I've had three experiences at this place.The first time was OK, and there wasn't anything to complain about, even though I later found imperfection in the paint job (sorry, I'm too particular). The other two were for my other vehicle, and I didn't have a good experience, particularly worse the second time (we'll talk about it soon).They messed with the steering alignment on my vehicle such that centering the wheel now takes the car to the left, so I have to drive it with the steering turned slightly (but noticeably) to the right. When I took it to them, they told me it was the closest alignment possible, even though it wasn't like that before I took the vehicle to them.The second experience was earlier this year when they had to replace the front and rear bumpers and the rear tailgate glass. They left spare parts in the vehicle, including the worksheet containing internal records of the work done on the vehicle. One of the pieces turned out to be a sound-dampening piece, so I wonder why the cabin noise is so "improved" after I got the vehicle back! Not talking about the quality of the glass itself (probably they aren't to be blamed for it?), they punctured the weather shield (denying that they touched it), and just today I noticed HEAVY DENTS right next to it, probably added while removing the glass for replacement.Now they can't tell me that it was there before, as I'm someone who's very particular about his cars and performs a deep clean every alternate week or so. I don't even feel like driving to their place, wasting my time, and returning home feeling discontent with their response. I was told that they would arrange for a weather shield, even though they denied that it was their fault. Surprise: I still haven't heard about it from them.I remember I did put a review the first two times, but I avoided multiple reminders from them as I didn't want to spoil their ratings by placing a negative review. I guess I cannot stop myself anymore, especially after the dents I discovered today.If you're reading this, I'd definitely recommend taking your car elsewhere, which is something I'd do (God forbid if I had to), and let someone else ruin it for me.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Painting, Auto glass repair, Electrical, Body & Trim

Same with michael below. They did a good job on the actual job but took 5 weeks for something my usual repair guy told me 1-2 weeks. When My car was towed there I told them the battery died and would need a charge or new battery (not sure which)., It took exactly a week to get a call to tell me hey I need a new battery. After that when I called for updates, it was like I was inappropriate in asking simple questions. Also took a week to order a simple battery. I paid for rental car 3 weeks and borrowed sons car 2 weeks, very expensive 5 weeks. There is more but Not gonna pick on more details since did get the car eventually which did, but my 1st day back , car died, so it was not the battery after all,. Again the job they did there was decent.

5 weeks and counting for minor repairs. I had an accident a few years back with major damage and I had my vehicle back in 3 weeks. We get no updates, we are stuck paying for a rental since the insurance only covers 30 days. When we do call we every excuse on why it's not ready. Latest was our tech was out for a week because he was sick and then he has Dr appointments and has been leaving early. Are you telling me no one else can work on the vehicle??? Gerber should be paying my rental since they can't seem to get their head out of their butts and get my vehicle fixed.I am beyond aggravated and fed up with this place. Go elsewhere, you have been warned.

Everything went well! They got me a loaner car. They stayed to wait for me because I got off work late. Repairs were great couldn't tell they did anything to it, looks better than before the accident.

Came for an estimate. Dirty waiting area. Looks like the carpet wasn't vacuumed for weeks. Cobwebs and dust everywhere.Receptionist not welcoming.

I choose this place partially cause a good friend and previous customer of mine worked for this company at a corporate level.I walked in for an estimate. Girl at desk told me 2 weeks to get in for an estimate. I went home and was able to go l online and booked appointment for next day at the same place.When I went in for my estimate appointment time I was informed the estimator Michael was still at lunch and I could sit and wait. I waited over an hour!!No respect for the customers time!I then called to book appointment for repairs and at best same girl could do was like 3 weeks later at 10am on November 7. I agreed and she said she would get everything set with insurance.Today Nov 7 at 10 am we went in to drop off truck.Unfortunately same girl says oh I see where we requested everything from insurance but we have no appointment no parts have been ordered and she had no idea what s going on!!!!Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere where they understandrespect, customer service, and follow through!!And I can only imagine what the actual repair would have been like!!! No thanks I am going elsewhere!!!

Got my RAV4 back quite quickly after a rear bumper repair. And happy with the results.They seem to be very busy. Almost reluctant to accept customers if not assigned by insurance. Seems that there have been many accidents coming in this year.

My husbands car was dropped off on 6/14/22 at 8am for a replacement windshield due to a rock chip. Unfortunately, the windshield had to be ordered so the car was picked up at 6pm the same day. When we arrived the shop was closed. The car was sitting in their lot, unlocked, with the keys in the cup holder. At that point my husband noticed multiple door dings on his rear driver side door and a paint chip taken out of the driver side quarter panel. My husband is extremely picky and careful with his cars. The door dings and paint chip weren t there when the car was dropped off. And to make matters even worse, when the vehicle was dropped off, the woman that helped my husband was extremely rude. My husband is extremely tolerant as he himself works in the car business. I have heard not so good things about Gerber, but figured how bad could it be??? Not good at all! Extremely disappointed that the gossip about Gerber is indeed facts!Update: As of today, 6/15/2022, my husband and I have both been contacted by the area manager. He was very apologetic and insists that they will do what they can to make this right. I believe him and would definitely do business with Gerber. Last visit: drove out of the parking lot to find a giant piece of plastic lodged in my tire, had to leave my car there for another 3 days while a new tire was delivered. Well, decided to try the place again and got double-booked, told the appointment would not be honored. Then i was told its going to be at least 3 months until my car could get fixed. All these one star reviews below do not warrant a 3 month wait. Get your business together, this is ridiculous.Service: Body & Trim

Unfortunately hit a deer, and right away Gerber was very pleasant to deal with which is definitely what you want in a stressful situation. Everyone was very friendly and they did a great job! I couldn't tell that anything had happened. They continually kept me updated on the status of the repairs and answered any questions I had. They also finished repairing my car earlier than expected (days earlier). Highly recommend.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Gerber Collision & Glass did a fantastic job on my truck. It was hit in a parking lot just as I was walking up to it. After getting insurance information I took it to Gerber for an estimate. They fixed it and you would never know it was hit. The rest of the truck looked like it was detailed. Hit a Deer - 2016 Mustang5 star service *****After a horrible experience at Carstar, I had to take my vehicle over to another shop to be looked at. I went to Gerber in Round Lake, IL. Very Glad I stopped in. Jessica the representative was extremely nice and was excellent at keeping me informed along the entire process. The Repair techs found damaged parts the other body shop totally missed. They fixed my car flawlessly. The shop is very clean. The repair was perfect.The paint was excellent. They listened to every concern I had about my vehicle after the accident and addressed every single detail. They also worked directly with my insurance for a hassle free experience.I will recommend this location to anyone.Again 5 Star service *****Thank you!

I worked with Jason to have my car repaired. He was great to work with and very knowledgeable. The repairs were completed quickly and professionally. Jason took time to explain what was done and what I needed to know going forward. I really had a great experience and hope I don't need to have work done in the future, but if I do, I feel I will be taken good care of with Jason and his Gerber Collision team. Thanks you

I'm glad everyone else got lucky here, but I didn't at my Round Lake location. First, they slotted me at the wrong time for an estimate appointment because their headquarters system couldn't calculate the fact that I was in central time zone so they scheduled me 1 hour late. Then when i get there and sit and wait like it's some doctors office, the body guy (Scott in I think) didn't seem to care one bit about me or my car, and we left with him saying "I'll see what we can do, I'll call back when insurance contacts me back." I waited 2 weeks and NO phone call back. Quite rude and unprofessional. I looked it up eventually at an online claim from my insurance and it was in fact all done and quoted, estimated 4-5 days to be fixed. Okay, fine, seems great, I thought, all they have done now is just not care.I called back to set up a day to drop off and the reception lady said they could fit me in on like 2 specific days of the week and that it would take 9-10 days to fix! TEN days to fix a rear quarter panel dent? And why two specific work week days only? Absolutely embarrassing for a body shop.Poor customer service, lack of care, and long time to fix. How bad are their skills if it takes 10 days to fix a 12 inch parking lot-induced scrape/dent.I never called them back and I took my car to a great body shop on Rollins road in Round Lake Beach, where they fixed my car in nearly HALF the time and were friendly. I was shocked at how friendly and normal and competent other places are by comparison.

I was very pleased with the service and customer service in this Gerber location. I originally had a quote done for my Jeep in the Mundelein location and they went off the same quote, with no more additions to the cost.The customer service was excellent, they helped me get a rental for the time I had my car on repair.. They finished the job about the same time I had my rental for (did not had to pay for more time) and honestly that helped me a lot considering that the cost of the repair was all that I was expecting to pay.Overall, as mentioned, I am pleased and happy with the results of the work done on my Jeep... I would recommend this location and would return here for more work if necessary. Thanks Gerber.

Place was a hassle took 4 months to get my car back . Then when I did get it back there was parts left in my car from other cars every time I went too pick it up something was wrong with it . . The paint was dripping they fix it now showing again. The plastics are loose I turn the wheel and there is a click noise now . The paint doesn t match . The front bottom and top grill doesn t match. The clear coat is coming off . They gave me a missed matched tire saying they couldn t find my tire which I found in 10 mins . Everyday I find something else wrong with it . Could not be more impressed. They were incredibly professional, friendly, and made the entire process very easy for me. I received both phone calls and text messages letting me know how the repair process was going and they even got done ahead of schedule. The workmanship was flawless. You cannot tell my vehicle had ever been in an accident. Will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for repairs.

Not sure why but they left the inside of my car really dirty, and I gave them the car clean and the paint job on the car is so horrible and there s tons of scratches on one side that didn t even need to be touched on but that s what happens when the insurance says gerber the best when it s not, find another place because this place sucks at communicating and they don t care about quality ain t no way even after two try s the exterior still looks horrible. Lesson learned don t listen to insurance agent lol

In cahoots with Statefarm. I was rear ended once by a Statefarm policy holder. Statefarm advised me to bring my car to Gerber round lake beach location for estimate. Their estimate for repairs was 500$. I knew this was not right, took my car to Platinum autobody in Lakevilla, turned out that i needed 1800$ worth of repairs. When i complained to corporate office , manager named AJ or DJ from this office called and refused to take any responsibility. So i told him that i have estimates from 2 other reputable body shops along with yours and can come and show it to you, suddenly his tone changed. Lol. Deceptive and dishonest. Always take quotes from neutral bodyshops before submitting your repair quote to party at fault insurance. Since then, i never went back to this shop, nor i recommend it to anyone.

Took in my Jaguar F Type in! Needed a bumper repair after a drunk driver incident! The work was great. Estimate was on time. Fitting on the seems was perfect. They even gave the Jag an amazing shine! Strongly recommend this place!Service: PaintingService: Painting

Dropped my wife's car off this morning for an 8am appointment to have my wife's windshield replaced while she was out of town. Didn't hear anything back from them by 11:50 (they close at noon on Saturdays) at which point I called their scheduling center who made contact with the shop to verify that I would be able to pick the car up today as I am in the service and have work tomorrow. They relayed to me that it would be no problem and the tech was almost done with my windshield. I received a call from the tech at 12:02 letting me know the windshield was done and available for pick up. I let him know that I had to jog there (3 miles) since my wife is out of town with my car and I'll be there within 20 minutes. I arrived at the shop at 12:20 and everyone was gone. I knocked on 3 different doors including their garage. I contacted their scheduling center who tried to contact the shop which there was no answer and I have been told I have to wait until Monday to get my wife's car now. So not only did I not receive my car when I was told I would, I have to pay a taxi to take me to and from work tomorrow and Monday on top of being jerked around by this shop. Never again will I use this place as this has been terrible service by them all around.

These guys are amazing! Jessica greeted me at the front desk and got me back quickly to River who did my estimate. He was quick, knew exactly what needed to be done and got me straight over to Tom to knock out my fix quicker than I though. I ve been sweating getting my issues fix for a year and within a few minutes it was done and left me wondering why I didn t get into this shop sooner. I will be looking for vehicle issues from now and and suggesting these guys hands down. ASK FOR RIVER!

On the date of the 17th of July I made numerous attempts to contact the Gerber Glass department by phone only to sit and listen to the music for a long time. (Approx an hour) I became fed up with waiting and drove (on hold) to my local Gerber Collision and glass. When I arrived I noticed off staff was chatting it up with the customers in the office about her family. I requested that someone please give me a quote for my windshield. I was told quotes could not be handled in person and the Gerber 800 number would contact me within the hour with a quote. Ms chatter box gave me a $20 coupon and it had the main number on the front of it. She instructed me to contact the number if I have not been contacted within the hour. You shouldn't be surprised to know I had to contact them again and wait eventually someone called me back 2 hours and 20 minutes later. I made the appointment for Wednesday. The individual who made my appointment said dispatch would call me first thing Wednesday morning. No one ever called I waited until 4 before handling important business thinking I would never get a call. Because the appointment never got set up in the morning. At 4:15 I got a call from the technician he was 45 minutes away! I couldn't miss a very important interview. I requested to reschedule the following day asking why no one called me in the morning. The individual responded if no one has called me by the end of the day today to reschedule then call them first thing in the morning. I started calling Gerber Collision & Glass at 7:15 in the morning. No one answered the phone until 11 in the morning. Here it is Saturday a week later and I have been informed that the third day that we try to reschedule because they didn't come yesterday because no one was in the area so my appointment yesterday got canceled because they couldn't do it today it got cancelled because they don't have the part where did my windshield go the same place my business went I will never try Gerber Collision & Glass again! Waukegan has a much cheaper option@ Glass City to the tune of 100 plus dollars cheaper also you can go to Grayslake and get your glass done @ Glass Doctor! Gerber may be the "BEST IN AUTO GLASS" THEY MUST ADMIT AT THIS POINT THAT *THEY HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE PROBLEMS AND THE SILLIEST OF SCHEDULING PROTOCOLS.

After a very long night involving failed roadside assistance and a less than friendly tow truck driver, I left my car and key at Gerber. My spirits were low when I called the next morning but everyone I dealt with was so friendly and I got my car back that evening. This place was definitely a blessing and a bright spot for me that day.

One winter after they replaced my rear bumper and every quarter panel connected to the rear bumper started rusting (no other rust). The seat never worked right (track replaced), and the exhaust is misaligned. I've been going to gerber my entire life - will never come back (the amount of times I had to come back is also a bit of an inconvenience)..Would recommended if you're not interested in keeping your car for too long..
