Terrible service.They will lie, manipulate you, and never be honest with where work and progress.They took me back and explained to me what was wrong with my car. They even told me to take pictures to show me "Prof".Everything they were telling/showing me was just a con. They still gave me my car in a dangerous state to drive when I ask for help to make my car drivable again. Pure pettiness. Even when I told them to keep the car as long as they need to fix the issue. Told then "no lights on my dashboard (so emission tests can pass me) I receive my car and my dashboard is still lit up and was told that it was all fixed.Anyone reading this!!! Does that sound okay? It does not. They took my $ for over 1500 and my car was still a mess. Not complaining about the price but warning everyone that this place is not okay.For someone who "trusts" mechanics....I got screwed badly. You can't trust this place.I made it simple for them. "Do a full inspection (got charged for that) and please fix my whole car and keep my car until it's fully drivable again" they told me it'll be ready by the end of the night. My car could take even move forward without shaking the whole car and feeling like any minute your tires are going to fall out. It was dangerous to drive to my own home. Please citizens. Stay away and go somewhere else. I wouldn't want anyone to be screwed like me. I worked hard for that money just so it can go away in second and for nothing. Take care yall. I am a very reasonable guy. Very patient but I was speak up if I see something wrong.

Took my car in to the Car X located in McHenry, IL for four new tires and an alignment. They called me and told me that my car was ready so when I go pick up the car my abs, traction light, and my power steering was really tight. I told them something wrong because when I dropped my car off I had not a single light on my dash and my power steering was fine. They didn t tell me none of this happened to my car when it was ready for pick up. The assistant manager inform me that they never did a tire job on my model Chevy Impala and might have to do something to make the system relearn (idk what he meant by that) he cleared the lights off my dash and drove up the street and the lights came back on and the steering wheel got back tight. He took it back in a the bay ans was trying to see what was wrong. After 40 mins he bring my car back around and tells me it s a rear wheel speed sensor that s causing the problem and it s an additional $400 to fix. I was mad because my car never had this problem and drove fine all the way to the Car X location (I stay 30 mins away). The assistant manager also accuse me of clearing the code before I came to the shop and I don t even know how to do thing like that better yet I don t even own a scanner. I lost every trust and respect from Car X I spent a lot of money with them and this one takes the cake. I don t play about my car and for the assistant manager to be so unprofesssional the way he was really made me think they messed my car up on purpose for me to spend more money. I will be calling corporate Monday they might not be help but it s worth a try. I forgot to mention the assistant manager called the police on me because I was upset that they messed my car up after spending $1K on tires. They also changed a rear bulb in my car and I didn t even tell them to do that Car X is a scam and intentionally mess your car up so you can spend more money with themService: Tires

Lied she called me back and a regional manager would call me back. No voicemails or call backs. Just one phone call from the store manager who lied about providing a print out report after a whee alignment. The apple doesn t fall far from the tree, liars and scammers. Never do business with this company

They take advantage of women customers by overcharging them and not actually replacing parts with new parts. I asked if I could buy the part to ensure the part being replaced was new, but they said they don't do that. Then after I paid to get the service completed, I requested to see my old parts and proof the old part was replaced and they refused to do so. The next day my car broke down again.

I took my vehicle to get my ac fixed.After a week plus 3 days and $ 1000 down my ac is still not fixed. They told me it needed more parts that were defective and they had to order them and that it would be an extra amount. I checked with them later that weekend I was told they had ordered the wrong parts and the new parts were coming soon. I called a day later and was told that the technician working on my vehicle had the day off and the parts were locked in his locker and refused to come in to make the parts available. I called the next day and was told that they again had the wrong parts and they had ordered the correct parts. I called on a Monday and again was informed they had the wrong parts. I knew that the District manager was on-site and I asked to speak with him.I was informed that he was on another call so I asked that he call me. I still haven't received a call. I called yesterday and was told they would call me later . I'm still waiting. Their customer service has gotten terrible. I never had this problem before especially when Hector was working there. He always kept me informed about what was going on with my vehicle and offered reasonable solutions for my vehicle.No stars!I apologize to this location. The review was for the Car-X LLC on Huebner Rd in San Antonio, TX. I don't know what happened.

I went to the Carx on 107 and Cicero in Chicago IL. I have a bmw 535i xdrive. And the mechanic did not screw on the oil filter all the way. So my bmw was leaking oil for weeks. I had to take it to bmw which costed me &5,000 dollars. The manager ray was supposed to compensate me for the damage but he s just pocketing my money when I go there. I would like to talk to a owner to get this guy ray fired. And some of my money back due to damages.

I guess I've been luckier the others that have left reviews, because I actually spoke with their customer service rep. I can't recall her name now, however, they are very difficult to contact. She did clarify with me that there are Car X dealerships that come under their umbrella and there are independent Car X's. The Car X that I had issue with, the Car X on Stony Island Avenue, in Chicago. I had a $50 coupon for over $250 in repairs, the Stony Island Car X wouldn't honor it. They eventually gave me two oil change cards, however, when I attempted to make an appointment for one of my other vehicles, they told me I could only use it on the one that was repaired. This the corporate office informed me that the oil change cards can to be used at any Car X that comes under the corporate umbrella, and that I should be able to use them for any of my vehicles; and that there is no expiration date. Okay, so I've tried to get an oil change at 2 different Car X under their umbrella, (I will not go back to the Car X on Stony Island. The first Car X wouldn't honor it coupon, and the 2nd Car X tried to give me the conventional oil change. I only get high mileage or full synthetic oil changes. Now I haven't been able to contact this corporate office in months. At this point, they need to issue the oil change cards for high mileage oil changes themselves. Car X Associates Corporation, know this, if you don't address my issue, then when my credit card balance reaches $50, I won't pay it, but will close-out the credit card. Speaking of their sorry-ass credit card, it can only be used at Car Xs under their umbrella, absolutely no where else!

Went to the only car-x within a 20 mile radius for an oil change while on a road trip with a coupon for a free full-service oil change handed out by a car-x in Ankeny , Iowa. I was told that the coupon was invalid because he'd never seen it before and that I would have to pay $69.00, no exceptions. Ironically, this coupon (along with 5 other identical coupons totally $350.00 in value) was given to my friend by a Car-X in Ankeny, IA because they royally messed up on service they recently performed on her car. I will never go to a car-x again....no exceptions.

I wish I could give negative stars. I called to make an appoint for my car to get inspected. The day of the appointment, I walk in only to be brushed off like I was unimportant. I call to tell them about their customer service. So I called/ sent an email about the recent experience. So when I called them back They seemed interested in my rotten experience. I was told by the customer service person that its 1 to 2 days and they get back with you. I called them back to see what's going on. To this day, there still hasn't been a resolution even though it really should have been cut and dry. Seriously, shame on you! You really need to step up your game. I'm really surprised your still in business.

I went to the Hanover park ill location to have a flex pipe repaired and 400.00 later come to find out they fixed nothing. the car is currently at another shop whos say the repair was never done. The guy Jason who wrote the repair up is no longer there because of shady business practice, DON'T GIVE ME THE 1800-359-2359EX 2424 NUMBER BECASE IT IS B.S

Have taken my truck back to the same shop 3 times for break noise, and they of course can't seem to hear it. Keep in mind, THEY ARE THE ONES THAT REPLACED ALL THE ROTORS AND PADS IN LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AGO! The store clerk was not very pleasant nor offered a sensible solution to the problem. I'm Not happy at all with car x. I will never patronize this brand ever again! "If your worried, don't call the car x man".

Are you serious?? Customer service goes right to a voicemail during business hours? After I was just ripped off by your local shop. This company seems to be one huge scam. Everything I've encountered with Car X so far has been extremely SHADY and deplorable. Do I need to go to the local news station to voice my complaint?

Yes, as all the other reviews are stating, definitely the worst customer service and auto repair experience I've ever had. If they can't do an oil change properly with out the filter coming loose within 5 miles of the shop, loosing all the oil and pressure, me having to walk home, getting the vehicle towed and then them dragging their feet for weeks for even the smallest amount of compensation, what can you trust them to do. ZERO, not one star, zero is what they deserve.

480 Roosevelt road in Glen Ellyn IL has been my go to shop for almost 10 years...Mike and the team are simply wonderful...my car is warrantied from tip to tail...now that I have moved out of state to Alabama I am looking for a mechanic who will treat my car with the same care...being able to warranty parts is unheard of out here...it would really help if car x expanded and started adding locations in the south starting with Alabama...I know it's a big request with a lot of moving parts but a girl can dream...I just want to have a mechanic again with a company structure I know I can trust

So the customer service hot line they give when you leave a bad review is a scam also. I called the number it went to voice mail, I left a voice mail AND STILL NO RESPONSE... I will leave a negative review on EVERY CAR X SITE once or twice a week until someone contacts me

I been going to this car x on Ashland for going on 5 Year's.n one thing I know is they won't sell you something you don't need.witch means a lot especially the way times are now.

Mattoon, il has no workers and won't take your car unless it's a oil change...plus If you do a online appointment they'll just never call you back to confirm it...

Car x is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND VERY INCONSIDERATE OF PEOPLES TRUST FOR THEM TO REPAIR THEI VEHICLE. WARRANTY PURPOSES OR NOT. HAD A 2012 FOCUS THEY INSTALLED AN ENGINE IN CRACKED THE RADIATOR CAUSING IT TO OVERHEAT. REFUSED TO REPAIR IT. COSTED MORE MONEY TO FIX PRIOR TO THE DEDUCTABLE THAT HAD TO BE PAID FOR THE ENGINE ITSELF. THEN THE AC. STOPPED WORKING AFTER THE ENGINE INSTALLATION. YET AGAIN REFUSE TO FIX REPAIRS. NOW ENGINE HAS FALLEN DOWN AND THEY STILL REFUSE TO FIX THE ISSUE AND YET AGAIN OUT OF A CAR. VERY BAD SHOP TO GO TO FOR REPAIRS ! THEY DONT TAKE IN CONSIDERATION OF PEOPLES LIVES AND THE FACT THEY WERE TRUSTED TO REPAIR A VEHICLE THAT IN RETURN NEEDS WAY MORE WORK NOW THAN IT NEEDED BEFORE THEY TOUCHED IT AND THEY REFUSE TO ACCEPT ANY LIABILITY FOR NEGLEGIANCE !
