Had a great experience with the staff at PDR Auto. I knew going in the repair would not be simple, but they kept me informed every step of the way and gave me some different options. Thanks to the experienced techs who were able to get my 2009 Subaru Legacy back on the road. I have put over 3000 miles on my rebuilt engine since they completed the repair with zero issues.

PDR has been amazing and they have gone above and beyond to make sure my car and I are taken care of. They are always quick to respond to my inquiries, and they are always helpful when I have questions or concerns. I would highly recommend them for all of your service needs!

Excellent! Amazing customer service and highly skilled technicians. PDR Automotive expertly installed a new clutch in my 2010 mini cooper which is a huge, time intensive job requiring a boatload of skill. In addition to the clutch repair they discovered other repair needs. This discovery was immediately communicated to me and included in the repair. Outstanding experience. Highly recommend. PDR Automotive is fantastic!

I wish I could give a lower star then this. They took my money installing "aftermarket" OEM products, apparently they are one, if the only, place in town that will install aftermarket, or "aftermarket" parts if you buy them yourself. Then tried to get me to spend another $800 some dollars because a transmission cable broke (that they broke) I told them they should not charge me labor and I'll buy the part, they were not okay with that. Then I told them that my car was going to have to sit there because I'm not spending the money that they were asking for for the repair. 15 minutes later they called with a sudden "solution" that only cost less than an eighth of the previously quoted price. I agreed to it, but they made sure to tell me this was a bad choice (which it may have been, but I haven't seen evidence of that yet) compared to the other. The only saving grace is one mechanic there who helped me greatly with his wisdom, Josh, at one time. Good luck if you choose to get your vehicle repaired here. They probably won't treat you nicely or fairly.

PDR was recommended to my by the president of an area car club. I had them replace a pinion seal and check my rear differential to make sure it was set properly. This WOULD have been a $300 job if the assembly was in a car and they had to put it on a lift, pull the wheels and brakes off, take the axles out, etc. However, I brought them the axle housing, diff, and axles already out of the car and disassembled. All they did was replace the pinion seal. They couldn't even find the proper gasket to reassemble everything so I had to reinstall the axles and third member myself. There is no way they spent more than 15 to 25 minutes on this job if the mechanic had any experience at all. The cost? $300. Triple what is fair. This tells me they are not excited about helping classic car owners who do most of their own work. I won't be back with any of my vehicles. I will also echo what a few others have said, the reception you receive when you walk in is not pleasant. It seemed like I was bothering them.

Very helpful staff. They were willing to help me with any questions I had replacing my own wheel bearing along with giving the option to press it for me at a low cost.

Very detailed diagnosis of the problem with a great plan to fix our car. They were very nice, asked multiple times if I had any questions and were able to get us in/out in a timely manner. Fair price for all the work we needed and I'll not hesitate to use them for any of my automotive needs in the future. My 77 year old mother took her 2001 van there to have transmission filter changed because it was slipping the transmission very well could have been bad but I had no idea that they would call her and talk her into 5700.00 for a used transmission swap they should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of elderly like that

BEWARE - PDR will take your $$$ and fail to fix your car. Claim they diagnosed dead battery and fixed it. Charged $500 - way overpriced. Day of pick up - car becomes inoperable and PDR ownership shrugs its shoulders. Take your biz to Myler Automotive Repair instead.

My son went here and they said he needed a new computer and 2 keys. He saved upt he $950 to get the car taken care of but when he call about the car they told him that he needed 900 more dollars because it was an alternator as well. If he had the proper diagnostic done in the 1st place he would not have planned to spend almost 2 grand. So now he has a non running car sitting in a parking lot. And out of a thousand dollars that is wrong. This is a 2005 Ford focus And it's not even worth that much money they ripped him off and they know it.Service: Electrical

I went here because they were one of the few mechanics in Urbana who would work on mini coopers. When I brought my car in, I was explaining the problems I was having (including my engine overheating) and what another mechanic believed the problem to be, and the guy cut me off to tell me I was wrong. The problem they addressed happened to be about 2x as expensive to fix than what I thought the problem was. Literally two days after I got my car back, my engine overheated again. I took the car back and to their credit, they looked at it without charging me again. However, they claimed they couldn t find anything wrong with my car and claimed I didn t originally tell them my car overheated the first time I brought it in, which is absolutely untrue. I really think the guy I dropped my car off with just decided I didn t know what I was talking about and stopped listening. A few months later, my car has overheated a few more times and I ve decided I just have to get a new car at this point. I really wish I had decided this before spending $1000 here to not even have my car fully fixed. They might be good for more common cars, but I absolutely would not recommend bringing a Mini Cooper here.

I came in looking for services for a belt tensioner replacement as well as for my exhaust pipe. I m a shy person and a woman, but I feel that because of this I was taken advantage of. The cost of repair was so expensive, beyond reasonable for just one belt replacement and they didn t break down the price, just said for all the parts plus service . I felt like there was no explanations given to me- women are often upcharged when it comes to auto repairs and this was definitely one of those times. When I paid, the guy said thank you, I really appreciate this. Overall, if this place sees a customer that they can take advantage of, they will.

Really liked Josh. I think he was the manager. Very honest and let me know in detail what should be fixed, hour long it would take and price range. I got 4 new tires, power belt, and brakes. I thought the price was a little high, a little over $1,300 hundred. But last line my car had issues in took it to farm and fleet. Horrible experience. I will continue to be a PDR customer.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

The diagnostic was very detailed and the service was prompt. My impression was that the mechanics are very knowledgable because I had an (apparently common to my model) issue that had not been diagnosed properly by other auto shops.

I had three different vehicles in for three repairs, a steering rack+pump+line replacement and two tire repairs over the course of three years. Some people in the review mention high prices, but the quality of work can't match most mechanics I have been to. Most dealership repair shops and quick lube shops are not even comparable. I do most of my maintenance at home because I like to do it right, but knowing that I have PDR Automotive, I don't worry about a mechanic doing a poor quality work on my vehicles. I would highly recommend PDR Automotive!

PDR has always been there for me through my glorious 7 years with my 2002 Toyota Camry. They will keep explaining the issue until you fully understand. As a woman, I have never felt taken advantage of or uncomfortable around the staff like I have at other facilities around town. They are informative, honest, and want to help you make the best decision for yourself and your vehicle. After my last visit, I found out that my car would be much more to fix than what it is actually worth. I had questions about how to go about purchasing a new car and getting rid of my old car, as it was a new experience for me. Josh answered all my questions and more! It was a huge relief and I wasn't treated with any type of judgment for being a little bit clueless. All businesses should treat their consumers this way! The world would be a better place if all customer service was like this!!Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Battery

I pulled in without an appointment because my tire was going flat. The technician at the desk had someone squeeze my car in before lunch thinking it would be a simple patch so I could get out quickly. Unfortunately it was more than that, but I appreciated the effort made to quickly find the issue! They are courteous and professional, will definitely go back to them.Service: Tires

PDR have an amazing dedicated team! At the start of July I ran into multiple car issues, my power steering column was making odd noises, my AC unit was down and my tires were badly cupped. After expressing to Josh (one of the managers at PDR) that I was not in a financial position to pay for all the treatments at once, he worked with me to identify the opportune time to get the repairs done and other future repairs done. He also provided me with a courtesy ride to and from my house twice and from the dentist.PDR have a great team and staff that truly care for their clients. I highly recommend them!

The guys at PDR are awesome. They don't charge you for every little thing/more than what you went in for. They recently had my vehicle for an entire day to inspect the a/c system and replace a tire and my bill was significantly less than I expected for the amount of time they spent on it. The information I got from them is also invaluable - they tell it like it is in terms you can understand and genuinely want you to do what makes the most sense for you and your situation. We will definitely be coming back the next time we need something done. Thank you!

Was looking to purchase an older, high-mileage used vehicle from a local dealership but knew the vehicle would need some repair. I wanted to know exactly what I'd be getting myself into before purchasing the vehicle. Despite being short staffed, PDR worked this inspection into their schedule. The vehicle had not been well maintained and needed much more work than what I was willing to do and more work than the dealership had identified. Thankful for such a thorough and timely inspection.

PDR Automotive was such a delight. I usually carry out basic maintenance on my own but this time, when I was driving from Indianapolis to Peoria, I was just lazy and decided to get an oil change done through an auto repair shop. I called them and requested if I could be squeezed in the same day. Request was entertained and I reached there right on time. The technician was waiting and he immediately took the car in. While I was waiting, i got talking with a guy at the front desk who gave me a lot of excellent advice on car maintenance-something that I had overlooked in the past. And now, I was wondering if they would end up charging me a lot for this work, because of the quality of people they employ. When the car was ready, I was pleasantly surprised to see the bill. The least I have paid so far!! They also returned the balance engine oil so that I could use it next time!!I wish I could get their names just to get that on record and let them know what a great job they ve been doing. Thanks a lot guys. I ll surely come back when I need some work done, even if it means driving an hour and a half all the way from Peoria.

PDR is a very professionally run auto repair shop. They were extremely helpful, informative, and delivered all services as promised. I really liked their text messages linking a description and estimate when that was completed. They even were able to give me a ride as my car was being repaired. A very good customer service experience.

The folks at PDR are great. They are friendly and professional. I also believe they are highly skilled and posses the equipment needed to diagnose and treat most if not all makes and models. Their prices are extreme, probably due to the equipment and software needed to care for such a variety of vehicles. PDR provides a shuttle service and flexible drop off and pick up hours. Essentially, PDR provides the same type of service you would find at a dealership. The downside at PDR is the cost and the lack of amenities. When you pay dealer prices for service, you typically have an upscale waiting area with plenty of seating and brand new cars or vans used as shuttle vehicles. Often, when a dealer services a vehicle they will wash the exterior and vacuum the interior when finished. At PDR, you pay the upscale dealer prices but the upscale service amenities are lacking. My nearest dealer is in Peoria or Indy. Having a highly skilled mechanic locally wins out over making a 2hr drive to get the upscale service amenities when the same level of service expertise can be found at PDR.

I had a lot of problems with my car, and when I took my car to a different repair shop, the estimate was astronomical. My friend recommended PDR, so I contacted them and told them what was wrong with my car. John at PDR got back to me right away, and created an estimate of anything that might be wrong with the car based on what I was describing, and said he would do a full inspection as soon as I brought my car in and before he did any work. After looking at my car, he called, emailed, and texted me with a very detailed inspection and exactly how much everything would cost. Even though I needed a lot of work done, it was done very quickly and everything seems to be working great so far! I'm glad I listened to my friend, I only wish I had taken my car to PDR in the first place!
