Tom and his team are experts in rebuilding transmissions . I have had 2 trucks trans rebuilt have been perfect. Highly recommend this shop honest people

Tom and his team were wonderful! I dropped off my van on Tuesday and it was done by the following Tuesday! Driving it home was like night and day! My trans was finally fixed and didn't cost me an arm and leg! The dealer wanted to charge me 11k for new trans and 8k for a rebuild! Tom and his team were affordable and totally worth it!! Tom was upfront about everything from the get go. Definitely recommend them and will be using them in the future if needed. Fingers crossed I never have to.Service: Transmission

Called after I was having clutch issues with my classic truck. I utilized their tow service which was professional and very well priced. When inspecting my truck, they discovered a loose pressure plate and were able to repair without parts. Very honest and well done work here. These guys are great! Tom always goes above and beyond to make sure his transmissions are completely rebuilt and not just repaired. No add on charges because everything is included in the up front quote. The 3 year 36,000 mile warranty shows they stand behind there work. Thanks again!

I would give them 10 stars if I could....Our van broke down on a Thursday afternoon 140 miles from home. When calling for a tow truck they recommended Certified Transmission. We were only going to be in the area until Sunday so we were quite concerned how we were going to get home if we had to leave the vehicle in IL. Friday morning the vehicle was towed to Certified and we were back on the road by Saturday late morning! I can not express my gratefulness for the quick turn-around and reasonable price....I only wish they were nearer to home so that I could give them all my business!

Tom rebuilt my transmission, the part feeding into the transmission went bad and contaminated the transmission fluid causing the transmission to malfunction within a week or two. Tom rebuilt the transmission again at no cost to me. It works great! I was very satisfied as I appreciate quality, honesty and integrity.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

I brought my car in about two years ago because the car was shacking when I was driving on the expressway. I was told by Tom that my transmission was bad and needed it to be rebuilt. They had my car for over a week telling me it would take that long to rebuild the transmission. My transmission went out again and the shop I took it to this time told me that the last place that rebuilt my transmission didn't totally rebuild it they only replaced some worn out parts and that there were a lot of the original parts still in the transmission. Tom at certified charge me $2500 for a rebuilt trans that wasn't totally rebuilt and I have the parts to prove it. The other place rebuilt my trans for a lot less and it's done the right way. I'll never recommend anyone to Certified Transmission. I've had to pay twice for something that should of been done right the first time. If I could give them less than a star I would. Very dishonest people there.

Took them over a week to check it, and they only looked at it for 10 minutes. After, they couldn't give me an estimate at all. Said $900 to drop trans and then give estimate later. Not doing that. They decided to charge me for diagnostic which probably took them 10 minutes. Tom said they only scanned OBD and drove car. Tom was very unpleasant to talk to after he found out I won't be taking their service. and was only kind in person because I reluctantly agreed to pay diag. Wouldn't recommend. Plenty of other trans shops in the area.EDIT* When I argued with them on the phone about diag, Tom said "you wanna give me a tough time?" In a very rude manner. Forgot to mention this. Please read below if you are considering their business.*****THEY REPLIED SAYING THEY PLACED IT ON A RACK BUT IN PERSON THEY VERBALLY TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT PUT IT ON THE RACK AND EVEN LOOK FOR LEAKS OR UNDER THE CAR!!! THEY ARE LYING!!!! ALL THEY SAID WAS THEY DROVE IT AND DIAGNOSED THE CODES WHICH I DID MYSELF AT AUTOZONE, FOR FREE AND THIS TAKES TWO MINUTES! THEY DID NOT EVEN TELL ME WHAT CODES SHOWED UP! THIS WAS SAID VERBALLY AND DIAGNOSTIC PRICE WAS NOT MENTIONED AND ONLINE IT SAYS FREE, THEY SAY THAT IT REQUIRES HEAVY KNOWLEDGE BUT THEY PROCEEDED TO NOT TELL ME ANYTHING UNTIL I SPEND $900 TO DROP THE TRANS. THEY PREY ON PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT TRANSMISSION BECAUSE IT IS COMPLEX! THEY WILL OVERCHARGE!!!!Service: Transmission

So I was driving up to Wisconsin to visit my parents. I am from the south suburbs of Chicago. My car broke down was referred to Certified Transmission Specialist. They came and got my car. Fixed it and it was done when they said it would be!!! My car is running fantastic!! These people are so amazing. Thanks for the good work!! I highly recommend them! Far price too!

First, I'll say that I did not utilize their services and cannot speak to the quality or turnaround time of their work. I did call for a quote to install a clutch in my truck (I already bought the clutch) and was told that they will not install clutches purchased elsewhere.For those looking into having a clutch installed, that you've already purchased, you will want to look elsewhere.

Scammers that simple told rebuild my trans never did went for warranty, because had same issue as to why took it in originally, was told by tom "oh no I've never heard that noise from a trans before and ive been doing this for" so many odd years, took it to a real trans shop, come to find out they told me was axle. Being same concern from before i asked that trans shop to open mine and diagnose anything bad, sure enough everything was original, so considering i paid 1,700 and still called it a discount for just an axle, and still tells me I'll get new trans and put that one in if does not fix issue you pay me another trans and labor I can see why he was so confident, surprised still in business and dont have more complaints like this. Tom tries steering the conversation his way tries to make you believe his lies and gives run around going back to same thing repeating once and once again till you kinda just don't want to talk to him anymore, annoying factor actually, luckily trusted my gut and knew something was not right. Hope no one else falls victim. Should be 0 stars or maybe even -5.

Bad experience! Returned vehicle TWICE. Had to rent vehicle at my cost to cover their lack of competence. No offer to compensate me, just excuses. No hours posted on door or website. Vague answers on how long for inspection and final repairs. Besides being closer than another company, nothing good to report.
