Great place to have your car serviced or repaired. We brought a Volkswagen Passat in for transmission service. The price was comparable but slightly better than other options. The tech working on the car probably diagnosed another issue the car was having. Family owned and operated.

Highly recommended worked on few of my VW diesels and not only did they diagnose the problem right away but also fixed it at good prices as well! Wish i found them before I ended up spending hundreds of dollars at other places that couldn t even diagnose the issue!

The guys at Nelsons have always been honest, fair priced, and very friendly. Highly recommend for purchasing a vehicle or getting work done. I always receive great service here on my VW. I noticed the day before going out of town that my headlight was out, and Shaun fit me into the schedule that same afternoon! I was in and out quick and he even showed me what was going on with the bad light. I will definitely be coming back here for my next service!Edit: back again today for routine service and, as always, I received incomparable care. I highly recommend Nelsons for all your VW needs!!

Tire came under my car and tore all the plastic pieces, my car was loud. These guys were able to squeeze me in during my work hours even though they were super busy. The workers were very pleasant and easy to talk to. Definitely recommend them if you are looking for trustworthy mechanic. Will be going there from now on. 10/10

absolutely love this place!! I own a 2008 VW rabbit and couldn t find a single decent mechanic in the rockford/south beloit area until my close friend recommended I go to nelsons, (she takes her VW Passat there). Customer service was phenomenal! I had no idea what was wrong with the car or how to explain it, but they were able to diagnose the problem and have it fixed at the most affordable price i ve come across within 24 hours! Super friendly people too, my boyfriend and I spent an extra 20 minutes just talking and laughing with them even after my car was finished! They are super flexible and willing to work with customers on how to get your car fixed in the most efficient and affordable way possible! I bought a car from Ryan just recently. The transaction was very smooth start to finish. Ryan gave me all the details, pictures and videos of everything that I wanted to see. Buying a car unseen is usually a risky proposition, but Ryan worked very closely with me and always accurately described the state of the car and gave me a more than fair price for the car. He dispatched the title to me very quickly but unfortunately FedEx lost the package. As soon as I told Ryan this, he jumped into action immediately and applied for a new title. I'd recommend buying anything from him. Honest, professional and extremely helpful. A+

I ve been coming here for the last 5 years and they are the most professional and honest mechanics around the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin area. Extremely knowledgeable about Volkswagen and all other vehicles, I wouldn t take my vehicle anywhere else. This is one of those shops that you feel good giving money to. They were honest, understanding, and extremely helpful. My only complaint is that I don't live close enough to make them my go to mechanic. If you live nearby Nelson's Imports you have to stop in for any repair work you need done.

I have both an Audi TT, and a MINI Cooper S which they have taken excellent care of each and every time that I set an appointment to come in and see them! Ryan is a great guy and a good mechanic. He is upfront about costing and what needs to be done. An honest mechanic that doesn't try to screw you over is pretty rare these days. He Offers alternatives to fit your budget. We'll keep going to him for as long as we are in the area.

These guys are fantastic! Took my daughters VW Jetta in..they diagnosed the problem right away. Worked with the extended warranty company and fixed the issue in 24 hours. I really appreciated Ryan explaining what was wrong and even showing me the defective part. This place is great Nelson has a great sense of humor and go down and see their laughing hyena. They have the coolest race cars and if you catch him on a good day they give away free shimp and stakes.

Broke down heading through town, and Nelson's happened to be the nearest shop I could limp my car to. They were obviously very busy, but they made room for me and had me back on the road in to time.
