Harry is the MAN!! the work they did was A1. I will recommend Aamco the price ,the care they put in my car and service was excellent and I appreciate it thank you.. I will recommend them for any repairs. Rebuilt transmission is running like a champ .

I had an issue with my clutch, It's December and as many can imagine how tight this month is. The Manager Harry is an Angel, he noticed my frustration and took the time to explain to me the process and provided me financing options, and I was able to get my Kia up and running in no time. I had a great time dealing with Harry, he is professional and has a great sense of humor. If you take the time out for him to work on your car I know you would be in good hands. The price he charged me for my engine rebuilt was a great price. I have been at other auto mechanics and it seemed like I was always coming back for more problems that were not detected at the initial appointment. My Motor went out and I had to go through my Warranty company and Aamco was one of the places for me to get the engine done (a couple weeks ago). Harry was very accommodating and very helpful and was an advocate for me with the warranty company as we know how Warranty companies can be. I have had several repairs done to my car. The driver side window motor, tune up and today they repaired an antifreeze leak. These gentlemen are professionals and honest. I am always treated with respect. Their prices are fair. I never feel like I'm being taken advantage of. Great quality service. This guy and his staff are absolutely wonderful. He works with you to make sure your car or truck gets fixed rite. At a price you can afford. He's one of the best in town. All the work I had done is is backed for a year and should last the life of the truck. I will definitely bring my truck back again. They are clean, friendly, honest and provide a fast service. l always support my local small business. Come bring your car and get it fixed. If I could give this company 0 stars I would, BEWARE because these guys will LITERALLY TRY TO STEAL YOUR CAR, the Grey Volkswagen sitting in their lot was previously owned by me. Which the OWNER of the company now so pridefully drives. I simply brought my vehicle for inspection regarding the transmission and they took it upon themselves to drop the transmission without asking me first and then called me to confirm that the transmission is no good. So they then told me I had to pay for the repair and the labor that it took for them to drop the transmission which I never gave them permission to do so. They proceeded to threaten me to hand over the title or pay for the repair which the repair cost more then the car itself. They definitely knew what they were trying to do, these guys are a bunch of scammers and unprofessional. Please don t take your car to these dishonest people!Service: Transmission

This was my first time at this shop and Harry treated me like I was one of his favorite customer when we just met. This place has many good reviews and that is why I came here. By the way they also do great work. Stop thinking about bringing your car here and just do it. Harry and his guys will be happy to take care of any problem with your car. Harry was awesome. Never had a mechanic actually talk me through a decision making process and what he would do. This ultimately led to me NOT spending close to $300. He didn't try to sell me on anything. He put in over an hour looking in to what I told him was wrong and still didn't charge me anything. Great and honest place.

I highly recommend anyone who has or needs anything wrong with there Transmission to go see Harry. he's one of the most honest mechanics out there. I had my car towed there and he gave me a honest diagnosis that most people don't want to hear. meanwhile I was stubborn and decided to shop around looking for any other Way to fix the problem!!! He never onced called me and said that I would have a storage fee or even trying to sell me on promise's that he could do for me. He was straight up honest with me and told me that he would work with me on anything that he could to help me get my car back on the road... And talk about fast. Not even a week later she was all ready for pick up. With the lowest price around. Shout out to Harry at AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS THANK YOU TOO YOU AND YOUR TEAM...

Harry really is the man with the plan. He was very attentive and informative about how his shop runs. He also handled the phone call with my company. I went for my government vehicle last time, but I'll definitely be taking my personal vehicle here next time I need any work done.

Well , at times Harry was a little pushy. But it was all to keep me focused not to lose sight of getting my car repaired and out of the shop! On the other hand, my car did sit longer than projected ! No extra charge ! Harry is really a professional person! Especially when it comes to business! The car is currently having a new motor installed. So we will see soon how the work went. im 99.9 percent they did a great job ! Im a tough critic . Over all , job very well done !!!!Service: Transmission

JUST ANOTHER SCAMMER BEWARE!!Charged me $460 to replace a simple nissan mass air flow sensor when the national avg nissan dealer is $280-$340! Of which charged $167 in labor, national avg $28-$35!! When the part failed not even three months later would not stand behind it! When I showed him my research and asked him why he charged me almost $170 for a five minute job?! he got angry and basically threatened me! When he knew he was caught got very defensive! I lost my job due to covid-19 and I was broken in every way possible when my car wouldn't move because my transmission broke. I Called Aamco and the manager Harry took great care of me. He communicated with me every step of the way. He did all the hard work by reaching out to my warranty company and getting them to cover the cost of the fix. Out of close to 5k I only have to pay under 300 bucks because of Harry taking care of the stress of working with the warranty company. I will definitely be a repeat customer and will recommend to everyone i know.

Harry and his team have been incredibly patient and have worked with me and it's been a blessing. My engine gave out on me and I didn't think there was any point in fixing the car but Harry saw potential in the car and him & his crew are taking the steps needed to get my car running and in better condition. I recommend anyone in the surrounding Lake County area to give this place a chance if they are having car problems, great payment options as well!

Harry was a very nice person, he told me what was wrong and what to go about it as. Very professional and my car was ready in two days. If you want good, fast, and professional work then you should go to aamco, he is with the bbb and deserves to be since he helped me directly, told me what was wrong and fixed it and it only took two days. I was traveling from Georgia to Wisconsin and my truck stopped outside Waukegan. And I was told by the taxi driver that AAMCO was the best to check my truck. I called Mr. Harry at the shop and he had my truck towed and diagnosed the problem. Instead of paying $5000 at the ford dealership for parts alone. He got the same quality for a affordable price. The service was great! He called during the process and gave me updates. And showed me all options. Just picked my truck up and its runs like a champ! Thanks Harry and the AAMCO crew!

I visited AAMCO of Waukegan for an unknown issue with my transmission on Nov 9th. Within an day after speaking with Harry, he had identified my problem and worked out a few options with me. More than anything, I was most impressed with the down-to-earth nature of Harry and his friendly and straight-forward demeanor. I can honestly say after being to transmission places before, the ideology is typically that of a store not a repair shop, and the customer service rep attempts to sell rather than assist. Harry surprised me with his attitude and communication, my car was fix with in one day and for that I would return to that location in the future. (he is the best!)

Back in August 2019, I took my vehicle to a trusted family mechanic and I was disappointed with the end-results. I shopped around different areas of Waukegan, Gurnee and other surrounding towns for quotes on a transfer case repair. I looked at reviews too, and found myself trying AAMCO in Waukegan, IL. I was skeptical since I had already a bad experience with someone I trusted with my car. But a sales manager at AAMCO, Harry, helped me with understanding every detail of the necessary repairs including the control arm issue, that I was aware and needed to fix. The cost was much higher than I had anticipated and could only pay partial. After a few hours of Harry trying to get a loan to pay for the rest of the expense, I was able to take my car the same day it was ready. The service was completed on September 9, 2019. The reason I waited till today (November 27, 2019) to give my review, is to give feedback on how my car is running. It is going great thus far. Even though my experience was a bit bumpy, Harry and his team gave great service and handled the repair request in a professional manner.
