Robert and Joy were amazing with the car inspection done for a vehicle I was looking to my buy for my son. They gave some really good advice and steered us away from a potential disaster with their insight. Robert even went above and beyond to speak with the salesman to explain the issues he saw with the vehicle. They were awesome!

This shop is the best. The staff is very knowledgeable and courteous. Also, they are very honest and trustworthy. I've taken my vehicle to them a few times for a few different issues. They've always given a correct diagnosis and will not do unnecessary work just to take your money.

I needed an oxygen sensor replaced in my old mini van. It was far too difficult to reach on my own so I called A to Z, as they are a prominent local business that I ve been driving past for years. They booked an appointment for me to drop off my vehicle. They fixed the issue same day and did so at a very reasonable cost.The staff were excellent, they were friendly and professional throughout. Couldn t recommend them enough.

Update 10/13/22= I had to return to shop for additional work and as usual was given five star service and outstanding and reliable work. I have never ever had a bad experience here.This place is amazing! The whole business is always packed and for good reason. They have NEVER provided anything remotely close to bad service. Always fair priced, honest, and respectful. I give them ALL my business.As per usual, outstanding service! The only reason it's only 5 stars is google won't let me add more.

They do great work here, have been coming to them for years. Reliable, knowledgeable, and thorough. I feel like they know me and know what I'm looking for. The shop has a family feel to it. Joy, who works the front, is awesome. I d love to give a fair review of this place for the service. However I can t because the customer service didn t even let me get an opportunity.Customer service and communication is awful. Called about a week ago for an itemized quote to be emailed to me. I needed it in email form because my service is going to be paid for by a 3rd party company and they need proof of a quote. I explained my situation to them. Lady working the office stated that they are very busy and I will have to wait a day or two. No problem, I understand how busy these types of businesses get when understaffed. I even told her initially that it s okay.I wait until the following week. Send a call back, I was thinking maybe they had forgotten because of their busy days. It happens. Before I can even finish my introduction sentence on the phone I was cut off - I was told she hasnt forgotten and she has my info right there but shes busy and hasnt been able to send it. I explain to her that this is somewhat urgent for me and I ve been very patient but if she can t guarantee she can send the quote today or tomorrow I need to know so I can go get my vehicle serviced elsewhere. She told me in a nasty tone that she will have it. A few days later she still hasnt sent it.I gave a call to another local shop. Got my quote 5 mins after that call ended. For nearly $300 cheaper, and with great handling of business.I wouldn t and personally can t speak of the service here, its probably great. However the customer service portion of this business needs refreshment. That is not how you handle business.

I recently got a strut replacement from them after a minor accident. They are incredibly communicative and honest, and do good thorough work. I was called multiple times with updates on my car, along with all possible outcomes of the work they did. Overall, the issue was resolved perfectly. Highly recommend getting any issues fixed here.

They did a good job first time I brought a vehicle in to be worked on, scheduled a day, dropped off, fixed, happy camper.2nd time I tried to schedule an appointment on their website for an a/c recharge that I was willing to wait on(choice given on website), and some other vehicle issues to be scheduled also. Never heard back from them, stopped in to check it out, they saw the email but never replied back, said they were busy but told me to come in Monday at 8am to drop it off.Long story short, they had no idea when they would be able to get to it when I arrived Monday morning and it would be a long wait. Sometimes bigger is not the right choice, support smaller business to grow America when the big guy can't.I ended up going down the street to a smaller shop, no appointment, in and out in 30 min, and it wasn't jiffy lube.

I am so glad I found this amazing company. My mom recommended them to me after using them multiple times. I went there for the first time this week due to an issue with my bumper that needed immediate attention. When I pulled in, Robert assisted me right away and my bumper was fixed within 15 minutes. I was so incredibly impressed by the care and outstanding customer service we received. I was treated with kindness, respect and care. I would HIGHLY recommend Robert and his team to everyone, and I know for sure they will have my future business. Thank you A to Z Auto Repair!

This is the most amazing auto repair company! I was visiting my son from out of town, and was stranded with a damaged transmission. A to Z ran a diagnostic on my car & drove it the day I brought it to them. They helped me & gave professional advice. Robert in particular, was most generous with his time! He was back & forth on the phone with me several times & even called the dealership where I go for servicing at home! Who extends themselves like that to help people anymore?! Big blessing to have a trusted shop local to my home here in Villa Park. I have been routinely servicing 3 autos for many years. It seems to depend on which mechanic is working on the car. I've had some suspension and engine work done with good results but had to rebleed the brakes when they didn't get all the air out of the lines after a brake line was replaced. The last time I went to the shop they tried charging me upwards of $1000 for front struts and sway links even with my own parts. Too pricey and if I have to recheck the work they've done and don't bring a rusty car, they shy away from them big time.Services: Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, Engine repair, Brakes, Brake service & repair

Great company! I have been going to them for years and continue to go out of my way to use them. They are family owned and really good people. I would pay anything to be sure I m not getting ripped off. Joy up at the front is awesome to work with!This is the only mechanic shop I trust to give me a fair deal and be honest about repairs. As someone who doesn t understand much about cars, it s nerve wracking trying to find a business that won t take advantage of that. I recently recommended them to my boyfriend and they went above and beyond to fix his issue. They are the *only* mechanic I recommend to people and I can t overstate how great they are!!! Would give more than five stars if I could thank you!

HONESTY! Rob runs a great family run business. After many years of taking cars to mechanics I have found my go to. Just a solid operation all around. I send everyone to A to Z and all have been very pleased. Mostly what makes this place different is that everything gets checked and verified by an owner that cares about his customers and his shop and reputation. This review is way overdue IMO, as I have been going here for several years and have helped many by having experience and giving good recommendations. It's always nice to hear your friends were pleased and impressed with their professionalism too. FYI: I own several vehicles and have staff that fill my shoes and every experience is just as consistent as the last. I can't thank them enough and I highly recommend them!

A To Z is a great company to do business with. They let me know what I needed done. My latch hook on my hatchback needed to be replaced. Quoted me a price for the part, what the total would be and about how long it would take to finish the work. They even gave me options of times to bring it in to have the work done. I had the work done today and everything was exactly like they said. They worked with me from start to finish. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A TO Z AUTO REPAIR!! Will be using them for ALL my car needs!

My car needed a new battery and A to Z was in the area. I called A to Z and Rob told me he could take me, no problem. I found out later they were closing less than 15 minutes from when I called but they were still willing to help me out before they closed. They had my battery in stock and had the new battery installed in less than ten minutes.2020 update: Still an awesome and honest place. I feel lucky to have this family business available as my local go too. My wife and I have had our vehicles in their shop several times for issues with nothing but their honest and family owned treatment. Both of our vehicles are 115k+/155k+Most recently (July 2021), my 05' Sierra destroyed a front bearing and took out the front axle, brake assembly, etc along with it. As all other reviews have pointed out Rob and team are awesome and took me through the essential vs. non essential repairs for a more than reasonable cost while keeping me in the loop with estimates as the work progressed.As a side note, the tow truck driver that hauled my broken truck to A to Z from Glen Ellyn mentioned that he tows more cars to A to Z than any other repair shop because of (drivers words) "A to Z's honesty" that he hears from tow customers. Excellent job A to Z!!!

I had a wonderful experience with A-Z! They are honest and thorough. They make sure you understand the issues with your vehicle and find the most cost effective ways to solve them! I was given the run around by dealerships and large chain repair shops when what I needed was really very simple. Robert, the owner, was so kind to take a look under my car without an appointment. He showed me exactly what the issue was and I was up and running in under 30min. I'm so happy to have found a shop that I can take my vehicle to and trust!

Our new and forever auto repair shop. Dealership said gas tank rusted out...$1,800+ estimate, as well as another $6,000 for other work . Talked with the amazing Joy at A to Z. She was able to get car looked at...no rust on gas tank, it is PLASTIC, only needed fuel pump and 1 gas line. Repair will be right at $1,000, and the other items the dealership listed may be necessary at some point, but nothing urgent. And no where close to $6,000. Can't thank Joy enough!THIS REVIEW WAS INTENDED FOR THE AUTO REPAIR, NOT THE BODY REPAIR. I'm sure they are great, too, but yhese accolades are for the mechanical repair.

Rob and the whole team at A to Z are incredible. I moved to Chicago and as soon as I drove out here, I had an issue with my car. I went to Firestone and was told I needed to spend $4500 to replace my motor. Desperate and on the recommendation of a family friend, we decided to try A to Z for a second opinion. Rob and the technicians were amazing, incredibly thorough, and truly honest. They correctly diagnosed and fixed the issue, only costing 1/4th of what Firestone quoted.Two weeks later, another issue arose. Rob took the time to call the previous mechanic and figure out the warranty on the part that needed fixing to save me almost $300 because it was still under warranty. It was fixed quickly and confidently.Today, I went back just to double check that everything was okay. Rob took the time to show me and fully explain what I should and shouldn t be concerned about in the future. When I tried to apologize for wasting his time, he assured me there was no need because, as he said, This is what we do. They are very reasonably priced and are willing explain literally everything, from the root cause of the issue to the break down of the charges. The team was fully aware that I know nothing about cars and I never, ever felt condescended to in ANY way. Not once.I truly and wholeheartedly mean it when I say that A to Z has been a god sent since my move here. I live 90 minutes each way from the shop and will gladly drive that distance to get my car worked on by people I fully trust. I highly, highly, highly recommend them to everyone and anyone who needs any work done on their car.

Fantastic customer service and communication!Took my car in to have a general inspection for safety as we're expecting our first child this year. They troubleshot the vehicle, and gave me upfront pricing and a general to-do list for future repairs. They were frank with their assessments and stood by their pricing which was very competitive with other shops I checked.The customer service is what stood out the most. A to Z made sure to communicate any issues they came across, and called me multiple times to discuss and get approval for repairs they felt were needed while my car was in their hands. I was able to discuss my budget and work with what was needed versus what I could afford, and I left with a fixed car and new shop to take my car to and recommend to friends in need of service.Great job, guys. You made it easy on me.

A business's longevity is established through many venues - honesty, excellent customer service, and professional expertise. A to Z has that and more in spades. Given its third-generation family-owned, I have to wonder if qualities are coded into genetics somehow.There are 139 overwhelmingly positive reviews here on Google for A to Z; and another 80 or so on Yelp. Candidly, many people won't take the time to click on a finite number of stars, much less write a review, so the fact so many have done so speaks volumes. Take your car there, have no qualms - You'll get all the qualities mentioned in the first paragraph. If you have any doubts, read the reviews here.

I have gone to A to Z for years now. I find that Robert, the owner, and his entire team are consistently good with what they need to do with your car issues. I have never had a problem there. Theey are always pleasant and attentive and explain things easily. Tells you truthfully up front how much time he will need and what needs to be done. And if that were to change for any reason, he calls to notify you what he has found and what he thinks should be done before he precedes further. Prices are outstanding too if you compare. I always tell him I don't want to move anywhere now, unless I take my favorite mechanic with me. How many people can say that about their mechanics? Seriously, this place is very very good.A place that you can actually trust to do a good job. Make that outstanding. If there were six stars, I would give them that.

Dear Grandma,Mom and I are out of town. She told me you were scared and I understand. Mom said your car engine light is displaying, a liquid is leaking under your car, there is an odor and you're hearing strange noises when you drive.Grandma, I will not be able to return to Chicago until next week. However, I want you to call A to Z Auto Repair. I trust them.In the past, they have fixed similar problems with my vehicle and suggested maintenance care plans preparing the family for future auto expenses.Last year, a mechanic from "@#!�#@!" Auto 'fixed' my vehicle. Similar to your car, at a minimum, we heard strange noises during transit, noticed puddles on the ground after parking and were greeted with an unwelcomed engine light.Grandma, I must admit, when those things happened to my vehicle, I did not bless the mechanic...I only used 80% of the swear words that came to mind; please remember prayers of penitence on my behalf to the Good Lord :)When you call A to Z Auto Repair, expect to be greeted by a delightful service woman. She'll take your information and introduce you to several exceptionally astute auto repair professionals with patience and considerable discretion. Similar to myself, they will be patient with and provide a helpful diagnosis and solution.Love You Grandma ~I wish I knew about A to Z Auto Repair years ago. The shop endeavors to provide customers with great service and reliable solutions. Unlike competitors, the Owner and staff genuinely care about their customers and families.If you're preparing for a family road trip, don't hesitate to call them. Similar to my experience, they will check out your vehicle, provide an honest diagnosis and give a fair estimate (if applicable). A to Z Auto Repair is the only mechanic shop I would trust to service my Grandmother.

A great local shop recommended by my father-in-law. The place is family owned and operated and it shows in the best ways possible. They're willing to explain the issues and worth out solutions that make sense for your repair and aren't slyly trying to eek out a couple extra bucks for pointless things. I appreciated their honesty through my several repairs and the price was always right. Will continue to bring my car here so long as it keeps running (and especially even after it stops).
