Absolutely terrible communication!I had contacted Glass Doctor in regards to replacing a $130 framed mirror that arrived shattered from Amazon during shipment. I explained to the owner that it had arrived broken and that the Amazon seller was reshipping a new mirror. I had questioned whether it was worth replacing, but if it could be done for a reasonable amount I would like to keep from throwing away a beautiful metal frame. Owner stated they agreed, I gave dimensions of mirror and owner stated it would cost $50.I dropped framed mirror off and didn t hear anything until I called 2 weeks later. Owner stated the mirror was complete and I could pick up.The following morning I went to pick up the mirror. However, owner was not present and when employee went to charge me there was no ticket on the item. The employee called the owner and after some discussion I was told it would cost $120! I stated I could have purchased a new mirror for $130 and that I had been quoted $50 initially. There was zero communication in letting me know that it would cost more than double the initial quote. Had I known I would not have had it replaced.In the end I ended up paying $75, which is still more than I had been quoted, but not the $120 they had tried to charge me.I absolutely will not do business with this company again and will not recommend any company, such as this one, that bait and switch their customers.

From the initial phone call to ask for a quote to the installation these guys were top notch! Customer service was great, installers were professional and respected my home, price was reasonable. Would definitely recommend this company.

Love my experience with this company, Bill was the guy that came out to fix my kitchen window. He was very polite, got the window replaced quickly under a hour did a great job. Thank You Bill will request you for more jobs!! I will recommend this company to family and friends very professional service.

I tried to believe the owner for 6 months the auto windshield for our specialty vehicle was ordered. After I called the manufacturer and found out the glass was not ordered, we took our business somewhere else and had a new glass installed a week after we contacted them.

They are fantastic, will not go anywhere else!! Their prices are more than reasonable, $585.00 versus $1088. at another place that has a good reputation. I am so glad I called Jason Malek, he is my car salesman and gives good advice and is in the know . Thanks Jason and Glass Doctors!!

The owner came out and gave me a quick bid, after diagnosing the problem on the phone without even seeing the damage. The window looks good and they did a nice job cleaning up their mess.

I have used Glass Doctor several times to repair windows. During the most recent repair, a mistake was made. The way that Glass Doctor came through and corrected the error locked them in as one of my favorite companies. This place was by far the best out of the 4or5 I had called to get a special piece made and I only had a couple day get it done. They had it cut it and boom next day served. As the others wanted two-theee weeks for a 23x23 cut I was son confused. With the great customer service and respect that was shown this will be one of many times I will be seeing this company again and again thanks for rushing it and making my lil boy happy on his birthday as the piece I need it was for a light up table for four year old. You guys are awesome.

They do more than just windshields, way more!I own a commercial building and needed 7 windows framed, one reframed and replaced. They gave me a very favorable price and set a schedule, weather permitting.They came as scheduled, performed all the work professionally and with a great attitude, cleaned up each day they were there. They did an outstanding job the glass and trim looks terrific . I can't say enough about how grateful I am for their excellent work. I really want to empress how professional and honest they were. My experience with the new owner of this company has been great! I am a real estate property manager and owner and have been very satisfied with their prompt service, honesty and workmanship. They do not overcharge, honor their quotes and go above and beyond! I have used their services several times throughout the past year for everything from emergency broken window and windshield replacement to installation of awesome custom glass shower enclosures and will continue to do so.

There was an accident that resulted in a broken window in our house. I googled glass replacement/repair in my area, and Glass Doctor was the top result. I can honestly see why! Glass Doctor is quick, responsive, and a great value. The person that I spoke to on the phone was extremely nice, and was able to squeeze me in for a repair. The man who came to fix my window was also a very nice person. They both were professional and courteous. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I don't usually give reviews, but after reading the negative ones provided for this company from previous years to now, with the new management and employees, I feel that it is only fair that these guys get the recognition they so deserve! They have treated us with the utmost respect, courtesy, and professionalism that a company should! Josh has driven the hour drive (one way), often times after hours, to guarantee our satisfaction in the workmanship and quality of their products. And as for the cost of our bathroom remodel, no other quotes we received even came close to theirs!! I would HIGHLY recommend Glass Doctor and their staff for all your glass needs!!!

It is so satisfying to work with such a pleasant and efficient company. Josh the owner always called and was timely. Bob, who came out, measured, surveyed and estimated the project was most pleasant. Very affordable and when the thermal pane casement window was repaired it was a very nice clean job. We would certainly recommend them and will use them for any glass work in the future.

Was driving to Chicago and got a bad window chip. Called Josh and he was super helpful and told us to stop in. Josh repaired the windshield within 30 minutes or less and he was professional and accommodating. I wish I lived closer to refer people to them. You don t find people as kind and service oriented as Josh. If you have a need I d check them out! Prices are incredibly fair too!

ALL GOOD SO FAR! I never write these reviews but in light of the bad ones the Glass Doctor has gotten below I had to let people know my experience was anything but bad.The story is this...the glass doctor did a rock chip repair for me during the summer of 2016. This past week (January 17') I got a crack (not connected to the rock chip at all) in the wind-shield. I intended to go straight back to them because of my good experience with the rock chip repair...but then saw the negative reviews on here...so I shopped around. After eliminating a few of the local glass repair places (they don't guarantee their windshields and I'm not certain if they use an OEM rated glass) I narrowed the list down to 3 vendors, one of which was the Glass Doctor...with an estimate at approximately 1/2 of what the other 2 vendors pitched me. I called them last Thursday and made an appointment for today (the following Monday). I dropped off my truck this morning and picked it up late this afternoon. When I paid my bill I found that they gave me a credit for what I had paid them on the rock-chip repair last summer! This put my bill ($186 out the door) way below half of what the other 2 places quoted me.I'm not sure what issues the other people writing these reviews have but I am very impressed with the folks at the Glass Doctor. Knowledgeable people doing clean work for a great price. They will DEFINITELY get my business in the future.

Josh was amazing! He was the only company that returned my call and came out the very same day! He had my estimate done in no time and even went above and beyond to give me an estimate on another door that wasn't in my original request. I would definitely recommend Glass Doctor to all of my friends!

I had a piece of glass cut to replace a china cabinet panel that had broken. The replacement piece was done within a day or two and worked perfectly! The customer service was great all around, from placing the order over the phone to pickup, and they were very fast!

As a contractor it's important to find quality vendors to work with. The new ownership at glass doctor is amazing. What a great experience. I was too busy to come by and pick up my small order so Josh delivered it personally on his own time so I could get the job done on time. Can't say enough about the new team . Thank Josh keep it up

I highly recommend The Glass Doctor of Central Illinois. Service was impeccable! The people were amazing to work with and very personable! But, above all else, my windshield looks amazing! Additionally, their quote came in far below the competition in Springfield, IL. My windshield started with a small rock chip, which I had "repaired" by a different company in town, about $50 and a week later, the whole windshield split along it's length, leaving a huge crack right along my line of vision while driving. I called the same place I'd had the chip repaired with and they weren't really willing to work with me. So, aggravated, I called several other companies in the surrounding area to see about the best price, The Glass Doctor was THE cheapest in the area. So, when the time came, that I was severely annoyed with the crack, and decided to get it replaced, I called The Glass Doctor without hesitation. They got me in the next day, which was prefect because I'm moving out of state and needed this to be fixed promptly! It only took about an hour and a half, which is just what he had told me for the duration! Instead of waiting for my windshield to be repaired I chose to walk down the road to get some food while I waited, they even offered to give me a ride, which, I declined because it was just a short walk, and who doesn't need exercise! But if you wanted to wait, they have a cozy office with a nice couch and a TV to pass the time. Once the car was done, I walked back, despite being offered again for a ride, and everything looked amazing. Checkout was wonderful, quick and easy!!! If you don't check out The Glass Doctor of Central Illinois, you are doing a huge disservice to yourself! Check them out, you will not be disappointed!

My husband and I chose The Glass Doctor for our custom shower door for our newly remodeled master bathroom. We were extremely pleased with the quality, professionalism and overall experience. The price was unbeatable!! We ll definitely be calling them in the future for any glass needs.

I have used them a few times for various reasons. They are always fast, do impeccable work and pay attention to detail. And the price beats any other place in town. Josh has helped us out each time and he s very personable and knows what he s doing. I believe they are under new ownership so most of the negative comments on here no longer apply to the business. Highly recommend!

Had several broken or cracked windows replaced in our home. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because this is an old house with original leaded glass windows and they were supposed to use some of the old glass from a couple larger windows to repair other smaller windows to maintain some of the leaded glass look, but they ended up putting in all new non-leaded glass in all windows. The windows look good, but it wasn't exactly done as requested. Because of this, they ran out of glass on their truck and had to come back the next day to finish one window. One the plus side, they were all very professional, polite, and did a very good job on the window replacement, while still protecting our hard wood floors while working and cleaning up afterwards. I would recommend and use this company again, but would ensure before they started that we were all on the same page with the work requirements.

I have to admit, they were about the fifth company I called, but they were the only one who would "step up to the plate" and come replace my windshield outside in the middle of winter. They provided excellent service, quick response times, reasonable prices, and were the nicest people to work with. I would highly recommend them and they already have my next glass need business when it happens.Service: Auto windshield replacement
