Every time I've been here their staff is friendly and they are usually pretty quick depending on how busy they are. This is by far the best and only DMV I go to.

Great experience on Tuesday this week, Amy helped us register a car, there were 6 in front of us, we were in and out in 20 minutes, you guys rock thanks for the professionalizm

If I could give it 0 I would. Terrible service parents if you want to bring your first time driver licenses kids DON'T. Transcripts should work but one of the people working there kept saying I have to show proof that I passed despite me giving him my transcripts. That I needed a certificate. I wouldn't go here again.

I always see reviews & hear horror stories of many� over crowded, undermanned & bad attitude employees at other DMV locations.� At this location, foot traffic is mostly low, the staff is always pleasant, super helpful, efficient, knowledgeable & seem to love their jobs.� As with any government organization, arriving with proper & up-to-date identification & documentation for the transaction you require is key to receive timely & efficient service.� This DMV is always a pleasure to visit for those mandatory items required to live in today's society.

By far my favorite DMV. MO was a mess but here at this location they are fast, friendly, and good at their jobs. I enjoyed great conversation while getting my DL renewed. She explained everything to me with the changes and guidelines.I would definitely recommend this DMV to anyone who can chose this location.

Seeing all of these terrible reviews had me a little skeptical at first. These folks aren t rude, they have specific requirements as they are a State agency . They may be blunt when it comes to what they need but I heard all of the staff assisting multiple customers whether they had the cord documents or not. Great service and doing their jobs by the book.

This location is horrible. Several staff members are very rude. They seem like they like to fail young drivers for stupid reasons. Daughter failed driving test at this location. Took her to a different location the next morning and she passed with flying colors. They lied to us multiple times. The location she passed at said that almost everything they told us at the other location was false. Don't waist your time if you have a younger driver that has to take the driving test.

We had an overall great experience at this dmv. Had a lot of trouble with the Belleville dmv. Lady at door greeted us with kindness. And took very good care of my daughter and myself, with getting her DL. She had lots of patience and understanding. Wish there was more people out there like her.

Went to the Secretary of State's office in Waterloo today to renew my license and plates and take care of a registration issue from the purchase of a new vehicle. Everyone was working hard and efficiently. I interacted directly with 3 employees who were all friendly and helpful. The lines moved quick. Don't be deceived by the line around the building on the outside. They just don't let that many people inside at once. It all moved along pretty quickly. They have a separate line for just renewing a sticker, but in my opinion, it is easier to do that online or at a bank anyway.

July 9, 2022This morning I needed to register my car and get Illinois plates. We recently moved from Washington. My wait time was under 20 mins and service time was approximately 20. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly, helpful, and well informed. I ve been there a few other times and was not treated so kindly and staff was rude. However, thanks Robert! You re the best one behind the counter!

The only reason it s 3 stars is because I was in and out. However the lady behind the counter was terribly rude and I had everything I needed to renew my license. I watched her Throw a tantrum when someone entered the building because they didn t read the sign saying please wait for someone to come get you. Not only is the sign ridiculous but how is someone supposed to read that when there are over 20 stickers/signs on the front door saying all types of different things. Someone needs to drain that swamp

The gentleman working there was very nice, helpful, and completely accurate in his statements. However, the The manager was not helpful, she made false statements with regards to my needs, and would not allow me to process my transaction. After legal counsel, and going to an independent licensing agent, I had no problems processing my title work that the Waterloo manager told me I could not do.

Never had a pleasant experience here. To showed up at 8 when they open. 4 people out side waiting in line. One of the workers is outside chain smoking until 8:15. 2 other workers show up around 8:05. At 8:10 someone opens the door and says the next 4 can come in and I get number 11. There are only 2 people working at the counter. Shortly after 8:15 4 more employees come out of an office to get ready to start work. This place is not the best but it s the closest.

In 41 years of driving in the State of Illinois, this facility provided me the worst service ever in my history. They are ridiculous women with attitudes and I hope they all lose their jobs ASAP. Only "Robert" is competent, and I feel for him to have to work with a whole office full of Karens. The reviews are REAL and this facility sucks. The East St. Louis DMV is higher rated than this facility, and the reason the Waterloo DMV's review rating continues to drop is, because they are rude. They seem to enjoy looking for reasons to turn Illinois residents away, so they do not have to the work they are paid to do.

At the end of the month things get a little busy. Wife was renewing drivers license. Took over an hour.But she got it. Couldn't get my handicap placard, for some reason. Got to mail it in. We'll then I'm using an expired placard.. Ooooooh well.

This is the friendliest DMV I have ever been too. It isn t easy taking care of all of us after being closed for 3 months. Yes there is a wait time but it only took 2 hours to get in and maybe another 1/2 hour to get finished up inside, but I was lucky that the people I was standing in line with outside we so friendly, we had a good time chatting and it helped passed the time. There was a gentlemen that checked in the line and answered any and all questions. Then another employee came out and saw some elderly women standing in line and went and got them chairs! Going in I knew it was going to be a long wait, so my frame of mind was in the right place, but honestly the employees just made it even more bearable! Thank you Waterloo DMV!

I got here at 7:10am on 9/2/2020. I was 3rd in line. When they opened at 8 it took only about 30 minutes for me to get my real ID . The lady who helped me was really nice. She had black curly hair, don t know her name. Listening to the other lady employees help the other customers, they sounded really rude..as most DMV employees do. Bethany (I think she s the manager) seemed extremely rude. I was worried she was going to be the one helping me, thankfully she was not :-)They make separate lines for people getting stickers only, so if you re only there for a license plate sticker, they will separate the line when they open and you don t have to wait in line for hours just for a sticker.Altogether, I would suggest getting here at 7am & bring a lawn chair unless you want to stand for an hour!

I took my son to get his permit today. When our turn came the man helping us didn t think that he could give my son his permit based on the paperwork we had. He took our paperwork to his supervisor, she came out and said that we needed another document from the school but that she had already put a call into the school to talk to the driver s education teacher. I asked if we could go to breakfast and come back, she assured us that it was fine. We came back about an hour later and she informed us that she still had not received a call. I told her that was fine and that we would leave and come back another day. This wonderful woman ran out after my son and me to make sure that the next time we came back we had the correct paperwork so that we could get the permit. We went to Waterloo because they have always been nice and helpful, but today they went over and above. It was a great experience!!!

No one likes going to the DMV, myself included. This was my first trip to the Waterloo DMV, and it wasn't so bad. It was actually great for a DMV. There was a line, but a lady came out to make sure people had the things they needed for what they were doing, making the line move faster. The inside staff was nice and efficient.

Most of the recent reviews for this place are negative for a reason. It does not matter how polite you are with these people, they are extremely arrogant and rude no matter what. Especially Connie! They are also very discriminatory towards individuals. I've gone in not "having the proper documentation", just to get my license renewed and have been turned away several times. In the same week, Ive gone in with somebody else who was missing the same documents I was, and she had her license renewed no problem! I went in simply to see if they would allow her to do it. And they did. Discremenation! This is the rudest staff Waterloo DMV has ever had! Be prepared! They get one star because 0 stars is not an option.

BEST DMV experience I ve ever had! Greeted at the front door by a nice lady that put my name and phone number on a list and asked me to wait in the car until she called me to come in. Only had to wait 1 hour! LADonna assisted me with changing my address and 2 vehicle registrations which took no time at all! Everyone was very nice, especially LADonna!! Also, very impressed with how clean it was inside!!

All around worthless facility. Long wait time and rude. Especially if you start paperwork at one facility and go to theirs after getting signed. They just grovel and complain about what the other place did wrong. Simple title transfer with title correction turned into a fiasco. Went back to the original facility and was in and out no problem.

The perception of most DMV facilities is crowded, unhappy workers, and long waits. Not this place! The workers were friendly and helpful. They got me in and out in a very reasonable time. I very much appreciated that. They do EXCELLENT work at this place!!

Waited for nearly 2-hours for a drivers test only to be told at 2 minutes before 30 minutes of closing they did not have time to do a Real ID license and driver's test. IL should seriously look at the service these Secretary of State's provide to the citizens and seek to do better than this. Its a shame to take time off work get up early on Saturday only to stand around wait and leave without getting a license for my daughter.
