Me and my father decided to stop by at Six Star Motorsports just to look at the place. We went inside and the people were super friendly with us. They were able to help us out with any questions we asked. They even gave us a small tour around the building. I will for sure want to make business with these guys in the future! I would recommend going to them for your Subaru needs.

Great shop to work with. Car came in for a full motor, turbo, fuel, and exhaust work along with other supporting mods. Project was scheduled and work was done when originally planned. I was from out of state and not able to stop in so the shop called weekly with progress updates along with photos every day the car was being worked on. Chris made me feel like I was there watching the team work on my car. Great company and will be back in the spring for some more work along with a tune. I can t say enough wonderful things about my experience with Six Star Motorsports. I especially appreciated the excellent communication throughout the whole build of my 05 STI. These guys are very knowledgeable, they know their stuff. All of the staff I came in contact with were friendly, very professional, and trustworthy. They explained every step of the build, gave me plenty of options throughout the build and weren t just trying to get me to spend money on parts I didn t need. My main point of contact was Chris and I have zero complaints, everything from start to finish exceeded my expectations; can t say enough great things about him! After I got the car home, I had a fuel leak in my surge tank (which turned out to be a manufacturer defect) the owner Sammy and one of the head techs Choch personally drove to my home to replace the surge tank and fix the issue, instead of me trailering the car back to the shop. This kind of service and dedication to their customers and their work is hard to find these days. They have gained a lifetime customer in me and I will send any Subaru their way they re the best in the Midwest!Service: Auto maintenance

Customer service has been outstanding. I reached out to these guys after purchasing a car that needed some troubleshooting. They were helpful right from the start guiding me through, then providing high quality work needed! Will definitely be a returning customer and 100% recommend!

Being from Michigan, I needed to take my BRZ to a shop that had dealt with more than just a handful of them. Six Star Motorsports seemed to have had several through their shop, I was even reassured that they had dealt with a similar setup before. Taking the car to the shop was no easy task, but it was a relief coming into such a welcoming shop. From that point on they ran several tests and double checked all my work prepping it for dyno tuning. After the tuning process, I couldn't have been any more pleased with the end results. They tuned it to my exact liking and the car feels amazing and runs great! These people here sure know a thing or two about Subaru's! Our Forester XT had an engine failure in October, and after bad experiences with local shops (which likely contributed to the failure) I decided I wanted someone who knows my car to do the work. Had Six Star build me an engine, and the work was flawless. Engine has been broken in, tune has been completed, and everything is holding up extremely well. Also had a few other things fixed/replaced by Six Star as well. Spoke with them about my experiences at other shops to find out I could have had previous work done here at a fraction of the cost. On top of that, their customer service is outstanding all around.It takes me over an hour to get to Six Star, and despite this I will be having ALL my work done here from now on. No point in getting overcharged locally for trash work when I can have actual experts do the work here for a fraction of the cost.This is the 2nd car-specific specialty shop I have worked with, and from my experience you can not beat a shop that knows your car. General mechanics just can't compete with the expertise. If you own a Subaru in the Chicago area, this is the place to go.

This is my first experience with Six Star Motorsports. I was having my tuning done by Boosted Tuning Performance (Graham) at their location. My car had just recently had a new short block put in by my local dealership. I had been having issues from day one. Weeks of fighting with the dealership to make it right. They had the car for over 13 weeks total and gave me every excuse in the book why it wasn t running right. I tell you this information because on my day of tuning with Boosted Performance Tuning at Six Star Motorsports I was having issues where my tune session had to be postponed. The guys at Six Star found the issues AND repaired it in 45 minutes. Yes you read that right. 45 minutes. My car got tuned and is running better than ever. These guys are passionate about what they do. I got a tour of the shop and some of their projects. I literally spent the entire day around this shop and saw many interactions with customers in person and on the phone. I was so happy and impressed with these guys that I got a quote for my other Subaru and will be putting it on a trailer and driving 3 hours to drop it off with them. I trust them to work on my vehicles. They have earned a new loyal customer. Thank you guys! I ll be seeing you!

Thes guys are amazing! I got my clutch replaced with them and they were rock stars and got it back to me in just a couple days. Now I m getting my center differential done with them and they were so kind and let me come in immediately to check my car and found the problem and are going to try and squeeze me in to get the job done as soon as they can. Highly recommended and are great at explaining the problem and showing you what s wrong. They are deff the best of the best.

One of the best shops, hands down. I was extremely happy with their services. Their customer service is 10/10. I received an estimate within minutes. I was updated throughout the entire process. Their work is phenomenal. I would receive photos of the work that was being done on my Subaru - step by step. I have been using Six star for couple of years now and its always top notch work. From an alignment to a full build, no job is too big for them. Does not matter if your Subaru is stock or modified, they got you covered. My 2014 hatch STI suffered the ill fated rod knock, but Six Star along with Boosted Performance brought it back to life!! What they ve done is nothing short of amazing. Chris and the Six Star team really know what they re doing and they keep you in the loop every step of they way. Not one detail was left out and whatever happened to the car, I was always informed with detailed pictures, videos, and text updates. I ve been taking my car there for most of the eight years I ve owned it. I can t say that any repair shop has made me feel as comfortable and at ease during the months of work that went into putting in a new block plus a few extra goodies. My car feels and sounds better than ever and I can t thank these guys enough for putting a smile back on my face. Just picked up my 2016 wrx from them after having a walnut blasting service and oul change done, car runs noticeable better! Better idle and start ups and smoother more responsive acceleration, knowledgeable staff they are pros when it comes to subaru platforms, highly recommend them to anyone with a subaru!

Six star reviewAt the start I was more than happy working with Six Star Motorsports on getting an engine swap for my legacy. Their communication was amazing, they were very informative, and in some areas did more than they needed to in order to help me out. Unfortunately when I picked up my car after two days of ownership, the engine started knocking. After calling six star we both agreed that the engine was faulty from the start and that I should go back to where I bought it from to get it warrantied. I was able to get my engine warrantied however six star couldn t help me with the price having to do everything all over again. I wasn t able to afford it. After communicating with another respected engine installer, he showed me how it wasn t installed correctly and explained why the incorrect installation caused it to knock. Its important to note this engine installer did also work at the place that provided me the engine. So I called six star back telling them its possible the engine wasn t installed right, and I was told that they wouldn t entertain this issue and there was no effort to look at the car in person. Six star and I did agree that there would not be a warranty on doing this service. But to pay roughly $3,000 for just the installation, using an engine company they recommended and was told they did plenty of business with, id expect them to work with me afterwards instead of having to kick rocks.Services: Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection

Excellent service & great people @6stars! i had my engine done by them this year after a rod bearing failure. Chris & Romar was able to get my car fixed sooner that i expected and helped me alot with the build. So far theyve been pretty good. Pricing is a bit overpriced. They've been able to figure out and fix most issues from another shop. UPDATE. shop looked over our car, have worked on it in the past and now just say they won't touch it. Then they shouldn't have touched it at all. Don't recommend shop. Everyone is a slacker

A true story of how 6 Star motorsports saved my Subaru's life. Buy your dream car? Awesome. Treasure it and drive it proper? Check. Random poor driver crashes into your baby? You bet. And after your insurance leaves you with some repairs not feeling right there is only one place to head; Six Star Motorsports. After some side / front damage and repair to my car I noticed some loss of power and under my (average at best) inspection noticed an exhaust leak. Quick and easy scheduling with the front desk at 6 Star made it easy to get a time slot to bring the car in. Clean front office, very friendly staff, comfy waiting area, and a well maintained shop on arrival. Under quick inspection of the car they returned and explained the issues at hand. Motor mount was split causing the engine to sag, gasket blown out from header to up pipe, and some very unprofessional clamp usage that would make any enthusiast unhappy; this is what some would call not good news but alas I was at the best possible place to address the damage. The professionals at 6 Star Motorsports explained in detail what was wrong, the parts they had in stock to fix the issue (or could order if I desired) and the time frame to get the job done. And before I knew it my car was driving better than it had in a very long time oh and did I mention for an extremely fair price? The moral of all of this is, if you drive a Subaru of any kind and want to protect and enjoy your investment there is only one shop you should bring your car to, and that s 6 Star Motorsports. These guys honestly probably care more about your car then you do and it shows with the pride they take in the work they do. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning for all my subi needs. On time, on schedule, within estimate, high quality service. Great communication as well. I went to Six Star several times, the biggest job was to get the clutch replaced on my sTI. The estimate was about half of what the dealer would charge. Work completed - no surprises. Has been about a month, all good with the car so far. If you have a Subaru - I would recommend taking it there. The guys there definitely know what they are doing.Service: Tires

Great place for all your service needs. This place is always super busy and yet they were capable of fitting in an emergency repair on my car and had me back up and going ASAP. The crew here are always willing to help reach out to them for any questions and needs but be patient as they have a very busy schedule. Always remember cheap work isn't always good work and good work isn't cheap work. This shop is my #1 recommendation for your Subaru needs!!

I drive a 2021 Forester Sport and for over a year, there is this weird sound coming from the front wheels. Every dealer I went to, couldn t pin point the cause. My car is still under factory warranty. The guys at Six Star checked the car (I was there 4 hours) and after showing them a video of the noise AND checking the Subaru service bulletin, they have told me that it could possibly be the front wheel hub assembly. Romar called Hawk Subaru and explained the situation since I can still get this replaced. Everyone listened to me and did their best to pin point the problem. And although we could not duplicate the sound (it rained), they did not charge me anything and still shed some light on a possible cause for the noise.Thank you! I m one step closer to not sounding like a crazy lady!

I could only give 5 stars, but I would like to give them 6!!We used Six Star Motor sports to replace my son's engine. We are still in the brake in period, but I am VERY pleased with every aspect of the company. Every single person I have spoken to has been polite, patient and kind to me. It was an expensive repair and there were many options that had to be selected, but everything is running great!Nice job to everyone!!There were many decisions to be made, so I a spreadsheet to catalog the brand, part number, type of item and price. We were able to come up with a build in about a week. I do not know much about cars and Chris took a lot of time to explain to me the differences of each part and why one was better, more suited, correct size, would meet our needs. He was helpful and rather than being put off my my analytical methodology he complimented me on being so organized. Not once did I feel like I was being talked down to or felt any pressure to spend more money on a part. We had previously used BP and I was not happy with that experience!Pat put the car together and at the start, because the car had been previously modified, the engine bay didn't look organized. I commented on this, and the finished product is nice and neat. Throughout the brake in period we have had questions. When I call Romar or Chris the patient and kind attitude continues. Chach took time to work on aligning the 3 port boost controller under the Cobb cover and it looks great. The shop is clean and the technicians really know their Subaru's!If you are looking to get work done on your Subaru, I would definitely give them a call!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

These folks definitely live up to their reputation and exceed all expectations! As a 1st time service customer, I was I treated like a valued regular, even scheduling my appointment around work & severe weather. Once I arrived, I was given the opportunity to wait & the service was completed quicker than I anticipated. The inspection results were detailed and honest with explanation that anyone from a new Subaru owner, to a long time technical enthusiast can understand easily. Hands down best customer service from ANY repair shop. I'll be spending more time & money there whenever it comes anything my Subaru needs.
