I had all my steering components, 4 tires, and an alignment done. Car with almost 200K rides like a brand new Cadillac. Pricing was very close to my estimate and I'm very happy with the results for the money. I'm new in town and after getting hosed at tire tracks, and Jay's tire tried to rip me off I'm glad there are respectable, honest shops in town.

I'm thrilled to have been referred to Hombaker. I moved to Streator from Chicago's NW suburbs two years ago, and have dealt with a couple other local mechanics since then that did not impress me.A local friend who has lived in Streator most of his life referred me to Hombaker. They went through everything carefully. The story with my Chevy pick up is that I bought it used ten years ago, and every time I get it serviced, it would run great for a little while and then the same old problem of running rough would come back. No one had gotten rid of it completely in all this time, and I tried a few mechanics who all had different diagnoses or solutions.Well, the mechanic at Hombaker inspected it and decided that what had been missing was good old fashioned TLC and labor to get all the various parts and surfaces machined to be perfectly smoothed, deep cleaned to remove caked-on gunk, etc. He took things apart individually and did what needed to be done from the beginning; apply elbow grease. Just hearing him explain it demonstrated how much he cares about getting the job done RIGHT. We're running like a champ now.On top of that, they wouldn't promise ahead of time they'd have time to get it done before the weekend when I wanted it...but they pushed hard and finished late on a Friday just to accomodate me! Then, I said terrific, I'll ride my bike over now. The kind woman on the phone said, "but it's raining! I can't let you do that. I'll send a guy over to your house to come get you."Think that's all?! Nope! She offers me a free hoodie! Hahaha, I say. No one ever has my size: XXL. She had several in my size AND they had XXXL's, too! They got you covered! I could just tell from the vibe in their office that they all like working together and that's always a great sign of a good, fair business. They will be getting all my business now.

Hombaker Automotive has been an absolute pleasure to work with! There's not a better shop in the area in my opinion. Service, customer service, and professional. I also prefer family oriented businesses over the corporate ones too. I'm super lad I found this place! Highly recommend!!!

excellent troubleshooting skills.. the diagnostic tool was saying one thing... with an expensive part and repair, but the the thermal imager and other symptoms said it was wrong.. he followed the problem like.. someone who actually knows how systems work and interact (as opposed to folks who just read the three ring binder and rely on the diagnostic computer) and found and fixed the purely mechanical fault for much less than half what the diagnostic computer was pointing to.. (which wouldnt have fixed the problem anyway) IE this was a mechanic , not a 'trained by the franchise 'technician' and applied experience and time and logic ... excellent service, Will definitely take my car here for any work that needs doing. Oh yes.. friendly, listens to the customer , decent waiting room and good counter staff.

Wonderful experience. I live 1 1/2 hour away and was in Streator for an event. Our vehicles starter failed at 4pm on Friday. I called Hombaker's and they said they could repair it Saturday morning. It was done by 10am. They could have taken advantage of me since I was stuck, but they did not. Prices were extremely fair. Great service and honesty, which is getting harder to find these days.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Absolutely wonderful experience! Air went out hottest week of the year. They were able to get my vehicle fixed quickly and for a reasonable price. They went above and beyond to make it happen and I appreciated it more than I can say. Awesome work and wonderful customer service. Thank you all so much.

I won't go anywhere else! They have worked on both me and my boyfriends vehicles. So reasonable, professional, and honest. Have had shocks, struts, oil changes, steering alignments, new tires put on, all kinds of stuff done. Love this shop! These guys are great! I've been getting service done at Hombaker's going on 10 years or more, and not only have they always been very friendly and helpful, but most importantly, they always do the job right the first time. I always recommend them to my friends and family. Fair and reasonable rates too!

Called in the afternoon, took my car in the next morning and it was finished by noon! Other places I've taken my car for minor issues have taken days to do the work. This was amazing! Will definitely be going to them for my auto repair needs in the future!

Hombaker Automotive is the best! They do quality work and at reasonable.prices. We have taken our fleet of work vehicles to them and we appreciate the attention to details that the whole team @ Hombakers give. They have done both large and small jobs for us.They are super efficient with getting.your vehicle up and running and back to.you in the shortest time possible. They explain things and are very thorough. They are the best shop hands down. Jim, Theresa, and the whole team have been a pleasure to do business with. Theresa can mix up some great Keto drinks while you wait too!!

We don't go anywhere else, they tell you right, they fix it right. Very honest, reliable and ethical business and owners. We've not only had all of our cars serviced there, we also have purchased tires and other items through them. Highly recommend not only their business, but the Christian owners as people and asc community supporters.

My wife drives a 97 Honda Prelude. I washed it the on Sunday and drove to buy gas for the car. I noticed a loud exhaust noise. On Monday I called for an appointment and today we dropped the car off and as promised the car was ready and repaired. We are totally satisfied with their work. Every time I call for a quote they never get back to me. I've tried 4 times to give them my business and they apparently don't want it. I've never been a customer so can't comment on their work but I've never had the chance to be a customer cause they won't call back!

Called to see if they had time to work on exhaust for my camry. They got me in that same day and out the door in less than an hour!They are also extremely friendly both on the phone and in person.

Normally I do all my own repairs but if it is something I can't or don't want to do I go to Hombaker's because I know the job will be done right the first time. I have had work done on my wife's Maxima and my Corvette both within the last 2 weeks and as always I am totally happy with the results. Thanks Jim and Theresa.

So, my car had an oil leak, thank god my boyfriend is a mechanic or else i probably would ve blown my car up. Anyways he told me to take it to the place i usually go for my car problems which is Schimmer in peru. Called that Saturday set up an appointment. My boyfriend told me it was the oil filter housing that was leaking so i made sure to tell them, that s exactly what it is. Took it on Monday, they said we just know much about this car so we would have to tear it apart to find the leak AFTER I TOLD THEM WHAT IT WAS. Anyways, i remembered my parents had taken their car to a place in streator. Found out it was this place. Called them, they said you can drop it off tomorrow in the morning and i can look at it, and even have it fixed for you. I was like SIGN ME UP. He looked at it, told me that was the problem (filter housing) gave me a price, i said fix it. Got my car back that afternoon. All i can say is TAKE YOUR VEHICLES HERE! Don t play games with dealerships, they are so money hungry it s not even funny. This guy and his workers KNOW what they re doing and talking about. I will always recommend this place now.

I always go to Hombaker's for my car work. They are incredibly polite and always go above and beyond to help me with my car. Jim has even come in on his days off to help me! They're worth every penny!

The Hombakers are very honest, top notch mechanical care for your auto. I have a Kia Soul & my hubby has a Chevy Avalanche truck. We go to them for oil changes, any mechanical issues and tires.

best shop in Streator, recently had some suspension work done. Couldn't be happier. Jim is a great guy and they have really great prices. Definitely will go back next time I need any work done.

Will tell you one price for services, then do extra things without asking. So they can charge you for more. Plus steals things out of you car or truck. Not very professional for a small town business. May appears nice buyer beware.
