We had an issue while on a road trip when the panel under the engine detached. They looked at it right away and got us back on the road quickly. Excellent customer service, honest, and kind. That's very hard to find! Greatly appreciate them.

Dave was extremely helpful to me when I was buying a used car. He ran a profession scan and looked at the entire car including the bottom for me and even provided a write up on the car. With his help I ended up purchasing the car and it has worked out great.

I am soooo grateful for Dave's Auto Repair. Took my car somewhere else first, and got a pretty large quote for some work that needed to be done on my brakes. Took it into Dave's after a friend recommended them for a second opinion, and boy am I glad I did. First, it didn't need some of things the other shop I said I needed, and it was done at a fraction of the price. They also caught something needing fixed that the other shop didn't.. but they were really honest with me and told me what I needed to fix right away, and understanding my budget- told me what things could wait for a little bit. I really appreciate their transparency- and giving me suggestions on what could wait on my limited budget. An honest mechanic is so important. They also got me in really quick and fixed my car within a few hours! I will definitely use them for future mechanic needs!Service: Brake service & repair

4 months ago, I was short on time and driving to the airport when I got a flat rear tire. Stopped by at Dave's Auto Repair, asked if they can help pump up the tire ASAP. The owner immediately helped with pumping up my tire and did not even charge me...If I come back to Springfield IL for work, I will definitely use the services at Dave's Auto Repair.Service: Tires

Dave is such an amazing guy, very thorough with his work and makes sure that everything is squared away before he sets you on your way. Good prices, amazing service and support. He will let you know what needs fixing right then, and what can wait. I wouldn't have it any other way. 5 stars in my book.

Dave is a great guy and mechanic. He's honest and upfront plus his labor is cheaper than the big name's in Springfield. He put a rebuilt engine in my car and still going strong plus I got a 1 year warranty.

After 6 months of feeling like a side project and back burner customer and having to wait weeks for information or having to continually pester for information and be told info will come on said day and it never being that day I now know that the car is shredding metal into the oil. Just gave the the money snd got my car back. Will go elsewhere to see about finishing repairs. (I was incredibly patient and understanding for way longer than I should have been, six months is apparently my limit)Service: General repairs & maintenance

My brake light went out while I was leaving work, so I called around to see who could quickly change it. Dave's Auto Repair said they could, and then I held my breath for the price when I showed up.I won't write what it cost because I don't want them to be held to it in the future.Service: Brake service & repair

He has a tow company that charges $30! No matter what my issue or complaint has been, he always dives in and takes care of it. I recently had a brake pad smoking and he went above and beyond! Last week I had a ball joint going out. Not only did he do an awesome job but he didn't over charge me. I'm only going to use Dave's Auto. Seriously. He has great prices, is ASE certified, and he warranties his work with receipt. Just call. You'll see.

In the middle of a 1,000 mile roadtrip, my car started have serious problems. We called Dave's from the road and he was willing to check it out. He read the error codes, looked them up and recommended we take it to the Chevy Dealership down the road. Thanks to him, I got a replacement transmission for free (I would have never thought of taking it to a dealership). He was friendly and honest when he could have saved himself work he wouldn't get paid for. THANK YOU Dave!

Dave answered my call right away, looked at the issues I had with my car as soon as I brought it in, and explained everything in a simple and clear way. He gave me different options I could consider to take care of the issue with my car, and laid out the pro's and cons of each approach. Once I decided the direction I wanted to go, he had my car finished within 24 hours. I would definitely recommend him as a mechanic, he is a breath of fresh air after going to mechanics that I know were intentionally vague, suggest unneeded repairs, and charge huge markups on parts and way too high hourly rates.

I called in the evening to get an estimate for brake pads/rotors. He was extremely accommodating getting us in the next day. He was very good at communicating prices and what needed to be done. I will definitely use him for our future car repairs and highly recommend him!!!

Drove up to Springfield to check out a truck at a local dealer, during the test drive I brought it to Dave's to have it thoroughly checked out. He found some major problems with the vehicle that the dealership hid from me. Dave is an awesome stand up person and I am very thankful I went to see him, he saved me thousands of dollars in repairs. I can't recommend him enough.

I heard about how good Dave Auto Repair was, but apparently not with meHe was so bad of communicating with me and the update with my car , he kept my car for 3 months andNever told me one time that he couldn't work on it , every time I text him I can see he read my text but no respond. Dave and his team fixed my vechile after going to the dealership where I originally got my car from to get it fixed twice with no luck and completed the task the first time around. Dave is a honest person and he goes above and beyond to make sure you're satisfied. He has amazing prices and I am very impressed. I will reccomend everyone I know to go to Dave auto repair

Dave took my call after hours, looked at my car free of charge and told me what he thought was wrong. I went away and then called him later to see if he could take care of it the next day. He worked it out and got me in. Oh, did I mention this was on a weekend? So he worked me in on his day off on a Sunday when everybody else in town was saying Monday at the earliest? Amazing! Then since I brought the part from the local autozone en route he only charged me for the labor and it was a very reasonable price.I don t leave 5 star reviews very often because in my opinion 5= AMAZING. AND THAT IS WHAT DAVE IS!It actually took me longer to shop in the dollar general across the street than for him to work on my car.

Dave is the only one I let work on my 2009 crown Vic police.First time the front brakes and rotors. New belt and rear axle fixed (why auctioned).2nd time plugs air filter fuel filter transmission fluid/filter and coolant flushed.Will be having the water pump replaced Thursday.Quality work fairly priced by a fair man otherwise I couldn't afford it!Drive on down to 2102 south 11th Springfield before you find out what it should have cost!

I went in to fix a part of my back fender which was causing my tire degrade. Once I told him the issue he fixed it on the spot very quickly free of charge!! Wonderful customer service I will mos definitely be back for future repairs.

I have been to Dave s for several repairs, he is always straight forward about what needs to be done and why. Prices have been reasonable and turn around times quick. Exactly what I look for in an repair shop, lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

I followed Dave from his last location, he's always on time and on budget, he'll call you if finds anything unexpected.The last time I visited the shop was for my car 250k check up right before I drove to Louisiana

Very good at communicating. Was priced for a control arm very fairly since I already put one side on and it was such a pain to do. Pretty sure we'll be coming here for any car repairs

Great place for all auto repairs. Dave is the best at working with all models and makes. If Dave can't fix it. No one else can.
