that same day and has been running great. They even did some inspections (that I didn't mention) completely free of charge. The feeling of leaving a mechanic knowing your car is in great condition and cared for is a huge relief. I would highly recommend them and plan on coming here for all of my future car needs.

Great customer service. The only mechanic I have used in the last ten years. They are always able to fix any issues I'm having with my car. I recommend to anyone looking for a new mechanic...5 stars!!!!

Excellent serviceKnowledgeable.Prior claims about 'mechanic ' skills are puzzling??I have been frequenting Jeff at Northern thru different cars since 2002.He also does approved warranty work at much less cost than at dealersI you need an opinion Jeff will always tell you the problem, even if you go elsewhere.Good at networking also with other auto mechanics, and parts dealers.Their prior location on Sunset was much easier to get to.Now on Green bay rd which can be busy.RK

Best mechanic in Waukegan. Jeff is honest, fair, and knowledgeable and an all around good guy. Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Do. Not. go here if you want an honest mechanic. They take advantage of people that aren't knowledgeable about cars and their mechanics are students.
