They were very good at diagnosing an issue with my car. The turn around time was quick. All the workers were extremely friendly. Overall a very good experience. Highly recommended.

I highly rate this business. I've gone through many mechanics in the past few years and was about to give up. I just got my van fixed by KCM and had it towed to 2 different places before I brought it here. Nobody could figure out what was going on with it. KCM figured it out right away and were shocked that nobody could fix it. They said it was obvious from the get go what was going on..... Thank you for your professionalism.....

very nice people, was recommended by another place that didn t do the work i was looking for. i left my car with them for a WEEK & they took great care of my (slightly aged) baby & i am so grateful for their patience because they had to wait for my car to get back in no-start mode before they could provide a (free) diagnostic. will def come back for some less urgent work they recommended

I ve had the pleasure of doing business with KCM on multiple occasions. Always super friendly and honest (and affordable!!). Even when stopping in just to ask questions and for advice when I work on my own car they ve always warmly welcomed me and are willing to explain things. Just all around great people.

Super friendly atmosphere and they have a cute dog. My car was having electrical issues and the dealership wasn t able to find what was wrong but KCM found it quickly. They said it was a simple fix that only took a few minutes, so they didn t charge me anything. Highly recommend.

The most honest people I've ever seen in car repair; never had a mechanic give me options on parts to save money. My son was visiting and had car issues he needed his car for work the next day. They not only squeezed him in the same day but fixed a small issue at no cost!!!!

I got a piece of metal dropped (not sure if it was from my car) last week on highway. Patrick helped me jack up the car and checked it (it is not part of my car) and I am really appreciate and surprised that they didn t charge me. The lady at front desk is very helpful!

If you want to get you car worked on by mechanics with no teeth this is a great spot! They also charge 4% if you pay with a credit card. & if you need a bag of weed the lady manager sell ounces for 150

THEY LIE TO YOU!!!! They tried to scam you the thing/service you don't need.I have been going to change oil at KCM for three years. In the recent oil change, they told me I need to change my brake pads since the pads are only 3% remaining, and the pads might start to grind the rotors. They told me that I might need to change the rotor as well. I asked whether I could check the pad myself in the shop now since I recently changed it. But they told me they had already put the tires back and refused.In 2 days, I brought my car to another auto shop for brake inspection to double-check the status of the pads. It turns out the thickness of all the pads is more *50%* THICKNESS (> 3 mm), and the rotors are TOTALLY FINE.I probably won't go to KCM again and am very disappointed.Service: Oil change

If you've met the staff here, you'll know that they are the absolute best in their service. I, and many others in my family, exclusively went to them while in Urbana. Moved out of town recently and I still call them when I'm uncertain and in need of advice with my car.Cannot emphasize enough - they're trustworthy and overall just good people. They are so skilled, will share their wealth of knowledge with you, and will help you take care of your car. Go here! My experience with KMC Auto Care was exceptional. I attempted to replace the alternator on my car, but due to an injury, I sought their help to complete the job. They scheduled me for the following week and finished the task the next day.The pricing offered was fair and reasonable. The drop-off area was convenient even for a large tow truck. What impressed me was their welcoming guest area, which exuded a warm and homey atmosphere. A testament to the staff's sense of responsibility was the presence of multiple well-cared-for animals.Though I understood that having a mechanic finish a repair is bad etiquette, I did my best to assist. I provided a detailed breakdown of the steps taken, labeling the parts and bolts involved.They candidly mentioned that undoing some of my work was tedious. Not a compliment, yes; however, it was genuine and honest. I appreciate their transparency and dedication to the job.Now, let me address a couple of minor nitpicks. While most of the post-it notes I used to label the parts were removed, there were a few left behind that I had to retrieve from the engine bay by partially disassembling the air intake. Additionally, I noticed that one bolt holding the air intake was missing.Despite these minor issues, I remain highly satisfied with the overall job performed by the KMC staff. I want to extend my gratitude for their timely and skilled assistance during my time of need. Their professionalism and expertise made a genuine difference. A few friends recommended KCM when my car broke down. First of all, the office manager Julie, is a gem! Such a kind and helpful person. Everyone I dealt with there was straight forward and honest, which is a a huge plus! I have been coming here for years and they're the best auto shop I've ever used. They take the time to inspect your vehicle and they don't upcharge you at all. They're always honest, open, and they communicate wonderfully. My family that lives in the area all use KCM as they're the only mechanics we trust. Cannot express how wonderful this place is when it comes to auto repair!

I had three separate repairs on our family vehicles in a short amount of time. KCM got me in quickly each time. They did great work and charged a very reasonable price. Also, I felt like they were very transparent on the costs. After a major engine repair, my truck seems to be running the smoothest it has since I bought it (used). Amazing service, staff were very friendly and honest. I had to go in because of an odd noise that was coming from my car and they were able to diagnose the issue in detail, fast and completely free of charge. I will definitely be doing business with them in the future! They definitely care about their customers

I had an incredible experience with this business. I am a traveling healthcare worker on assignment from out of state and I took my 2013 Sonic in to be checked after a minor accident left my car making an odd noise at faster speeds. They checked my car without appointment and all I can say is they went above and beyond to thoroughly look at everything possible!!! To top it off since they didn t find anything (even after putting car up on lift to check it out) they didn t charge me a dime not even a time/labor charge!! I will definitely be sure to get my car serviced for my journey back home to Florida. They definitely care about people more then making a quick buck from them .not many businesses like this around Urbana you are lucky to have them!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

The staff are really friendly. I wasn t sure if I should change my brake fluid and do a car alignment, they took the time to check my car, and explained to me whether I should do anything or not without additional charge. One of mechanic helped me installed a small piece of car decoration that I don t have the ability to do myself. On another day, I went there and the lady gave me free pizza and donuts. She did not know her kind move rescued my day: I had an awful day that day and did not eat anything until her pizza.These things may not be directly related to car mechanical issues, but each time I visit I feel happy and warmly treated.

Knowledge, skill and trust are my three essentials in choosing and staying with an auto repair shop - and KCM has them all! KCM is a multi-generation family business and when I come in I feel like part of that family. They are extremely knowledgeable and look for an inexpensive fix first. These are great people. I was in town for business on a Friday afternoon and had a nail in my tire. Within a minute of walking in the door, they had my car up on the lift. They fixed it in about 15 minutes. They also had a cute puppy roaming around the lobby. Excellent service. The world needs more friendly, salt-of-the earth people like this.

I had a visit to KCM today and they did good job they know what they doing but what i didn't like is the job takes only 2 hours and they make me pay 7 hours cause the book say 7 hours in my opinion that wasn't fair also i had my parts and they didn't order any extra parts for me. They add shop supply to the invoice and also that's no right

Friendly, fair, quick and good quality of work.2005 F-150: I had them replace brakes and rotors, and a couple of months later they diagnosed and replaced an idler pulley, serpentine belt and a few other parts.I've been pleased and will continue to give them my business.

As a relatively new customer, I can say that my first two visits had me wanting to return to KCM Auto Care, but my third did not.The staff at KCM Auto Care are all undeniably nice, even when you call to make an appointment, the receptionists I have spoken with have been kind and delightful. However, when I walked in the the other day to get an oil change, I was faced with three people behind the desk that were all not wearing masks.I will not be returning to KCM Auto because no matter how nice they are, the fact that every worker there chose not to wear a mask until after I requested it, was enough to make me believe that the staff doesn't feel concerned about the safety of other people.I have nothing negative to say about the services they provide, I originally went with them because of raving Reddit posts. However, even once this pandemic is over, I will not be returning to them seeing as no one seemed to take it seriously.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Lady at the front desk cussed at me calling me a MFer(because they decided to do work on their business and stay open and she didn't want trucks dropped off) and was just rude. Also either didn't know Penske policy or lied. Either way she adamantly told me I wasn't getting a refund for DEF that was used on my trip. One call to Penske and it was refunded and I was told that was always their policy.

Have brought our older cars into KCM a few different times over the past couple years and have always had excellent experiences. They give honest advice and go the extra mile to take care of you as a customer. A couple times they have fixed an extra thing they found for no extra fee (small things) and surprised me by their genuine care. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

Best auto place in town, by far!! The employees go above and beyond to help their customers! My car was on the verge of breaking down. All the other auto shops would not help me out -- there was going to be at least a week-long wait. I called KCM and the mechanic had me come in immediately. They found out what the problem was, drove me home, ordered and replaced the part and had the car ready to go within 24 hours. Not only did they cut me a great deal, but they truly care about helping their customers in any way that they can. Genuine, trustworthy people who are good at what they do!! People like this are hard to come by nowadays. You'd be crazy not to contact them!

These people really know what they are doing and it wasn't until recently that I had a bad experience with them, hence the 3 stars verus 2. I took in my car one day to get a gas leak checked out. I was told my car was in pretty good condition and that the service would not cost more than $350. I was very happy because I knew I had an old car and was expecting to give up on it from a much higher expense. I told them to go ahead and also do an oil change. Well, they did the job well but it took them an entire week to get the job done that they claimed would only take 4 hrs. The really frustrating thing was that they kept promising it would be done by the end of the day and it wasn't. Finally, they admitted to their manager being gone and having 2 people out and blah blah. I think they have a great manager that really keeps their business working but without him, the place falls apart. At the end, I spent over $600 because they found more rust and had to fix a brake line that had fallen not because of their work but because my car had more rust in that area than I had been told initially. On top of this, when I went to check my oil before I went on a trip, I realized that they had forgotten to change the oil even though they charged me for it. When I called back, the lady didn't even offer a free oil change until I suggested one. Instead, she just apologized and ask if I wanted to get an oil change because I had already "paid for it." I am never returning here for basic jobs but admittedly, this is probably the only place I trust that will do great work on your car. They really just need to figure out their organization and staffing issues whenever their manager is out. I left feeling very disappointed and angry with their business because the workers I have met before have always been very nice. Also, some advice for the older lady who works at the desk, it's probably not a great idea to answer personal calls when you have costumers. It's unprofessional and a bit awkward.
