The people there are wonderful !!! Mike was very knowledgeable and very helpful in helping find the problem. Mike quoted me a price and it matched what I paid he didn t try and add money to the bill or take advantage of an already sucky situation. Melody was so nice and helpful you won t find better people. I would definitely recommend them 10 out of 10 times.

They are some good people. I had a nissan murano that the transmission and transfer case was bad. And they were more than awesome to replace it for me. These people are great to do business with. Trustworthy. 100 percent.

While traveling back from Florida, I experienced car trouble and found myself stranded in Mt. Vernon. It was close to 5 pm, and I didn't expect to find anyone who could help me.However, I called M&M Transmission, and they were willing to take a look at my car the next morning when they opened. One of the owners, Melody, even gave me a ride back to my hotel. The next day, they called me immediately after opening to explain the problem and offer options to fix it. Within an hour of speaking to them, my Jeep was fixed, and Melody once again gave me a ride.I expected the bill to be over $500, but when they showed me the work they did, my jaw hit the floor. They only charged me $40 for the ride and the repair. I was impressed with their honesty and integrity, especially since I was a traveler and not a regular customer.I can confidently say that M&M Transmission is the friendliest, kindest, and most honest business I have ever encountered. They understand the importance of great customer service, and I wish I could do all my business with them.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Battery

Great work from great people, from the front desk staff to the guys in the shop! Transmission lost reverse with the forward gears not far behind. They gave me a quote for a full rebuild, got me in and out with minimal down time and the truck is driving better than it ever did. Mike and Squeak are both incredibly knowledgeable and super helpful with any questions or concerns.Service: Transmission

If I could give 10 stars I would! Had issues on a trip from OK to OH a couple of weeks ago. We had intended on staying in Mt Vernon then on to OH the next day but about an hour out I called my husband to ask him to find a place we could bring the car first thing so hopefully we could get back on the road quickly. He thought it was my transmission and made an appt with Melody for 8 the next morning. I was there at 7:45 before they opened. Mike looked at my tire and knows I have an issue. He immediately changes tire to test dive the car. His wife comes in and they decide that she will bring me to the local tire place (they have clout apparently). She drives us over herself to make sure I get 1st service. Get back after maybe 25 minute. Mike put the old tire in the car with cardboard so not to dirty the car (extra step appreciated). He has me test drive with him to make sure I feel comfortable with the car.They went completely out of their way to help us get on our journey. I felt very blessed meeting them both.Service: Tires

Was traveling across country on Columbus Day weekend when a transmission line cracked on our Suburban. They got us right in when no one else would and fixed the damaged line in a flash. Little hole-in-the-wall shop, but they get the job done. Super friendly, amazing people! Definitely recommend!

I took my mercury mountaineer to get the transmission dash light checked out. He put it on the tester and told me exactly what he thought it was a ballpark figure on the fix. Then told me how long I can safely put it off getting repaired. I appreciated his help and honesty! I have a ballpark idea how long I have to save the money I need!

They are very friendly and do a great job. Had our daycare bus transmission messing up and we thought we needed a new one. They diagnosed it and it ended up just being the module. Saved us a lot of money and didn't take advantage of us when they easily could have. Great people!

Mike was great. He knew what was goin on with my transmission as i talked to him. My family and i were headed on a vaca when my yukon xl trans went bad. Showed up to pay and pick up my car and was quickly told the business had been broken into a few days prior. After getting there the lady had asked if my car was able to move when it was dropped off and I replied yes. She then said well I doubt it cause they only stole the cars that was start and go. So after thinking everything was ok with mine since I received no previous call from the business to say anything had happened I went to my vehicle and noticed a bag of expensive gear and the tray in the center console had been stolen. I went in to let the lady know I told her I wanted to double check to make sure the bag want taken out by a family member. This was before I realized the tray was gone. She said to let her know and they would try to make good on it.I called back to let them know that it was in fact all stolen she says it was impossible since they only took cars that would run. My question how would they know if they were running off they didn't try them. But she let me talk to I'm assuming the main guy. Who after telling him what had happened was like well idk. It had to of been in the shop .. but that's where they were in the office with the keys.... Anyways how was response was I don't know what to tell you.. I guess just call the police. What kind of business would not let people know that there was a chance that people's cars were broken into. This happened 2 days before I picked up my vehicle. I guess they have no cameras the business next door was apparently broken into as well.. they also had no cameras. They do not have a locked fenced to keep your vehicles inside of for safety. No cameras outside or inside to watch you vehicles from my understanding. The bag of stuff they took was pretty much equivalent to the amount it cost for them to fix my car. I got charged over$650 just in labor for a input/output sensor. I have filed a police report and from the people I have talked to in town several of them have had horrible experiences. One man said they had his car for 2 months and it got walnut damage on his truck from them levering it parked until the tree. I would not recommend this business. Find trustworthy people to care for you vehicles.Service: Transmission

Y'all are great. After our truck sitting at a local dealer ship who kept stringing us along for 7DAYS after being stranded on a trip from Texas to Michigan, we finally made the decision to have it towed for a second time from dealership to you. Y'all got it in on day 8, transmission replaced in time for us to be rolling back through from MI to Texas. Got our rental returned in time and made it back home without a hitch. I was headed east on highway 64 a couple miles west of Mount Vernon in February when my transmission suddenly failed. I coasted to a stop in the shoulder. I was in the process of moving halfway across the country to start a new job, driving from Missouri to Norfolk VA. I was towing a large trailer with my truck and my two faithful German Shepherds riding shotgun. My wife was following in her car. I could tell by the smell when I got out of the truck that the transmission was done. When I called roadside assistance they recommended M & M for the transmission repair. When I called M & M and explained my situation, the lady I spoke to who was the owner's wife was very sympathetic to my situation and promised they would do their best to get me back on the road as quickly as possible.When you are in a predicament like this, you don't ask about the price. I was happy to find a nearby shop with a good reputation who would give me priority service. The lady (I wish I could remember her name) even recommended a pet friendly motel. The transmission would require a complete rebuild. I contemplated leaving the truck behind and coming back to get it the following week. That wouldn't be necessary because in less than 24 hours M & M had obtained the parts and had me back on the road. The price was very reasonable. Some shops would have taken advantage of the out of state customer who was in a pickle. But not these guys.I was cleaning out my truck this weekend and came across the receipt. It is over 4 months later and the transmission is operating perfectly. It's nice to know there are honest and hard working business people out there. I wish everyone at M & M continued success. They are the best.

We were from out-of-state in our car broke down on the highway. We called M&M Transmissions they got us in right away fixed our car and got us back on the road in one day. We called so many different places and nobody was able to get to us for a week so we were very lucky to find them

Great place! If you need transmission work go see M&M!! They are always busy, but are wonderful people and do their best to fit you in as soon as they can! I would definitely recommend them and will go back if I need any other work in the future!

My son and his wife were moving back to Colorado from Kentucky and got to mount Vernon Illinois and the transmission went out. His father in law was helping them move back so they had to get a uhaul truck and load there belongings in it leaving the truck at m&m transmission I called them on Monday and talk to them told them what had happened and asked if they could somehow get it done by Friday. They said they are swamped but would try since we are out of town. They called me Thursday and it was done!!! They went out of their way to get it done can t say enough about there service it s amazing I would recommend any transmission work if around or in Mt Vernon Illinois!!!!

I walked into the shop from out of town. They got my truck fixed and back on the road in a few hours. The price was great and service was amazing. I recommend this place to anyone.

I was passing thru omw to Arizona when I had a cracked tailshaft on my truck Mike met me after hours with the part and install and got me back on the road in an hour. I'm proud to know a guy like him!! Thanks again Buddy!!

They have rebuilt several od our transmissions and has done a extremely good job. I would reccomend this place to anyone.

They took forever to get the transmission fixed (I hope) AND they did not put the 4 wheel drive linkage back on. We had someone else put the linkage back together. Won't be going back there!!!
