Came in for a tune-up and rotor and brake pads. MPG went down right away. Brake pads left awful black sooty dust. And rotors started wobbling within a few months. Less than 10,000 on rotors and pads and had to get them replaced again, nearly 500.00. Never going back there.

They take the stress out of auto repairs! Different from lots of bigger cooperations, they re just nice people looking to get your car fixed and have you on your way. Very fast work as well, both the times I ve taken my car in they ve had it out within 3-4 hours! These people are the real deal and I ll continue to come back to them and recommend them to friends! Also extremely affordable!

Fine work at a decent price, but make sure they do not do things that you did not approve. Came in for one issue, and they replaced one spark plug without asking beforehand. The spark plugs had already been replaced less than a year ago, and any mechanic should know that you don't replace one spark plug... So I had to buy a whole new set of spark plugs (that did not need to be replaced to begin with ) and install myself since the engine starting rough idling due to them putting in one new plug. Just common sense guys

Great place and great service, We took my family s Van in for a repair and it was done in 5 hours other than 5 days like a normal shop. I would recommend

It was the day after Christmas, I was broken down at a rest stop with a dead alternator, and waiting all day for a tow. O'Dell's closed at 3:00 that day, (and everyone already had holiday plans anyway) but I called them that morning and they were willing and able to squeeze me in, despite having an already full docket of cars to work on.I am from Texas and I was visiting family in Michigan, so being broken-down in Springfield Illinois was a bit of a crisis for me, but they understood and took my car in at 2:45, and got it back to me by 4:00. They didn't have to do this, but it was such a blessing that they did. And now my car runs better than it has in years. Apparently a bad alternator causes more issues than just getting it to start.I highly recommend O'Dell's Auto Service, and would gladly go to them again if I happen to find myself with car issues in Springfield Illinois.I made it to Michigan and back to Texas, and my car is still running smooth. Not even so much as a hiccup.Thank you all, so very much.

Absolutely truly honest people. My son bought a used car and it needed a water pump they were honest enough to tell me that they will never get into that again with this make model and year. There are plenty of garages out there that will try, charge, and hope it works out. Nothing better than an honest mechanic. Thank You for that ..

I have taken my cars to them for over 15 years. They are honest and will tell you exactly what is going on and if the car is worth fixing. They have no reason to do otherwise. Very trustworthy.

Took our van there cause it was overheating. They say it was the "engine oil coolant hose" So we paid $700 to get it fixed. When I picked up our van it wasn't over heating anymore but it had ticking coming from the engine our van has never ticked before we took it there. 2 weeks pass our check engine light comes on code reads oil pressure low etc. Called them and think they would say ok bring it in we will have a look at it. But nope they say they didn't do it. I'm not here to make any business look bad but all I wanted was our van fixed the right way now me and my family of 6 have to either get a new car or be without one.

I usually don't give reviews bad or good however, I had to this time. I have now sent three vehicles to O'Dells and each time the work has been excellent. Those that know me know how I feel about my vehicles, I have five. As far as pricing goes; They have been better than all the places I have taken them to for the same issues. My thing is "give me a correct diagnosis and fix my S#!+". My vehicles have been to several establishments and O'Dells is who I trust. I'm not done yet as I am working on putting a vehicle back together. My beautiful IROC, It just needs work. Hope to see O'Dells soon regarding this vehicle.

We have bringing them multiple vehicles for several years. They are easy to work with. They are trustworthy and back up their work. We had a vehicle that had a starter problem and they fixed it at no charge(parts/labor) even though it was 2 months past the warranty. We also purchased a used vehicle from them and when we suspected an issue and they quickly offered to fix at no charge - no questions asked. Their staff is friendly and very helpful. They take the stress out of auto repairs.

I was referred to Odell's by my former boss years ago like 7 at least. And they not only take care of my issues even a new rear end at pretty unreal prices they beat a major engine estimate for my mom by 500.00! No joke I won't go anywhere else. And WAY TO GO Wes!!! Another Nationals win we were there.

Looking for a place to trust? Go here. I was a single women who knew nothing. My explorer started having trouble at 130,000. O'Dell's was recommended to me. I brought the explorer in, and they explained everything to me. I was allowed to go in the shop and see the issue. I was told exactly what the part was, how to look it up for myself and compare. I trust this shop completely and have been going to them since 2012 without one single issue. Now my husband and our friends go. Again, not one issue ever. Their motto, if we are out we want people to buy us a beer, not throw it on us!

Had issues with my A/C and was in town for only a day - first shop was busy but gave me an estimate of $200. They told me to try O'Dells and by luck they worked me in and fixed the problem and only charged me under $40. They knew I was out of town and was in a rush and could have taken me for a lot more but thankfully they are Honest. Nice to find honest business still. Thanks

Stop here and the "Luck of the Irish" shall definitely be with you! I was headed to Texas pulling a 12' trailer loaded to the gunwhales with a used Dodge Caravan I had just purchased less than a week before. Just north of Springfield, I noticed an odd noise on deceleration, which was getting notably louder. I stopped at a nearby parts store around 6 PM and asked if there was a shop they could recommend, and they steered me to O'Dell's. Though they were closed, I stopped by before they opened the next morning. The boss told me there was no way they could get to it- that is- until I told him I was on my way to Texas with my pets in the van. "Let me see what I can do," he said.He sent a hard working mechanic who was in the shop early on a drive along with me. "That IS a weird noise," the mechanic said. We headed to the shop, he lifted the van with a floor jack in the lot, and then immediately noticed: "Your lug nuts are loose!" Another shop could have told me to wait, put it on a lift, lied to me and charged me big, but these guys got me back on the road and declined even taking any payment. I offered the mechanic $20 though, which he declined and then reluctantly took after my insisting he do so.There's a reason their lot is always full...these guys are good- and honest!

They were really friendly told me the car I was about to buy had a new engine in it meaning a different one and four days later it locked up on me. They towed it back and replaced it with another one for free that one lasted a month then the rod bearings made it knock and know it won't run

Straight forward honest North end service and folks. I brought a 94 ford probe that I was trying to salvage out of storage and they took care of my rusted break lines quickly and affordably. They even ran a diagnostics on an idling problem I was having and gave me a few ideas with no extra charge. O'Dells is my go to garage on the north end of Springfield!

I have been going there for nearly 20 years. You can't find it advertised anywhere. You only hear about it by word of mouth. They hold Christian values. They are honest with you. They are cheaper than most if not all of their competition. They say, if you find a good mechanic, never leave him. Enough said!

Doesn't feed you bull. Tells you what you need when you need it. Checks what you ask to be checked. If I could recommend an area for improvement, I wish they would do everything you ask them to do, even if them not doing it saves you a few hundred. In an effort to save time and money, they simply resurfaced my rotors instead of replacing them as I had asked. Other than this slight issue, highly recommend!

Transmission went out in my car and I called all over town getting prices for a rebuild or putting in a used or new transmission and everyone was $2500-$3500. Happened to find a used transmission at a junk yard called these guys to see how much it would be to put it $600!!!! Got my car done almost 2 days ahead of the promised date also. I don't care what issue you have with your car if these guys say they can fix it take it to them, I'll never take my cars anywhere else.
