We stayed here so we could go to the NIU homecoming. We arrived late but the owners were very accommodating. The sites are on the small side but definitely not as tight as others have said. The grounds are beautiful and our son loved the sandbox. We caught tons of fish in the pond. Also the gentleman in the office was very helpful when we needed to source RV parts. We will be staying here again next year.

Where do I start? We looked for a camping site do to a family member being in the hospital in Sycamore. It turns out that the camp site is just about a few minutes down the road from it. What started out as a week trip ended up to be longer. The owners of the camp grounds were very accommodating. We got to keep the same lot the hole time. The park has to be one of the nices and family friendly places we have ever been. The view of the lake across from the site was amazing. The sounds of geese coming in to land and fish jumping making splashing noise in the evening made a great night. After spending the day up at the hospital. Thanks for being local. Richard and Patty.

So happy we found this RV Resort. The sites are spacious as well as located in a very quiet and quaint part of town. There is a lot to do around Sycamore and the surrounding cities. My 1 complaint was why charge people $2.00 per person to come in and visit while we are there. My family that came in had to pay $10.00 to spend an hour with us.

Great campground - definitely will come back! Site has a small lake and a pond. Walking trails around the lake are a great bonus. Has a small beach on the the far side of the lake - great for kids. Laundry room and shower rooms are the best I ve seen. Love the sites near the water with trees, gravel pads and grass and picnic tables between sites. The owners are very helpful and keep everything very clean. Overall, very well run.And there is a great butcher store and a pizza takeout place up the road - walking distance. The butcher has fresh and cooked meat - highly recommend the cooked ribs and broccoli salad :)

Second time staying there and will definitely stay again when we re back in the area! Quiet, clean, safe, family friendly, and dog friendly. 4 stars because the roads are just gravel and sand and it s a mess after it rains. Laundry is also quite expensive, but they re commercial units.

Just stayed one night on our way from KY to WI but really enjoyed it! We called to let them know we'd get there just after they were to close at 6 and they said they'd wait for us, which we appreciated. The gravel site was level and had full.hook ups and a nice view of the small lakes on the property. There's a gravel road around one lake and a walking trail around the other, which was a lovely and easy way to stretch our legs after a long day driving. The bath house with it's separate shower rooms, complete with sink and toilet were among the best and cleanest we've seen. We walked the mile or so to downtown Sycamore (easy walk with sidewalks). There were several shops, restaurants and historic buildings there. Most were closed by the time we got there but we went back in the morning for coffee and bagels from Shawn's - excellent! We will definitely stay here next year when we're passing through again!Nearby activities: Restaurants, shops just down the road and in the downtown, historic districtWalkability: Nice walking around the campground and to the downtown area

Sycamore RV Resort offers both water/electric and full hookup sites. A few sites are pull-thru, but the majority of sites are back in. 30/50 amp with a fire pit and a picnic table at each site. The resort offers campers a campground store, paddle boat rentals, row boat rentals, pedal cart rentals, a tennis court, a basketball area, on-site propane, a pavilion with two grilling areas, a bathroom/shower facility with a laundromat, two catch-and-release lakes (the West lake is small and the East Lake is somewhat larger with beach access that has a volleyball area, grills, and a snack shack), a sand volleyball area, wifi, and a dump station. Pet friendly with common-sense basic rules. No tent camping.Upon arrival, registration is required at the office followed by an escort to a designated site. Sites are somewhat tight, but fine for shorter stays. Gravel sites with no grass between. Daily and overnight guests allowed (no more than six - $5 per person overnight and $2 per person daily.) Guests register at the office and obtain car tags. Check with office prior to going to the beach area, as it may be gated and locked (the beach and the snack shack on the beach were not open during our August visit - questioned the office and they open it upon request.) Bathroom/shower/laundry facility accessible by obtaining a key card from the office only for $10 deposit. Decent walking/biking on roads around the park and the East lake.

We had a great time camping at Sycamore RV Resort this past weekend. It was our first campground in our new to us POP- UP. We joined our friends who regularly visit this campground. It has 2 small ponds you can walk around and is small, perfect size for kids! The facilities were very clean! We only visited the bathrooms but they were very clean and well stocked! We had so much fun, it was clean, easy access, and quiet! I noticed there wasn't many people put at night, didn't notice really any other campfires at night and we stayed on a weekend. It was very quiet but peaceful! We will definitly be back!Nearby activities: Ponds to swim in! Tennis courts, sand volleyball, pickleball/,volleyball courtWalkability: Easy access around the campground.

Went in the office season, so it wasn't crowded. Property is well maintained, and the area was beautiful with fall colors.

Charming, well kept, great location. My wife & I love this park. The piece is very reasonable for what you get. We have the middle tiered slip for our 5th wheel. Water, sewer, 50amp. Really wide spots. Decent water pressure. The day we arrive, one of the owners escorts us to our slip. Literally the easiest time backing into a spot ever. He just says turn the wheel left/right, forward backward. Perfectly in the spot in 3 mins. I m not even kidding. Saved me probably 20 mins of getting it just right. My wife and I love taking the doggo for a walk around the trail that circles the lakes. It s in l a small town west of Chicago. But there s so much here. I can ride my bike to the gym. Grocery store is less than 10 minutes. Bars and restaurants.Never want to leave

Very poor understanding owners. An owner visited our site at 9:00 PM and questioned and disrespected my disabled mother who uses a rug as not to trip on the rough terrain. He cared more about the grass than her ability to navigate the space on his property. He questioned her disability asking how did she get to the place she s at? when there s a literal wheelchair on the site. 0/10. Do not recommend.

After reading a recent review stating they stayed for one night while passing through, I messaged to stay for a night when visiting family in Sycamore just to clarify for anyone reading reviews they do NOT let you book one day on a weekend. We have a 2-night minimum for weekend stays so unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate your request. Just FYI to save you time.

We stayed 2 nights at Sycamore RV Resort and found everything perfect. They met us at our car and escorted us to the spot. We had a beautiful view of the larger lake and were able to take a walk around the lake on the gravel road. The park was quiet and well taken care of. I highly recommend visiting this park if you are looking for a peaceful camping experience.

We've stayed at Sycamore RV Resort three times. Each stay has been pleasantly different. We have enjoyed walking the trail around the lake, exploring downtown Sycamore, biking the Great Western bike trail and relaxing at the campground. The campground offers a picturesque setting to enjoy sunrise and sunset. Dale and Anita are great hosts who do a professional job of keeping their campground a nice place to stay. Looking forward to going back soon.

Spent a week here in our 5th wheel visiting family over Easter. We are full timers who have stayed in many campgrounds/resorts over the past 2 years. We really liked that there was green space at the campground. The ponds & walking trails were lovely. Sycamore is the historic town that my family is from & we liked that we could easily walk into town & the library. Our site contained a fire ring & picnic table, the laundry was clean, & it was nice to be escorted to our site. The owners were not overly friendly/welcoming initially, but on our last day they actually smiled & talked to us. The campground seemed to have 3 sections: full timers (kind of rough), nice grassy lake side sites, & the gravel parking lot where we stayed. Road into campground was very rutty & tight for bigger rigs. We felt the price was higher for what available in the off season. Even though we are self- contained, we would have liked that the showers & bathrooms were opened. WiFi was spotty so ended up disconnecting. Our greatest disappointment is that there were so many rules/fees for visitors. The main reason we stayed here was to be close to relatives over Easter, but felt nickel & dimed to have them visit us here for what we paid.

The owners keep this place like a shiny penny. Very neat and organized. There is a swimming lake that is so clear you see the fish swimming in it. A graveled path around the big lake. (there are two) Places to picnic, pedal cars, canoes and kayaks. The Great Western bike trail extension just got finished and winds up next to the park. It's absolutely wonderful for biking/hiking. We went out to the county line and visited a produce farm. On the way back, picked apples off of a tree on the trail. It's very quiet, the yearly folks are friendly also. The town of Sycamore is like a Norman Rockwell painting. Farmers markets, car shows, always something going on. The Sycamore Speedway is just up the road for stock car enthusiasts. All in all, really like the place.

June 30-July 4, 2023. Fun times as always. Scheduled a late check-in on Friday. Dale's son-in-law, CJ, gave us the go ahead to self-check in after the office was closed. Our papers were taoed to the office door and we drove ourselves to our RV site as per CJ's instructions. The 4th of July crowd is rowdier than the usual campers so this was expected. Fun times, nevertheless. Thankful that Dale and Anita continue to host us and accommodated our request for our favorite site.Fantastic! Stayed at this gorgeous place from 5/21 -5/23, 2021. Dale met us at the gate (office is closed for precaution agains CoVid19). He guided us to our spot which was overlooking the lake. Privately owned and very well-maintained. We were reminded that they don't cater to the partying crowd which is perfect because we get away from the city for this very purpose. We camp to unplug, rest and relax...slow the pace down to re-center ourselves. Firewood is available for purchase on-site.This place is quiet, clean and has everything to guarantee a safe and relaxing weekend. It has 2 lakes filled with fish (catch and release only). One lake has a perimeter trail that allows you to cruise around in your vehicle or in our case we took our bikes. We look forward to our next visit.May 28-29, 2022Memorial Day weekend promised a full campsite. Met some friendly neighbors next to us. It was a dog lover's weekend as a lot of campers brouhh their fur babies with them. We rented a boat for the first time (this is our 6th visit here as i recall to the best of my ageing memory). The owner, Dale, provided us with flotation devices and 2 oars forth the row boat of our choice. Boating inly allowed between daylight hours. This place is as beautiful as always.Nearby activities: Bike trails, boat rental, fishing, mini golf, driving range, go karts, Sycamore Speedway.Safety: Everyone drove cautiously though the property.Walkability: Food and stores are within walking distance, about a quarter mile from the office.

The park is clean and quiet. The walking trail around the lakes are great for walking your dog. Dale and Anita do a marvelous job. Within walking distance of downtown Sycamore and the Great Western Trail.

Great stop off on our way to the Baha'i House of Worship, in Evanston, IL. So easy to get to Chicago from here. The lakes-walk is lovely and the rv sites are nicely set. Brilliant bathhouse & laundry facility, & all is well-maintained.The small town swells exponentially over the week of Halloween for their carnival, crafts booths & parade.

Hello,My first time out with my trailer I was so surprised that Dale must be his name guided my trailer perfect. The office personal were very nice. I bought a couple of bundles of wood they dropped it off by the supplied fire ring. If you stick to the rules it's a awesome getaway. Thank you for your assistance and a great resort. Loved swimming in the pond and the beach.

We have stayed at Sycamore for both a short stay and a long stay (the6 1/2 months there went by way too quickly). Sycamore RV Park was highly recommended by a friend. Our experiences there both times were excellent. Dale and Anita work very hard to ensure their park is safe and clean. I read several reviews that complained about the rules. Those reviewers must not understand that rules exist for the safety of all and are not at all unreasonable, common sense actually! We were able to receive package delivery there which was also a big plus since we are full timers. The park entrance road is easy to miss so pay close attention when arriving on the first visit. We will be back again because our grandsons love fishing, swimming, tennis, and riding the yellow bikes! Excellent campground for family fun! Thank you, Dale and Anita!

Had a nice stay at the campground. It is well kept and maintained. Lots were easy to set up on and utilities were easy access. Lake was nice too. Price was reasonable.However.... If you're looking for a "resort" type campground, I wouldn't say this is it. Guess my idea of a resort is more elaborate than the way its defined by others. The lots are kinda close together and not real roomy, especially if you have a large rig.And the owner... well, I think he's a nice guy really, just needs to make people feel more welcome is all. Guess maybe he's encountered too many rude and picky RV people...

We stayed here for a month during September. We were a little skeptical because of the reviews but we were proved wrong. We had a wonderful stay. The owners, Anita and Dale, are quiet but extremely helpful and friendly. There are 2 ponds that have trails around them to walk the dogs, laundry facilities are clean and I felt very safe during our stay. My favorite part was how close it was to downtown Sycamore. I walked there almost everyday which was such a treat! My one complaint was that our RV faced our neighbor which meant we had to share a fire pit. They never used it so it was ok but it would have been a pain if we couldn't use it at our leisure.Other than that, I would definitely come back!

Sycamore RV Resort was absolutely perfect for us. Very clean and well maintained grounds. We actually really enjoyed the gravel sites because it made the mosquitoes nearly nonexistent. The lakes were so clear and full of fish. Our kids were easily kept busy with the plentiful bluegill and crappie, while the adults caught many bass. The beach was also clean and fun for the wife and kids. Not sure how anyone could complain about the hosts, they were both very kind and helpful. Each to their own I guess. O yeah, and my buddy and I landed this monster carp in the picture! Camp on friends!
