Mic and Amanda are the best. They treat everyone fairly and are helpful- even when they don t get the job. Mic and his crew are very competent and fix the transmissions better than the factory. In full disclosure, they have fixed any of my cars, but everything I said is still true.

Excellent service and prices. They quoted me a very reasonable price to fix my transmission. When they went to do the work, they found that they could unfreeze a part instead of replacing it, so they ended up charging me less than the quote. When I picked up my truck, they showed me the crack in the part they replaced that was causing the leak. I highly recommend them.Service: Transmission repair

If I wrote the entire experience I had with my van's failed transmission, Google would ban me from writing reviews ever again. I am delighted that report that the whole ordeal had a happy ending, and I can't thank Irwin's enough for their absolutely stellar customer experience throughout the process. I was impressed with the honesty in our interactions from the very first call to get an estimate, and by the time we got our van back, I was ready to hire them for anything from auto service to estate planning. However, I waited to see how well the repair would hold up before writing my review. It's now been two months and I'm incredibly pleased with how smoothly it's running. There's been no issues other than some pain at the pump now that our comfortable ride is back on the road! Thank you SO much, Irwin's Transmission! I sure hope I don't need your services for a while...but until I do, I will be sending friends and family your way!

I pass through Springfield very frequently. I stopped for dinner and my truck would not go into gear. I finally got it into first and limped it to Irwin's after hours. They took a look at it right away and concluded the trans was ok but the control unit was throwing bad codes causing the trans to not shift. He was right. they did not charge me nor try to sell me something I didn't need. Very honest! They will be my first stop if I ever have transmission issues in Springfield again.Service: Transmission

I recently had my transmission rebuilt by these guys and they were awesome! I told them I was heading for Florida in a couple days so they wanted me to drive the car around for about a hundred miles and come back so they could check things out. So I did and when I returned they found something that wasn't right. They asked if I could wait while they addressed the issue. Gary, the owner, kept me company while I waited and when they got done I was so happy to hear them say no charge! The car ran great on the way to Florida...thank you so much for your hard work!

This shop is awesome. We were having transmission problems and were referred to Irwin by Wilkerson s. As soon as we pulled in they were accommodating and looked at the car immediately. They were so nice! As soon as they knew what the problem was, they told us to make sure our car still wasn t covered under warranty. We thought this was an exceptional display of integrity and honesty on their part. They definitely did not have to tell us about that. They also let us keep our car in their lot for a few days while we figured it all out. If our car wasn t still covered, this is the place I d be happy to be. Nobody is ever happy when their car breaks down - especially when it s the transmission - but we will be happy from now on knowing we have a place in town we know we can trust!

I was told by another mechanic that my 2000 Dodge Dakota needed a new transmission. Before junking the otherwise decent truck, I called Gary, and he said to bring it in as the symptoms did not sound like a mechanical issue.He found the Speed sensor was bad, and happened to have one on the shelf. Very reasonable price, very friendly and great customer service.Very glad to have the truck back in working order

Very professional experience from the initial phone call until the time I picked up my repaired transmission. Staff is very experienced and knowledgeable and the price was the best in the entire area. I was updated multiple times during the whole process. I highly recommend these guys and they will get all my future transmission disasters.

They rebuilt my 4L60E out of my '05 Chevy Silverado over 2 years ago still shifts as good as the day I got it they got me in sooner than they said they would best price in town and best warranty in town 3-year or 100,000 miles I called everybody. Highly recommend them

Took car in because I thought I had transmission problems after getting my transmission rebuilt from previous owner a few years ago. Checked out my car for free and took out cruise control cord which was completely torn and fixed immediate problem until we was able to get it fixed. Thank you!!!

I had recently bought a new car and had some concerns. I brought it in and these guys are the friendliest. I'm not knowledgeable on cars, but they took the time to explain what concerns they had. They not only checked my car, but followed up a few weeks later to make sure I still wasn't having any problems. Great customer service. Would highly recommend!

We had a transmission rebuild on one of our work trucks. The new part failed and they got the truck back in and rebuilt the transmission again at no additional cost. Fair price and good work. I would highly recommend them.

After getting the run around from Green Hyundai (they had my SUV for a month) someone suggested I get my transmission fixed elsewhere. I called a couple of garages, one never called me back and the other said they send all their transmission work to these guys. I called them and had a quote within the hour. They gave me the number of a tow company that got my car across town fast and cheap. The part was ordered on Monday and was to be delivered on Thursday or Friday. I assumed I would get it the following Tuesday or Wednesday. Nope! They called Friday morning and said it was done. Fast, friendly, and my transmission has a one year warranty for parts and labor.

I was so glad to meet Gary at the shop who responded to the problem on my car with confidence, kindness, and great support from his team. No diagnostic fee on inspection and test-drive. I will definitely visit the shop when I have another transmission issue agian. Thank you so much!

I could not recommend Irwin's enough. Those fellas are helpful, knowledgable, and forthright in their recommendations. There isn't another shop I would even consider for my transmission services.

the owner, and all his guys were great, They took the transmission out of my 06 chevy 2500hd 4x4 for a total rebuild, but only after they hooked it up to a diagnostic computer and drove it to get all the info they could, no guess work. They found a couple of other issues ( worn flywheel teeth and worn starter drive gear ) while they had it apart and called me right away to keep me informed and make suggestions as to the best way to take care of the problem. I already knew what to do...if its bad, replace it while its off the truck, but i really appreciated that they called me about it. My truck is back on the road, and drives very nice now.

My sons car broke down while attending college down in Springfield. We had the car towed to Irwin & Dunbar for what we thought would be a transmission issue. Once they put the car on the rack, they noticed the undercarriage to be severely corroded and unworthy of a transmission replacement. Gary called me and told me the bad news. It's honesty, integrity and professionalism like this that are missing in our world today. Gary (the owner) saved me thousands of dollars and warned me of a potentially very dangerous issue with my car. This is a trustworthy business worthy of your attention.

What I like about this place is I feel like you get straight talk and they will back up their work. My experience hasn't been about up charges and hidden fees. I will take my vehicles here every time I have an issue with a transmission.

These guys are what you're looking for. They're HONEST and HELPFUL. They helped me figure out how to save a tremendous amount of money to fix my car's transmission. Do yourself a favor and call Irwin and Dunbar first and foremost.

After they checked my car they made sure I understand what what was wrong with it. Also found some codes on it and explained those to me. Very pleased in how they worked with me. Have my car scheduled to be fixed.
