Needed a new muffler, an oil change and a couple of things fixed that weren't working. I had only wanted a muffler estimate but they gave a great price and said the work could be done same day. David was fantastic. I picked up my car on Friday that afternoon with all my issues fixed and a new muffler for a wonderful price. Will definitely be returning.

I ve always had a good experience here. The service is thorough and quick. They ve never overcharged me. In fact, sometimes they offer a small business discount. I have an old rusty farm truck and a new delivery van and both vehicles have been serviced at this location. I don t write Google reviews very often, but my experience was positive enough to inspire me to write one.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I had a popped tire and came here to have them put a new tire on. Without me even asking, they checked out my old tire and realized they could patch it up and save me over $100. Essentially, they did more work for less money. This place has integrity, and Dave is a great manager!

Dave and his crew are fantastic! I bring our cars here for everything from oil changes (usually cheaper AND faster than the "quicky" places in town!) to variable valve timing actuator replacements. They do good work, don't rip people off, and have reasonable prices. I took my bmw there with a radiator leak. I informed them that it had already been diagnosed. They charge me $55 for a diagnosis after I had been told $29 over the phone. I picked it up and brought it back in for repair. They informed me that it was a radiator vent hose which is apart of the upper radiator hose. As soon as I picked my car up after paying them $320 my car had a leak in my driveway. My warning light came on and I went to put coolant in my vehicle only to find out the they had stripped a brand new coolant cap. I took my vehicle back to them and they told me it was the zap the was causing it to leak. I picked my vehicle up again and bought it back home only to find it still leaking. I took my vehicle back up to them a third time only for him to tell me that it was the upper radiator hose (which I specifically told him was the initial problem in the first place. Almost $509 later and car still not fixed and they had the nerve to tell me it would be another $300 something to get it fixed. Do not go here!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Could not be happier with this shop. I needed a part replaced that had worn out much too quickly, and they called around to get it covered under warranty - then comped the cost of labor, which was above and beyond the call of duty. They do their work quickly, communicate well, and charge very fair prices. I've been here three times and recommend them.Services: Brakes, Oil change

Honest and honor! Thank you Dave and your technician that spend hours on my vehicle. After dropping my college student, I was stuck with an inoperable vehicle in an unfamiliar area. In a time of distress, Dave got me in and helped me on my way. He was more then fair, honest and generous with his time. I would highly recommend them. Thank you.

If it does not suit himself, Dave can be highly impolite and extremely rude; both of my sons and wife agree on this. I recently went to another tire shop they told me I would need a new tire,, because the nail that was in my tire because where it was couldn't be fixed. I came to Midas where the owner/manager is, and he got me back on the road without me having to buy another tire.Dave is not only upfront with you. I would recommend him to anyone. Dave Peter's Midas in Urbana is a great shop quality work and very fair prices. He always explains everything in your repair. Good place to buy tires too. convenient location and flexible scheduling. I recommend.

If you look like different from the desk guy at this Midas, dont dare to ask second time. Very rude and racist. I asked him politely can you do oil change today and he replied me rudely "remember what I said before, either Thursday or ....". This guy was speaking very politely with a blonde lady who was ahead of me in the line.

Admittedly, I don't know much about cars but their front desk service was great. Very accommodating, friendly, and even fun. They asked me if I needed water, gave me accurate waiting times, and were accommodating when I left to go on a walk. My car also stopped making excessive noise, which was my goal. *Whether it was the best service or price, I wouldn't be able to judge due to lack of experience, so take everything with a grain of salt. The phone call service to book the appointment was less friendly and a bit impatient/condescending, but they did get me booked pretty quickly, which I appreciated.... Side note: don't go to speed lube Champaign. They're incompetent, rude, dishonest, and act like frat boys.

went to get my car checked out and have my power steering fixed get the car back the next day and what do you know when i use my windshield wipers the fluid shoots over the car... I came here for an oil change last year because my original place was booked. Dave and his team were quick, friendly, and charged almost 1/2 the price of what other places charge. Have been coming here ever since and would recommend to others

I visited Midas to check my car before I left Urbana. They charged me $440 for power steering fluid oil, tire pressure sensors, break oil, and so on, and later I realized that they didn't do anything. So, I called them again and they said, if there were issues even after repairing, it is my responsibility to check and come again. If anyone want to save money, don't visit this place. They will charge you several hundred dollars for nothing, and you need to spend more money at the different car repair shop. + and also very rude.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

Thank you to Dave and the Midas staff for their honesty today about my car. True professionalism and honesty. Saved me a ton of money and worry.I know very little about cars, my car oil light when on, one dealer quoted me dealer quote me at $4,000 to "re-rig" the engine. He was trying to take advantage of my situation.I brought it to Dave for a second opinion and he said there is absolutely nothing wrong with the engine the car just needed some oil. He chose to be honest with me, and I am grateful for this.Thank you Dave and Midas staff! You saved me a ton of money and worry! A great place to bring you car for an honest and prompt assessment!

Spent $15 in Uber and rushed my day to drop off and pick up the car. Was told to pick up at 3:30, or by 5, since they close at 5 and won t open until next week .Went for pickup at 4:30, got told they didn t look at it. They said they ll do tomorrow, which is four days before next week. No explanation, no sorry in their words or in the air of the room.Maybe they ll do a fantastic job on my car tomorrow and I ll fix my review then, but that depends on the condition that I bring my car back. Or they rob my car back.That s fine though. They value their customer relationships, but they didn t say they guarantee that you ll be a customer. Maybe they have high standards for being their customer, as high as they are. Clearly I don t qualify there. You will though. Try it.

A friend recommended me Midas in Urbana when I bought my first car. I ve been their customer since 2018. The owner, Dave Peters, has always been prompt, courteous, and helpful both in person and over the phone. The experience for which I m rating the business with 5 stars is about a brake checkup I needed a few weeks ago after a road trip incident returning from Minneapolis. There was a noise coming from the back wheels. I was afraid the work would be expensive since I had Midas mechanics have the whole break system replaced about a year or so ago. I visited them again to see what they could do. They had my car ready a few hours after my visit at no cost. I was speechless. I tried to tip them, but they didn t take it. These guys are really cool.Service: Brakes

Went to this Midas location because my car was making a weird noise and was having issues backing up. Turns out it was a loose bolt. Dave and the other person I spoke with were extremely professional and very friendly. I've been there twice with two different cars. They were very professional and thorough. They had reasonable prices. Unfortunately, one visit they weren't able to fix my car, but they diagnosed the issue. I will definitely be returning as needed.
