We have taken our 2010 Honda Fit here for years. Friendly and very very honest. Once our car would not start, seemed like a starter or alternator to me (what do I know?) Well there was not a problem other than possible water in gas or car sitting too long. Because we were out of town, the car was at G&G for a week. When we picked it up, he refused to charge us for diagnostics. Wow.

So far it has been a pretty decent experience. They have a whole list of items to check on with just a basic oil change. I did call ahead to save a spot for myself but I managed to get in right away. Price wasn't bad for the oil change. Very reasonable for the location. Good/friendly people and locally owned/operated. First time here but I will probably come back depending on what I need next time.

Went in to have issue check with our car. They did a great job telling us the issues with the car. Really appreciate the honesty. They went above and beyond to help us understand the problem. Really appreciate having an honest fear service department in the area.

The reason I gave two stars is because of the people who work there. They are extremely respectful and friendly. Sorry, but their work is not the same, from the oil change to the cylinder head gasket, they were okay for a few months, after which each one failed again.I decided not to go there anymore, I left a lot of money without solving the problems.1. oil change - they put 5w-30 oil instead of 10w-30 full synthetic2. the front headlight, newly changed, comes out3. cylinder head gasket, the oil leaks, after 4 months it is leaking again.4. Front brakes, They changed them twice in a month, then I had to go to another mechanic because they were making a terrible noise

They've been my trusted mechanic for the past few years. They do a great job but the best part is they'll give your car a once - over to let you know of the general condition. Super helpful to know what kind of repairs are on the horizon so i can plan accordingly.I got to them for everything from car repairs to oil changes

I've been getting car repairs in Chicago for over 25 years and I can confidently say G&G is the only auto repair shop that I 100% trust with my car.Phet (the owner) is a man of integrity, which I'm sad to say is actually quite rare in this industry.I've been bringing my older cars here for the past 5 years.The only issue I have is on occasion, they're backed up with work, so I have to wait a few days or even up to a week to get my car looked at. For the most part, Phet has found a way to get me on the road as fast as possible. Highly recommend!Services: Vehicle Inspection, Auto maintenance

I had a great experience with this repair shop. They took the time to get to the root of an electrical problem with our vehicle. I truly appreciated the hard work and time they put into actually finding the problem and not just guessing, like other shops I visited. I have my 3 cars service here. A 2016 Land Rover, Toyota, and Subaru for years. They are skilled, competent, knowledgeable, honest, transparent, easy to deal with. Their price/ cost is fair. Angel and Seth are very reliable. I had a great experience and highly recommend using G&G Automotive. We came in because of weak cooling and the dreaded "Service Engine Soon" warning.Repairs were quickly diagnosed, clearly explained, and quickly completed at a fair price. Walking through the estimate I understood the logic behind Phet's recommendation and that he was practical and sensitive to cost too.Phet even followed up a couple days later to make sure we were satisfied with the repairs.Highly recommended.

Phet and his team take the time to explain your options and don't try to use scare tactics for you to move forward with repairs. They came highly recommended to us from friends and we have referred many others. My wife and I recently moved to Skokie and needed to find a reputable auto repair shop in the area. The online reviews for G & G were so positive that we opted for its service. I was struck by the genuine empathy of both Phet and Arvid when I brought our 2 Hondas for maintenance checks. It is worth noting that not only was the work done in an exemplary manner, there were no hidden costs: instead, we were told that both vehicles were in very good shape. It is an understatement to say that we have found the mechanics we needed: I recommend G & G with the highest of all possible accolades.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Have used them in the past and service and workmanship was good. This past week scheduled appointment for 8 am in advance for rear brake job, coolant flush and tranmission fluid maintenance. 4.5 hrs later no information about my truck. Called and told that truck was taken to Evanston (without notification) but had no status on vehicle and would call back. Another 1/2 hr goes by, still no call back. So called the garage again. Still no information and told would call back in 5 minutes with status on the truck. Another half hour goes by and after 2 unanswered calls to garage. Mechanic in Evanston calls and still has no estimate on work to be done. Took truck back will never have work done there again. Was told lift could not handle weight of truck but had work done at skokie shop before. Was told work only guaranteed to be finished by end of the day. But 5.5 hrs later still no estimate on cost of work. Could have taken vehicle elsewhere. Will never use g&g again.

Went in for my 1st time today looking for a quick oil change and was not disappointed. Setting an appointment with fast and easy and Jaylene from customer service was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Turn around time was incredibly fast and performed within the time estimate given. I would highly recommend this shop to anybody in the area.

G&G (and Phet in particular) is amazing. When my car broke down Phet was in touch every day to explain what was wrong with it and how the repairs were going, and he takes the time to explain it in a way that even I, with very little car knowledge, can understand. They are completely honest in their work, very reasonable prices, and do everything in their power to get you back on the road as quickly as possible and keep you updated every step of the way. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I was so impressed with the service I received that I had to. I HIGHLY recommend G&G!

Excellent service! Wish I would have found this place years ago. Once my car was diagnosed, they took me back and showed me the problem. They were not only very knowledgeable but also very nice, and their honest feedback enabled me to make an informed decision. I highly recommend this place.

I used G&G to do a pre-purchase inspection on a private party sale. I can honestly say that they were the best auto shop I have ever dealt with. Very thorough, Proffessional and knowledgeable from both in the office and back in the shop. I wish I lived around here so I could take all my cars to G&G.

It was my first time going to G & G Automotive in Skokie let me tell you the people that work there are amazing they greeted me as soon as I came in the door they listened to every detail and they made me feel comfortable. Not like any other shops that has bad service and make you wait for a long time or charging you too much 4 car repair.To the young lady and the young man who were there thank you for a great service I will definitely recommend this to family and friends. So for those who are looking for great service and affordable price come to G & G Automotive in Skokie you won't be disappointed.

On 10/29/18 I looked up on google for reliable place to get an oil change. G & G popped up and I saw it had good reviews throughout from customers who had been serviced here. Who would ve thought that it was very close distance from home. The prices was decent for an oil change for sure I ll come back here for future service from them. Thank you guys!!!

The guys are great. They are all so nice and personable. Phet always takes the time to walk me through what is going on, gives me an honest price, and gets my car in asap. I used to work down the road and if I needed to take my car in, I would then just walk to work. Every time, Phet or one of the guys would offer to drive me and pick me up. They are so busy and the fact that they are willing to stop what they are doing to get people to their next destination, is some of the best customer service I have ever witnessed. I live in Des Plaines now and still bring my car to G&G.

I always recommend this place. The highest praise I can give them is, they are honest (and they do good work). I've been quoted much higher prices by other shops, but they get the job done at lower prices. There's truly an absence of BS when I get work done there. The main guy, Phet, is a straight shooter. That's hard to find in this industry.

I took a used truck to G and G for inspection to potentially buy it. Phet was really professional and thorough! The price was reasonable and everyone was super friendly and competent. It was a great experience. The turtle was awesome.
