I caught a flat on my way home, which was two hours away, with my kids in the car. I called all around town looking for my tier size, and nobody had it. I called Ron's Truck & Auto Repair and got the best service I think I ever got. They didn't have my tier size, but I ordered it, and it was there within 3 hours. Everything was top-notch. Customer service truly makes you feel welcome.

Backed my car up into another car, then i left after they replaced brakes and rotors and I was still having issues. Brought it back in and they charged me to just have it looked at after they missed the issue in the first place. I will never bring another vehicle back to them

July 2019 Update: I have been using them for I believe over two years now, since my first service with them, for ALL my cars repair and maintenance needs. I still stand by them 100%. Very consistent good affordable service. Original post:Very awesome place! Called several places to price check various services and Rons was the best deal. They fixed my wheel bearing that went out way cheaper than anyone else was quoting me. They did the job well and they did it right. On top of this they were able to get me in and get it finished same day right before a holiday. These are very honest fair people. I've since gone back for an oil change and considering my car takes full synthetic their price was slightly cheaper than anywhere else I've ever gotten my oil changed. They don't annoy you by continuously trying to oversell you things you don't need, they state the facts and the options plain and simple. I need brakes done soon and a blend door actuator replaced in my car and I definitely plan on taking it back to them for both those services in the near future.

I had to use Ron s Truck and Auto Repair in an emergency. I got stranded in Urbana while traveling from Iowa to Indiana. When I was speaking to Spence at the desk I clearly saw how busy they were. He advised that they would get to my car as soon as possible but there were several before mine. So I left my car and walked to get some breakfast. I wasn t gone from the shop 30 minutes before I got a call that my car was looked at and the fix would take about 4 hours. I had nowhere to go so I headed back to the shop where I waited in their lounge area. I was prepared for a long boring wait but before I knew it my car was done! The work was accomplished in just over half the time I was advised, the price I paid was fair (I called a friend to verify this) and Spence even tried to save me a credit card service charge. Overall, if I had to be stranded somewhere I m glad it was near Ron s.

Gone down hill all of a sudden. Used to be the best repair service I have found in Champaign-Urbana, but now one of the worst. Recent experience is: they keep breaking my brake line when they fix one leak in it a new leak is happening as soon as they hand me my keys back after I pay for the work. After two repairs a third leak happens after I already paid nearly $1000 to have the leak fixed. They say "bring it back and we'll fix it." They haven't fixed it without causing another more expensive leak. Outrageous!!!!!! Never going back to them. Crooks are crooks--seems they have become crooked and in a big way.Service: Brakes

This business was excellent. We were travelling through Champaign IL & discovered we had a problem with are suspension system. They were busy but said they would at least look at it to see if we could limp home the last 180 miles. Amazing, friendly service. I got my car towed here a few weeks ago and not not an hour after my car left my house, the owner called me and told me what was wrong with my car. Was inexpensive and very fast. Highly recommend!

I took my car in for for problems with the engine and AC. They were swamped, so I left my car to work on when they had time. By the next day, I had a reasonable quote and they noticed a a problem with the steering wheel, which other mechanics didn't seem to want to fix. Car was ready days sooner than expected and it works better than ever! Very professional and proactive with repairs.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Air conditioning

If only all businesses worked this way...I had a hitch installed to prepare for an interstate move with no flexibility in the timeline. When I went to pick up the trailer I learned that the company that installed the hitch did an absolutely terrible job. I called and they told me the person who installed hitches would be back in the state in a week and I could come in then and have it looked at. Obviously this wasn t an option so they referred me to Ron s and I couldn t be happier with the outcome. Ron s understood my tight schedule and squeezed me in between appointments. They were fast, efficient, and friendly. It was the sort of interaction you hope to have with a business, one where they treat you like a person and actually try to help. I am incredibly greatful to Ron s for saving our move. I would go back there in a heartbeat.

The customer service at Ron's is exceptional. They got me in right away with a busted hose that was causing my car to overheat and smoke. They quickly quoted me a fair price for parts and labor. When they discovered they didn't have the part I need they called all over town until they found it. If the car had to stay the night, they offered me a ride home. They even have wireless internet free in the waiting area! All-around this is an awesome place. I'll come here again if I ever need to.

I would strongly suggest anyone who s taken a vehicle here in the past or is planning to get service done here you get a 2nd estimate or at least call around for other pricing. I took my truck in for the front brakes: was told I needed pads rotors one caliper and hoses in the front ...$812!!! I knew from getting a TOTAL brake system replacement in the past for $550 that this was way high. Called around to 4 places the HIGHEST estimate was $450, I got it done for $340. And they said the hoses were fine. I was told this place was woman owned so they won t rip you off sadly not the case. Oh! And they charged me $45 too to tell me they were gonna rob me blind if I didn t know the difference. Greedy!

These are very sheisty individuals. They were doing work on my car that I did not authorize, and expected me to pay for it. They put the more expensive part on my car when I asked for the less expensive one. They also did not tighten the lug nuts to my tire and I had to pull off the interstate and call my husband to come tighten them. The tire could have come off and I would have been in a severe accident! They also put the wrong clamp on my tires, so they kept losing air and I had to keep filling them up.Very incompetent people working here and Crooks! Do not ever go here!

I went to Rons about a suspension squeak and they replaced upper contol arm. It was left with the same squeak so I went back 2 days later and complained. They refused to do anything about it. They claimed it could be a different problem. Sure, I said.I took it somewhere else and they quiclly idenentified it as a ball joint which needed greasing. They greased it and problem was solved. I'll let you draw conclusions.Service: Steering & suspension repair

I took my truck in for an appointment at 7 am to get front end alignment they said it would be about 2 hours and they had my truck for 7 hours and tell me my Front end is tight and all I need is 4 new tires and then an alignment . Why would i need an alienment after getting new tires if i dont need one now. The guy was very rude and unprofessional in his explanation. Will neber refer anyone to this place for anything they thought because I was a women they could get me to buy there tires which are way Over Priced . Stay Clear of this place.

Called the man at 8 am had to go get a Ac line. I have a Peterbilt, he works works on cars ! By noon I had ice cubes blowing out the vents. He did me a very fair price and great job without asking for a quote. Highly

This place is Awsome. Our AIr conditioner broke on a cross country road trip. We showed up at Rons at 745 am. They said it would be about 30 min befor they could look at it. As promised they pulled the van into the shop within 20 min and started diagnostics on the Ac system. They found the leak, replaced the hose and we were back on the road by 930.Price was very fair and the people were greatGive them your business, you will be very happy.

The best mechanic in the area in my opinion. This is the only shop I take all three cars to. I've tried other mechanics just to be lied to and ripped off. Midas once quoted me 800 for a repair so I called Rons in front of the guy and asked for a quote on the same repair including everything on the quote. While they were getting my quote the guy at Midas prints a new page quoting 650 now, he say suddenly not /everything/ there was necessary and he could "get away with it but wouldn't recommend it" and it would still be 3 days. Rons quoted me 400 and 2 days. I immediately had my car towed over there, and they got it done the next day instead. While that won't be everyones experience every time, they're the only ones I trust with my car.

When my car broke down last night I cant say I was thrilled. I called two towing company's, the first one told me nobody was going to help that time of night. Then I called Tatmans and they recommended Rons. This morning I got a call early on, and Rons kept me in the loop. My quote was fast, the work was fast, the staff was friendly and it was good work at an affordable price. They'll be my go-to from now on, I'm thoroughly impressed.

We bought a chevy astro van from the business across the street from Rons on June 16.The dealer said they had to ride with us to take it to a mechanic. This made it difficult to schedule a check with our normal mechanic since it couldn t be driven there and left, or have just my wife or I just wait for it.They recommended Rons Truck and Auto. They said they had no affiliation with them, and that it was just a convenient place. I will say that when the day came to take it to the garage, the other person wasn t there and I suddenly didn t have to have him along on the check.We wound up taking it there and they found no major issues so we went ahead and purchased the van. That weekend, we drove the van to Chicago and noticed the van was running hot. When we got back, I opened the radiator and discovered a build-up of gunk around the neck of the radiator. We took it to our normal mechanic who tried a thorough coolant system flush and we were in hopes that would resolve the issue. However it continued to run hot and ultimately, it was determined to have a leaking head gasket.I Emailed Ron s to give them a chance to respond or commiserate. Though I understand the nature of the head-gasket leak would make it difficult to find without specifically looking for it, I STRONGLY feel they should have spent 10 seconds looking in the radiator and should have notified us of what they found. However they didn t. They never responded to my email.I cannot recommend Ron s to do this check for you.Needless to say, I am disappointed with the results of our inspection.

Got us back on our way very quickly after replacing a flat tire with a new one. Friendly staff, even let our dog wait inside with us so he didn't have to get hot walking around outside :)

I work at Autotown in Champaign and we use many shops for the different cars/trucks and jobs that need done, but for any AWD/4x4 car or truck I would use Ron's. We had a 2005 Grand Cherokee with the rear dif going out that 2 other shops turned down, they essentially didn't want to mess with it, I called Ashley down at Ron's and they got us right in. Ashley and Spencer were Johnny-on-the-spot when it came to updating us and keeping us informed of new issues that arose, which always seems to happen with older vehicles. They were sure to call around to find the best parts at the cheapest prices, this is huge as most shops don't necessarily care and will take the first part they find regardless of cost. You would be doing yourself a disservice not calling Ashley down at Ron's, fantastic experience from start to end!

Replaced an engine for me. Excellent work, professional, and kept me informed every step of the way. Honest work, and I appreciated that. They do charge an extra.fee for using a cc, but they let me know up front. I will use them again.
