This has been the WORST experience I have ever had with an auto shop! Our car was taken to this shop on 1/5/24. The car had wire damage caused by animals. Long's Garage told us they would not be able to LOOK at the car until 1/17/24. That date came and went and we heard nothing about our car. My husband had a 3-way phone call with our insurance and the shop. Long's Garage said that they had not looked at our car and did not know when they were going to get to it. Our insurance had been contacting the shop regularly for the last 2 weeks asking the shop when they were going to give us an estimate of the cost of the repairs. Finally on 2/1/24, my husband had a phone call with the shop and they said our car is repaired and ready to be picked up. When we asked why we were never given an estimate, the shop said that "you can't really do an estimate with this type of repair and you kinda have to fix it as you go to know the total cost". That was interesting since our insurance adjuster was able to provide a quote without fixing the car. My husband and I did NOT authorize any type of work to be done on the car! When I picked up the car on 2/2/24, Long's Garage's documentation stated that they got the car on 1/18/24 and fixed it that same day. When I asked why we were never notified it was ready if it was supposedly fixed that day, I was told it was because they did not have our contact information! When I paid the bill for the repair, the car would not even start! The battery was dead! The car they supposedly fixed would not even turn on! This place is so unprofessional and disrespectful. There was so much more I could have added but this post is long enough. I have documentation from our insurance and phone records proving that this shop has been lying to us about everything! I am writing this to warn others of what could happen if they do business with this Long's Garage.

Always a great experience. Everyone is friendly and make sure your car remains in great working order. I had an oil change and four new tires installed as well as wheels I had ordered to be put on at the same time. Amazingly nice experience with this shop. My daughter had an issue with her tires - she stopped in to have them checked out. Turned out she just needed a tire reset, but they double checked to ensure it was safe to drive and wouldn't let her give them a penny. Will definitely go back for future service! Thank you for making sure she was safe to hit the road!Service: Tires

I m very picky about who works on my 2015 Subaru WRX STI. I had a timing belt kit that I planned on installing myself but time isn t necessarily on my side lol. Met the team at Long s after performing vinyl/coating services on their Ford Bronco and Chevy Tracker. They were able to get my STI in very quickly and completed the work in one day. From one picky car enthusiast to another, this place can be highly trusted. Thanks guys!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning

DONT TAKE YOUR CAR TO LONG GARAGE!!!! Horrible communication overpriced. Told me repeatedly they'd have my vehicle done "the next day" ....this was not a parts issue or an issue with my car, they said they ran into an issue with another car which took precedence over my car. A WEEK later after they had completely messed up my moving plans told me the vehicle would be "the next day". When I called the first time and asked for a time frame for when it might be done, the guy said quite rudely "um I can't predict the future, so no, I can't tell you" and when I called back and asked them to stop all work and just give me the vehicle back , they said they couldn't. So, if you want your car to be held hostage for two weeks....

I can't rate their work bec they didn't actually have to do a repair but I can definitely give 5 stars for their honesty and customer service. I was nervous about taking my car to a garage while I was working here in IL. I chose Longs based on positive reviews on their work, there were some lesser reviews but they were mostly ppl unhappy with how long a job took or something else unrelated to craftsmanship.I took my car in feeling certain I had a problem with my wheel, later I got a call saying there was nothing wrong my wheel, it was actually a simpler repair that could be put off until I got back to my home state of LA. They could easily have just repaired what I asked them to and I would've been satisfied and not known anything different. I appreciate y'all!

When my car started having issues with its engine going into low power mode, I was very nervous to take it somewhere and get it looked at since I'm a woman without a lot of car experience. I took it to Long's and I'm so glad I did! They diagnosed the issue (leaky sunroof short circuiting things) and gave me a band-aid fix without charging me a dime! I took my car back later to get it fixed and the price was very reasonable, much lower than the original estimate. Super nice and respectful all around, can't recommend them enough!

I took my Caravan to Longs to try and extend the life of it a little bit longer before buying something newer. The team there listened to all my concerns and provided me with a thorough inspection of all the worn out items. Everything was explained to me very well so I felt like I could make an informed decision. After I gave them the go ahead on a very labor intensive job with a few parts they had me fixed up in two days for a very fair price. I've put about 50 miles on the van since pick up and I can tell that things are a lot smoother and I feel better about loading in my 4 kids. Longs will always have my business. My daughter took our car to Long s for replacement of the tire sensors, an oil change, and tire rotation. We were told back home at the dealer that both of the back tires needed new sensors but we waited to fix them as the dealer was expensive. Long s checked and only found one needed to be replaced and cost was very reasonable. Grated for their diligence and saving us $. Longs Garage did an excellent job for our 2003 Honda with 105K maintenance. They took care of my daughters car, treated her honestly, fairly and did not try any outlandish upcharge or gouge us on a couple small things that popped up when working on the car.We highly recommend Longs garage for honesty, integrity quality and good service!Curtis & Channing

I ve been taking my car here for years and they re the absolute best! Always incredibly kind, helpful, and honest. As someone with less knowledge about cars than I d like to admit, I ve always appreciated the care they take in addressing any issue I have without always trying to upsell me. Highly recommend if you re looking for an honest and trustworthy garage.

I am very impressed. The first time I went in to Long's, I was having some weird issues with my engine only starting about half the time. I drove up, they looked at it immediately, reconnected a loose wire, and didn't even charge me. The second time, I called about a flat tire and they said I could bring it right in. 20 minutes later, I walked out with the issue fixed for a very reasonable price. Finding a place to get repairs on your vehicle has become very difficult these days. Is the place going to over charge you, lie or install parts you don't need, the list goes on and on. But when I went to Longs Garage, none of these worries occurred. They were upfront, honest, as well as respectful. I got my brakes, rotors, and calipers repaired on my Toyota Prius recently and Longs Garage was not only fast, price was reasonable and guys treated me with respect. I'll definitely go back to Longs Garage for other issues as well as highly recommend them to others in the Champaign/Urbana IL area.Service: Brakes

I have used Long s in the past and have been happy with them, but had a recent experience that is making me see them differently. I went in about a month ago with a check engine light on and an increase in noise which occurred at about the same time. I told them that I have had this experience before with this car and it was likely a hole in the exhaust. There is some rust damage.They keep the car for a day and then tell me that the catalytic converter is broken AND two separate oxygen sensors are broken AND it is going to require a lot of labor to replace the whole assembly because it is all integrated. It s going to cost nearly $1500 to fix! I ask why a broken catalytic converter would make the car loud, and they say oh yeah, and there is also a broken pipe . I ask if we can replace the pipe and see if that fixes the problem. They say such a repair would not even be possible. I say I will have to think about it since the car is old and probably not worth that level of investment. They then casually mention how hard it is to buy a used car right now, and let me know they can fix my car whenever I come back.I was uneasy about the exchange and so go went to another garage in the city. It was a broken flex pipe. The other garage fixed it for $200 in a single morning. My car is fine now.Like I said, I have had good experiences with Long s in the past, so this exchange surprised me. I dont know it was a new mechanic, new management, just a bad day or what. I am probably not going back though.Service: Auto exhaust system repair

Long's provided honest, fast and reliable repair for my daughter's 2008 Chevy 2500HD. And they charged us 1/5 of what the dealership wanted to charge! A few months ago, I noticed some high pitched noise coming from the rear tires. It was quite clear to me that the noise is from rear tires, but I was not able to pinpoint the side exactly.I called Peter B's to get an appointment, but unfortunately, their earliest availability was a month later. I searched for other options, and Long's Garage showed up.I took the car to their garage and told them the noise is from rear , but they have to drive a little bit to pinpoint which side it is from.A few hours later, they called and said they have driven the car and they have diagnosed that the noise is from front breaks.I told them I am quite sure the noise from rear, but they said they have checked and the rear breaks still has 80% on them. So, I decided to go with their recommendation and change the front brakes for $380.After getting the car back, not only the rear noise was still present, whenever I brake, the new front brakes also make noise. I called Peter B's and made an appointment for a month later. They clearly diagnosed the rear brakes to be the cause, changed them and the noise is gone.Long story short, I paid $380 to this business and all I got was a noisy brake in front. I think they give honest feedback. I had a rustling sound coming from my front passenger side wheel. They inspected it and said there is no problem right now - it could be the wheel bearing but not to worry unless the sound increases further, since a bearing replacement is few hundred bucks. They didn't charge me any money. So I left with some free advice from an expert which is exactly what I wanted. But I'm yet to see how their service is.

I slid on black ice (DOH!). When my tire banged into a curb sideways and 3 dashboard lights went on, I knew I was in trouble. I'm new to town, so I asked the tow service who they recommend and it was Long's. They were right! I had such a fair, honest experience at Long's. They assured me it wasn't as bad and extensive as it seemed, gave me a fair price, and ordered parts/fixed it up in a timely fashion. I have a 20 ft enclosed trailer. I had just purchased a new tire since I seen I needed to replace a tire that was severely losing tread. I was 6 hrs away from my shop so I decided to try and get it changed out before my long drive. I did not have a jack for my trailer and didnt want to buy another one since I have some at my shop. I figured I could have this shop simply jack up my trailer to install this tire, literally takes 5 mins. I called and asked if they could do this, explained my situation and whoever answered the phone said they were backed up and too busy to change the tire which I said I would pay for the service obviously. After they said no I drove by to see how busy they were .. they didn t look busy. Needless to say I ended up buying another jack and changed it myself while realizing some people don t understand that showing some compassion by helping others in need goes along way. I have had 20 employees all with trailers in this same city for a roll out project and will not be giving this place any business. Hope the pandemic didn t ruin you.

I have been taking my cars to Long's Garage for over 20 years. They are experts in auto repair and they do the job right! They are very professional and always have time for any concerns the customer might have. We are very fortunate to have this quality of auto repair in our city!

Got my car back fast and runs well. Also had a $500 quote only cost me $250 when he could have easily charged me the $500 but because he was able to get the part for $250 cheaper he passed the savings along me. I will be a returning customer because it's hard to find a good honest mechanic at reasonable prices.

Been doing business with them since 2009. Always fair and honest with me especially when giving bad news. " How much do you love this car" means it's going to be over 1200 and may not be worth it.

I had my fuel pump go out while I was at work yesterday. They got me in without a problem and had my car back to me by noon the next day. Nothing but friendly and respectable people in this shop. Great place fair price. Fast service, went in with a cracked radiator and within the day got the radiator replaced and oil changed. Other shops were a week out from even looking at radiator.Definitely recommend
